#farms-and-outfits

Added fields now. Still unsure if I'm gonna leave it like this, because I don't know what exactly I still want to add.
I really like that town square
also @lusty pasture, That's REALLY GOOD
but, might i suggest more space for the animals
maybe pull it down to the lake.
That looks better too
Ooh, that stone-within-wood look is one I haven't seen before and it's fancy. Those will make great scarecrow/statue/etc. pedestals eventually too
I hope I can build everything this winter! And I haven't thought about the statues, but it sounds great
Greetings, where can I check how many tiles I can use to sow seeds in?
For most of the vanilla maps, it's listed on the wiki here: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Farm_Maps
There are six different Farm Maps to choose from in Stardew Valley. Each map offers a unique layout of the Farm, offering different benefits and favoring specific skills. Only one map can be chosen when starting a new game, and cannot be changed once selected.
thank you
and as well, you don't need more than 8 iridum worth. if you plan on causlaly playing tho
I'm finding the planner is overly restrictive about where floor can be placed. What are the other known places where it's overly restrictive or permissive?
ahhhhh
you need to just turn off restirction check and have good knowedge of where the actual bounds are @hasty bear
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
I'll be able to harvest the chum buckets from the top, and not hate myself for the lack of a path between the ponds?
Depending on what I put below them. For now just fenced off wilderness.
@gloomy pine what did you use for the interior??
im looking at a few different interior mods so im curious to see what urs is cause itlooks nice
also i think ur farm would benefit from bee hives or smth to fit with the aesthetic
@south blaze !!! Thank you
And definitely going to add more hives, most of my income comes from teas, flowers, honey, etc.
Oh and I also use toned down stardew valley for the bed, kitchen, and town building interiors
ahhawh thats so cute!! i really should start a tea/honey/flower farm myself
what tea mod r u going to use/are using??
I use farmer to florist, more recipes, vintage bee boxes, and artisan valley! @south blaze I love them and highly recommend!
omg vin tage bee bo xes
want.
thank you sm!!
good luck with ur farm
(sorry, this one?? https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4229/.popup-topic)
aha thanks
any ideas what else to put in my cave?
Nice setup
thank u
What about a display of gemstones?
Your cave is gorgeous! Where do those 3 gold minecarts go?
@gloomy pine is that the cave from SVE?
yes, it is.
no @quasi prism its IF2 farm
@devout cloud they go to different locations around the farm, the IF2 farm is pretty big
@silk dove is there a mod that allows me to place item on tables outside of a room? i tried to make a display and it wont let me place anything on tables
Yes, the easiest way is Furniture Anywhere, which will let you put the normal indoor tables in the cave: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2276
(Plus you can give the Dwarf some nice chairs, add some floor lamps for night trips to the quarry, all kinds of fun)
i have thattt i placed my tables down, but places gems onto the tables is the issue
it wont let me ;-;
Hmm. I'll check if there's a known fix
i said somehwere above this that if you can think of a mod, it exists, and it was about furniture.
furniture mod has been broken for quite some time i believe
my if2 farm so far
omh that looks so goood!!
ty
Is that the buildable red shed you're using?
I love how all the colors go with each other!
ah
What map is that?
river farm
this is the render of the farm tho, might look weird
ugh, it actually deleted some of my trees
idk how to decorate my farm, sigh
decorating farm is hard
tips::: buy EVERYTHING U CAN from flower dance ( i regret not doing this), and download mods
and get lots of grass starter
i wish you could landfill the pond sometimes
my cellar (wrens revamped cellar mod) - year 6
home w leah <3
that's adorableee, i love the natural look!
Wait so IF2 for SVE is different?
idk ive never used SVE before @quasi prism
https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3561 this is what i use
its uh over the page like down the bottom left of the farm theres an exit to that other area, unless you mean the one up top, this map is different from IF2 remastered tho @quasi prism
Question: Can I upload my farm to SDV planner to see what I already have?
Yes! You can upload your save file using the blue button at the top right of the planner
okay!
Anybody here got a nice planner for Junimo Huts?
Are you looking to maximize their coverage or have a nice-looking layout?
Good question....
Aesthetics vs profits
Aesthetics would be a permanent option
So I'm thinking Aesthetics
Cool. This farm of mine leaves some spaces to give nice pathways and let the Junimo have a fence: https://stardew.info/planner/27-light-herons-drove-merrily/
(Scroll to the right; it's a modded map)
I actually made the Junimos' borders out of Basic Logs and Log Sections, but since those aren't in the planner I put them in as fences instead
Oh alright, thanks for that mention, I was wondering what you used
This looks nice
Thank you

awesome sheds!
anyone know if there's a command to display items on table for console? planning to decorate by doing so, so i was wondering
should be able to just walk up to it and press your right click equivalent?
@timber rivet @agile mesa rain :( ill post another ss when all crops have grown
looks pretty
Hhh so pretty
mega storage mod broke so i made a storage shed
What chests are those?
@strange palm normal chests but i use Japanese buildings mod which changed some craftables as well
Ah
I see you're a person of culture as well.
indeed
mod
@strong willow i use CropsAnytimeAnywhere and [CP] Clean Quarry and FurnitureAnywhere
Thanks
no worries
I also love your sheds
same here
i'm in love with my farm! any suggestions?
also yikes need to get more grass for those animals
they eat so much!
i've got the trees from artisan valley growing on the little bit over the bridge, and i need to get a path built for the hill area on the mid right hand side bc fighting my way through all the damn trees to get to the cave is annoying 😂
i let cauliflower/melon/pumpkin grow all season
and harvest on last day
oh
money
might do a gravel path just to keep some paths clear and let trees grow again on the hill bit
i think it'll look more natural
oh some ideas i saw here are really interesting
i like that when i make a mod, i have some ideas about how it could be used, then people make their own stuff and it's pretty cool
Hey all! In the process of planning one of my first farms, For the most part I am happy with it, but do you have any suggestions to clean stuff up/make it look pretty? Obviously there are some blank areas that need some sprucing up too, so any help there would be great too!
You could put some fruit trees near gramps grave!
I also notice that you don't have a stable, do you use a horse?
Totally forgot to put it in! I'll probably set that right next to the house on the left side, thank you!
If you made the walking paths through your field only one field wide, you could fit another row of iridium sprinklers. However you'd have to walk around the scarecrows, which might be an inconvenience sometimes.
Ohhh! I like that though, adds so much extra planting space. All about that profit! TBH the scarecrows won't be that big an inconvenience so it's worth it
Just make sure you don't plant anything that grows on a trellis there
turned that little square next to community centre into a place for honey
Uwu
owo
oWo
can anyone share their screenshots of their hoarding sheds
like
i want to have loads of chests in 1 shed
and organise it so that chest 1 has spring crops, chest 2 has summer crops etc
and chests for produce etc
im a hoarder
oohh i found some stuff online
This one is my hoarding chests
ooh, color-coordinating, neat
I have a big chest mod so I only have like 5 chests for all my stuff
I'm mid-Summer, year 3... was up till 5am, moving some fences (replaced nearly every single one, you're welcome, Elliott), worked on some roads... now just waiting on some fruit trees to finish growing, so I can finished around them
Oh pretty!!
That's so sweet! All those paths are incredibly beautiful
thanks! I was trying to keep it organic in feel
how do you take a photo of yopur entire farm on PS4?
you're going to love it, js.. I have like 6... I think..
turned that little square next to community centre into a place for honey
@gloomy pine THAT'S GENIUS! Why didn't I think of that?
hehe
probs cause you can't hoe that without mods.
Can you put down the beehives?
ye you shoug
I don't think I'm making enough honey
you don't need too
honey is worthless.
just throw up one beehive, that's it. get the commcenter out of the way ad destroy it.
My default gift is coffee, everyone except the children like it, so I don't use the beehives
I definitely wouldn't say that honey is worthless. I made the area around Gramp's shrine into a flower garden/beehouse section and it pulls a good chunk of money every 4ish days for me. Also makes the area I have them in pretty because I have alot of flowers there too.
i ay worthless because i just stager plant my ancient fruit.
i harvest every day
Eh. I have a greenhouse mostly full of ancient fruit, and I'm making so much wine from it that I can't even reprocess it all in my casks, even with flipping it once a month. So my 90 something bee houses are fine enough.
i sell most of mine raw
hmm do yall think i could make a farm that (eventually) was entirely beekeeping and flower themed? like, no artisan goods but honey, only growing flowers? is there some kind of cap on how many bee houses you can have in game? it would be a fun challenge to try >.>
early game excluded of course
i just wanna have a house in the middle of flower forest minecraft vibe
I don't see why you couldn't do that.
maybe for my first mod i'll try to make one that adds more flowers to the game
You'd have to have alot of maple trees to tap for syrup.
unless theres a goood one that already exists
thats true
trees and flowers is my jam
Here are two key flower mods to have:
https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2028
https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2075
and since greenhouse cant be used for bees i might fill it with ancient fruits depending on when i get my hands on them for extra money
oooooh
Ooh. Nice. There you go.
Check out the rest of PPJA too. With the Artisan Valley machines and More Recipes and such, you can make dried flowers, floral teas, all sorts of fun products from them
But it's entirely possible to just do it normally too, without the mods. At least, I don't see why it wouldn't be.
OOOH
i want to be a flower tea witch ; = ;
but cool thanks
im trying to make my replays more interesting for myself and i really enjoy the flowers in sdv
and i love bees so xD
though i think i like the first flower mod you linked because the flower sprites themselves seem to fit more with the overall sdv style?
im picky about that stuff
True. Mizu's do look more consistent mixed in with the vanilla flowers and other crops
made a fish pond centered farm on the planner...they don't make a lot of money but they're fun to play around with! rly want to build this one now but it would take forever without cheats lol
Wow it would look great if you made some kind of pattern with red ponds, or other color ponds
If it was me i would make a giant XD or something dumb like that
Ooh. And while the vanilla special-color ponds give plenty of opportunities for that, there's also a world of possibilities available with Pond Painter: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4703
ooh i forgot about the lava eel ponds lol ive only ever gotten sturgeon...
I got one of each color
the by water type one sounds really cool i'll have to try that one
discuss mods in #archived-modded-support please
oh cool! I never knew that the signs show the fish in the pond!
Yeah you can put signs
why is planner channel in support and modding lol
feel like it’s more of a creative or community channel
hpeinar's place for support for planner users, discuss features / improvements and of course, share the plans made and discuss best ways to do X or Y.
its more about the planner itself rather than the results of the plan, although its a bit of bothh
Honey is for aesthetic
we need a dedicated "plans" channel
new home vs old,, which do you guys prefer?
i have become a rug hoarder
the grass will look prettier in spring
Rug
rug?
Rug hoarder
what LAYOUT IS THAT omg
wait
thats hespers unreleased one right??
where did you get that
bruh i want sgf soo bad
@gloomy pine
also it looks real cute
Wow. Both of those look really good. I think I kinda like the bottom one better though, because it's not as busy/cluttered for me. But I really like the extra rooms the top one has.
What mod gave you that dragon statue in the top picture, btw? That's super cool.
yeah, i agree. The top looks a little cluttered.
where did you get that
@south blaze i tested it for hesper hehe
Wow. Both of those look really good. I think I kinda like the bottom one better though, because it's not as busy/cluttered for me. But I really like the extra rooms the top one has.
What mod gave you that dragon statue in the top picture, btw? That's super cool.
@crude fjord i’ll have a look for you when i’m back at my laptop
i think clutter is just cos i’m like OMG STUFF
i’ll probably re do it again
actually even my irl room is like artsy cluttered
@crude fjord https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2989 i recommend the CF version
Oooh. I'll look into it. Thanks!
me and kitty
@strong willow seasonal garden farmhouse v2, not out yet, im testing it for the author
new home vs old,, which do you guys prefer?
@gloomy pine Jeez what house mod is this?
Oh, Seasonal Garden Farmhouse 2?
why would you even try to use @ everyone lmao
@timber rivet why not?
because you are setting off alerts for people who do not want them
TO THE SEWERS IT IS
@gloomy pine I took some inspiration from your plan and made one. It focuses around fish based dishes and wine.
i like that there’s still plenty of room for animals in yours!
also you rly love silos lol
you have many armies of trees, silos, ponds, preserve things, looms, etc.
neat effect
Yeah, the trees to the left of the Mushrooms will be tapped.
The ones on the right will be for wood.
Well I have a file that is 8 years in, so I guess.
You would have to move a bit the normals trees, since they need 1 space between them (unless mods i guess)
i made a coffee farm plan
with tea on the side
i was inspired by some of the other "dedicaed farm plans"
neither of those render though
cows are for milk
I'm back on my nonsense with my original save in its 17th year. What is the most profitable thing I can do with 2 full stacks of iridium ore? I already have half a stack of iridium bars and all the mega bombs I could ever want.
@crystal current You mean to tapper them or to harvest wood?
Because that's not true for either(without mods).
@drifting bobcat That looks like a lot of work but it does look good.
wild trees grow one tile apart
Yeah, a tree seed won't fully grow if it has a tree right next to it
a sapling cannot grow if it is adjacent to a fully grown tree but other than that no restrictions
If that's the case then I need to fix my main file's tapper layout, thank you.
That would explain why I only have 6/12 trees of each type fully grown and tapped.
What level are people finding to be the sweet spot for starting in the Skull Cavern? IE, do you come out with just as much loot starting at floor 300 vs. 500?
I'm still interested in copper, iron, and coal on my current run, so that's a factor.
On that note, the carts and boxes containing coal are sometimes empty now when a Skull Cavern level loads? Is that random?
Probably a better question for #stardew-spoilers , but...
You can only get the bonus cart/box of coal from a certain level so many times before it's used up
@crystal current I fixed it, it looks better now too.
Oh yeah looks a bit better
If you get those mushroom trees keep in mind they have the same spacing requirement
I have 8 years on a file and just found this out, thank you so much. I guess I have to edit my plans again.
sucks
Hi Guys, any one knows in which channel I found some business developer guy ?
who?
idk its his only message on the server
(You can search for all messages from someone with a from: search, but probably best to discuss this on another channel at this point?)
i did and they havent sent anything else at all
uhhh is there any way to make the planner let me put crystal paths or stone paths over grass areas? cause you can do that in the game...
nvm found it
im doing a bee and flower thing on teh forest map because forest is life
im just not sure what else to put there, was thinking about also being a kind of bakery/bee/flower themed thing but this map is kinda hard to put a barn and stuff on
You could build a coop over on one of those grass bits to the left
and maybe a barn on the other
Forest is one of the hardest farm to design for me 😮 but yours look really pretty
I started with Forest farm. Mine isn't organized yet at all. lol
I also started with forest farm but soon gave up on designing it bcs i want things to be aesthetically pleasing 😂 i end up with standard farm now 🙃
The new four corners is pretty cool for layouts
I really want to design a forest farm now
I really like the forest map
Same
forest map is super pretty, hard to plan on though
I've just been throwing down buildings
Been working on this for a bit now. Anything I could do to make it better?
Paths
Where?
I can't build them on grass and wouldn't be able to connect them properly sadly
Down the left of the fenced areas at the side
You can build paths on grass. The planner falsely shows that as impossible, but it is possible
You can disable restriction checks in the options menu to bypass that bug
("Grass" in this case = the green areas of the map, not the tall grass you can cut)
Yeah I get it. I'll see if I can figure it out
Honestly.. this is probably my best plan yet
Is there a like a way to upload your planner map to a new farm, like not a progress farm like one for messing around and getting creative
No
It’s just so you can work out your farm before you plant saplings and build stuff in the actual game
Alright. I have a dumb question. How are people making layouts with the actual items? The planner that I've been using makes everything very basic. I feel like I'm missing an option. Lol.
I don’t use the planner, just build paths and leave gaps for trees
@crude fjord You're using the one at https://stardew.info/planner/, right?
Yup
Could you give an example of an item you're missing?
But my plans come out looking like this
Oh, the rendering. The planner is focused on the actual task of laying things out
If you want it to look like it does in-game, go to the purple icon at the top right and choose "Render in..." (the season of your choice)
The upload.farm service will then make it pretty for you
Ohhhhh
Well dang. Check out that neat shit.
Well, don't I feel dumb now. Lol! Thanks!
I do wish some of the decorative items were available, like statues and such. But I just use placeholds for them anyway. I can understand how complicated that would make the whole planner then.
Interestingly, if you import a save into the planner, a few more light sources and decorations are shown than you can choose in the menus. The rest are invisible, though
Yep, click the blue button at top right and browse to a save file and the planner will load in what you currently have as a base
Using the Immersive Farm 2 Remastered Map for this one. Any suggestions on how to improve it?
perhaps more sheds
More sheds, huh? Any idea on what I could do with them? I'm already planning to use one as a makeshift brewery, one for storing my other makers and the other two for storage.
More wine never hurts, and just general storage, you never know when you need another shed.
Yeah more keg sheds is never a bad thing
True. I should mention that the empty spaces on the map are going to be where I plant fruit trees. That includes the forested area on the lower right as well.
A couple of junimo huts would be nice too
What do they do? I've never utilized any of those before.
junimos go out and harvest your crops
8x8 radius from the door
better junimos mod is pretty good too I should mention
Hmm...I might have to look into that.
Aside from the earlier suggestions you've made, this is a fairly good map, right?
yup!, You got really creative with it!
Thanks. I'll try to implement some of the stuff you suggested later and see how it looks.
I can't find any silos? With so many barns and coops you will need a few of them.
Guys, I have been playing the hill-top farm for 2 years in-game. I am still confused of what should be built in my farm remembering the space is quiet narrow. Any recommendation?
I mean, I have built coop, barn, and a silo. But, I don't know where to put them
I haven't found any good spot
A made this basic plan a while ago. I think I posted the rendered version somewhere here as well, but I was happy with the places I found for the barns and coops
@gloomy pine found it
You're welcome! ^^ I hope you figure out what to do with the rest of the space
this is sweet! ive never seen the hill top farm rendered before lol
Nice...moving on to fall season!
Time to build those mills haha
@lusty pasture Yes, I love to experiment on my farm, no worries. But, at that time I got really stuck. Thanks again really...
I agree
Every farm has it's perks. The only one I can't work with at all is the standard one.
Starfruit wine and Ancient Fruit jelly or Ancient Fruit wine and Starfruit jelly?
starfruit wine is more profitable, and ancient fruit jelly would mean you can make good money every few days after a harvest
starfuit wine, when put in the cask is probably one of the most profitable items in the game
is forget acient fruit for the summer and completely focus on starfuit
i always want to use the wilderness layout bc its so pretty but monsters running around at night would annoy me so much....
Ooh, that looks great! And Wilderness Golems are actually kinda cute, though. (The bats, meh)
ty!! do the monsters affect crops at all? or do they just attack the player as usual
nope
animals dont either, so i just let mine run free
but i like the coop system.
i wanna try out that pacifist mod w/ this layout lol i think it would be cute
actually, there is a way to disable spawns
||witches hut?||
yeah
Yes, the ||Dark Shrine of Night Terrors||
Be sure to bring a ||Strange Bun|| as an offering
||it would normallymake monsters SPAWN but on wildernes it can undo it. downiside is that when you redo it it adds more monsters.||
oohh interesting i always wondered what that mechanism would be like on this layout
what kind of monsters spawn? like everything?
No, there are no more monsters after reenabling than there are when it's initially enabled
The monsters' difficulties do scale up with your combat level, so it might seem that way
sc monsters?
If your combat level is high enough, yes, some of them. Bat, Serpent, Slime, Shadow Brute and Wilderness Golem
hmm thanks for the info!
brb gonna get the pacifist mod so i can hug shadow brutes running around on my farm while having krobus as a roommate......

What happens when you try?
This is before you even press the upload button, then? Just going the Planner page leaves you with parts of it missing? (A screenshot might help)
no it starts with a blank, normal map when you start
but when i upload it it doesn't change
it doesn't actually upload
Ah. Does the URL change to include something like 7-happy-ferrets-danced-peacefully at the end?
no...?
lol
im genuinely curious to know what that means
here's a video because im shit at explaining thngs
That's the format of randomly generated URLs that the planner assigns when you upload or save a map. If one of those were getting assigned, that could have meant that the upload was working on the server but something was stopping your browser from loading the new page
Ah, just saw in your video that you're not uploading the actual save file. It looks like you may be in the config directory for the NPC Map Locations mod
Here's how to find your real save files: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves#Mac
Hmm. Stardew saves are XML files, not JSON files. JSON files are used by a lot of mods for storing their data, though, sometimes with names similar to save files except for the ending
(Although the saves are XML, they don't actually end in .xml. A proper save's name is something like Ethan_236847472; it can run to several megabytes)
ohhh
oops
i think it's working
my url is "28 bitter guinea pigs played jovially"
kind of sounds like one of those school abbreviations
like PEMDAS = Purple Elephants Marching Down a Street or Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally
my teacher always said please explode my dear aunt sally
oh we didnt have cool rhymes
just parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction
Is that from a mod?
is it possible in any way to move where fruit trees are already growing?
my plan is beautiful but I have a fruit tree in the wrong spot :(
There is a mod for moving trees but not in vanilla
Thre's a mod for it @sturdy jolt. I had to use one to move some fruit trees in my greenhouse when I got an expanded mod for it. I'll tag it for you in the #archived-modded-support channel.
@gloomy pine solution to your issue with wilderness farm: just offer a strange bun to the far right ||witch statue||
The monsters aren’t that annoying tbh
I’m year 3 never had any issues with wilderness monsters
Hey all, wanna share this farm, I've worked quite a lot on the planner as well as in game, and love the result
Would love to hear your opinions
Buildings are modded, I'm using a map recolor, and the grass looking paths are a modded gravel path to look like grass
Shed next to the house is a tea room, Shed next to the greenhouse is my hoarder shed
Thanksss
I liked going for some symmetry, and the thingy of the tea bushes
I messed quite a lot with the tea saplings in the planner
AAAAA SleepY YoUr AliVE
(also NICE tea)
i like the idea of using animal pens as separators
Ooh! Such a thoughtful layout. I love the central tea garden, the pretty design really makes the overall symmetry shine instead of becoming repetitive. And the animals have lots of space without it feeling gratuitous, love the L-shapes. 5/5 junimos
(just for me-context: high symmetry and square shapes aren't usually my jam)
Of course it's ok! It's so functional, much more planned out than mine was at that time!
Are you going to want some fruit trees? Maybe make an orchard down there, but be careful cause those are the one thing you can't move if you want to spread things out going forward
(or green house for fruit trees)
Oh hey, i didn't even notice the completed greenhouse. Lol i should sleep instead of looking at plans any more
i can @misty citrus (sorry for the provious) i would do a slime hutch
i love those
Quick question, what are you using to make your plans?
The planner
where is the planner?
Link in the... thingy at the top
Oh, Thank you!
You're welcome! Have fun ^^
Can use the junimos to harvest tea leaves?
not sure
I think so
From the wiki: Junimos will not collect crops grown from Wild Seeds. They will collect flowers, plants requiring a scythe, and crops physically unreachable to the player because they're blocked by trellises.
Hey guys, does anyone know how to maximize the use of the Fishing Map
becuz im not sure how to do it
@gloomy pine what map do you suggest
I like forest map
But hiltop and standard map look pretty nice as well
@errant moth are u into mods
could download a modded map
Im using the switch for right now and once Im able to get a better cp, I will use mods
ah okay
if I were to use mods, what would you suggest
My favourite farm is wilderness
I personally don’t like hilltop becuase it hard to find a decent crop set up with the big river
However hilltop looks really nice
Thank you!
@red obsidian ooh i like the little double cabin area facing the pond
How does this look?😬
Thanks elmlily and amaryn for the nice comments. Can't hang around rn since I gotta work, but on lily's comment, I do like symmetry, however trying not to make it stiff looking, glad you lik3d it!
You leveled up to Shepherd. Wow, you've been talking a lot! Have a prettier, slightly more brag worthy, shade of blue.
Oh nice, leveled up!
Hakuna do you like my plan?
I love the tree surrounded crops
kinda afraid i dont have room for a forrest where i can chop trees
And if u wanted to u could fit a 5th pond there in the corner
i think four is enough
I think it looks very nice!
I like it! But grass for your animals would be nice and make them happier.
And you can chop all the trees in the forest near marnies farm and a few others two. They will grow back by themselves.
thats true with the trees
and i know about the grass, but im afraid they are gonna eat it to quck.
Does the grass and lightning rod trick still work?
What is that?
that if you place a lightning rod on grass or the other way around, they can't eat that piece of grass.
It seems to still work? you can use fences as well apparently, but I haven't found anything recent
ill try. But i like the look of straw aswell.
It does still work. At least for fences
@errant moth if you want to do riverland, i will say that my playthrough has relied on lots of farming and the greenhouse. mainly animals and sheds can be put on land, but you'll have to use most areas for crops. (just use hilltop or monster)
e@gloomy pine what farm map is that. (Seems kinda overkill for size but i wanna plan one)
Pretty sure it’s immersive farm 2
Yes
yes
@errant moth fishing map doesn't have much space, so you sort of need to maximise the space you do have. Here are a few of my recommendations.
- unless you really love slimes, cut the slime hutch. It's big, stupid, and kinda useless.
- you can build buildings on the green grassy meadows on the right of the greenhouse, but you can't plant crops there. So I highly recommend placing buildings there. It's just about big enough to fit both your Barn and Coop.
2.5) in the same vein, maybe put your silos or fish pond on the bottom island. - Junimo Huts (a lategame/endgame building) encourage you to plant relatively large crop areas, so I suggest planting crops on the large central island and probably beside your farmhouse as well.
here's an example of a river farm I drafted out once. You don't need to go too overboard with crops like I did.
I Will agree with that. Except.
- unless you really love slimes, cut the slime hutch. It's big, stupid, and kinda useless.
I WILL NEVER GET RID OF SLIMES>
also, that many crop spaces is Overkill if you just want to enjoy the game.
you only nned around 8 sprinklers worth
that's ~400 crop tiles
which is on the high end, but it really is not extremely so
especially since every crop is covered with sprinklers + junimos
that's perfectly fair
and as said before. I F**n LOVE slimes.
8 irid sprinklers worth of crops is approximately 200, which I guess is abouuuuut right
I mean the slime hutch is absolutely big, stupid, and useless, so I personally do strongly advise not to build it unless you love slimes
it's fine to love slimes and to prioritise building it, of course
lol I like to build the hutch to get slime egg drops
then I demolish it the day Marlon shows up at my doorstep
eehhhhhh I mean yeah purple eggs are like 5k per, so it's a minor addition to my skull caverns cash returns
I guess if you like breeding slimes yeah
I never figured out if slimes breed in the slime hutch while you're not looking
This here is a Year 1, 20th of Autumn, 2 player co-op map
Both beginners. Really a do-as-we-go approach
We have no sprinklers yet, so with us both having to water this every morning this is slowly getting out of hand.
We're just planting as much as we can so we'll have a good harvest at the end of autumn
We'll leave it at this though, since we'll both end up being unable to do other things otherwise.
We need to get those damn sprinklers
Don'T TAKE ADVICE JUST PLAY THE GAME HOW YOU SEE FIT FOR NOW
JUST DO IT HAVE FUN FIRsT TIME AROUND
MOST IMPORTANT
Oh absolutely
Advice is welcomed though.
I think this is the wrong channel for this though. My image wasn't a planner image.
Is there no "Show your farm" channel on this?
This tends to double as the "show your farm" channel for lack of one
Oh well okay
I mean, yes, we're both beginners who haven't gone beyond year one in single player
But it still can't hurt to get advice
Don't plant that many crops. Plan into the future and you don't really need that many fences. You should consider building some coops and barns soon though. Don't forget to first build a silo
Some things just aren't that intuitive.
Oh we were going to build the coop tomorrow.
So close to winter, be sure you have a silo. If you don't you will have to buy hay from marny in winter and you don't want that
Also... have you upgraded your tools?
Copper yeah
Just make sure you get some decent amount of stuff and upgrades in winter.
We're actually having what seems like pretty good income. Compare to until now 😉
It's the first winter for me actually
You can't do crops, i hear?
Nope. You can’t. But as Nadine said, make sure to have a silo. Otherwise, a lot of the money you have made, will go to hay.
I used a mod to turn my Slime Hutch into a winery.
noice'
e@gloomy pine what farm map is that. (Seems kinda overkill for size but i wanna plan one)
@drifting bobcat https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3561
Ye I said it but there’s the link ^
thank fam
may the fourth be with u
Hey does anyone have good tips for decorating their farm? Ive been meaning to make it look more esthetically pleasing but I just dont know how too. Any tips or just plain out fun layouts would be perfect
I see a lot of aesthetically pleasing fence placements
you can check out r/FarmsofStardewValley if you want
@gloomy pine grass is good
Ok cool
are there any like cool design tricks like placing flowers and such that look good
hmm idk, stardew valley is a lot more efficiency focused rather than aesthetically focused like animal crossing, but my tips for like grassy flower looking things are 1. buy everything from the flower dance u can 2. get a shit ton of grass starter 3. as for planting flowers, generally plant them around beehouses (obv) and circle patterns look nice generally
you may also benefit from downloading like flower valley or smth
or wildlflower grass etc.
For planting flowers: if you plant a lot of the same species next to each other, they will come up in a nice pattern of colors rather than just random
OMG YES i forgot about that
wait, what?
Yeah, the random generator that handles flower colors is seeded with the location of the flower, which produces patterns. Here are the images from the wiki: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/mediawiki/images/thumb/3/33/Flower_Patterns.png/489px-Flower_Patterns.png https://stardewvalleywiki.com/mediawiki/images/thumb/3/32/Flower_Patterns_2.png/489px-Flower_Patterns_2.png
Those show checkering of two different species, but it works just as well with a field of a single species
Is there no way to zoom in in the planner?
Try doing whatever lets you zoom in on the browser (Ctrl +)
Any ideas what to do with the free space?
Fishing ponds or some Trees/Fruit trees? There isnt so much space left.
I forgot the trees! Yes! And there should be space for two ponds
Anthing I can place where there is only a little space?
ponds and trees
For really small places you could place down beehives, flowers and decorative flowerpots.
You can also let trees grow and place stuff under the trees, after they are fully grown.
also, grass as filler inbetween paths.
it's helpfull with asthetic
and add rando trees
@gloomy pine so pretty, i love the fruit trees! you can put the animal product machines in the barns/coops themselves btw, if you want to save space and go quicker from gathering the stuff to putting them in the machines
@gloomy pine I have a few opinions! Firstly, it's so gorgeous! I like: the diagonal path up to the mill, something about that whole center is very eye-catching; how you've hidden a shed in the trees (very forest,) how the fish ponds blend right in with the others; and speaking of, I found a pond hidden in the trees (haven't played on this map so I didn't know to look for it)
Do the bees have some flowers hidden in the orchard, or is the orchard more the target of pollination? (I wish that were a thing in the vanilla game!)
So the one thing I'm not 100% on is the path between the two big ponds, where there's a sharp bend seemingly for no reason, I'd just maybe like to see that smoothed out with a diagonal somewhere. I see where under the bend, it kind of follows the contoured grass colors, so maybe smooth it a bit on the upper side? If it doesn't work doing it that way, that's cool too. The whole thing is extremely pretty.
(sorry for writing a wall, also that I didn't realize I had a judge from a TV talent show living in my head that must be dying to get out. I just got so excited!)
Thank you😄 u have very good ideas!
how can I make this better/more compact?
I also want things to be as easy accessible as possible
and I don't have access to irridium yet
okay
that's awesomeuse of paths
i'd throw in the fish ponds INTO the animal feild (you have enough space) and then go where you want
Wasn't satisfied with my old layout, so I made this new one using the OmniFarm map.
The tree icons on the right represent my orchard (which is the larger section) and my tapper trees (which is the smaller section with the well).
The slime hutch in the center is modified, turning it into a winery.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
How do you find the time to manage a farm that big?
sprinklers
You still have to plant, harvest and care for animals in.... 12 barns and coops?!?
12 barns and 14 coops!
managing a huge farm is impossible without mods
^
hey, i was looking for some advice as to how i could re-arrange my farm
is there any way to get the planner to work on iphone/ipad
or does it just not work like that
@weary lily have a look around in here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FarmsofStardewValley/
r/FarmsofStardewValley
alright, thank you
no worries
@weary lily it's pretty good as is. me personally, i either go for 90% effiency or 90% asthetics
this looks more like a efficent farm]
yea, im prioritising space for crops, trying to get a 4th junimo crop square up and runnig
the ponds are really annoying
im thinking of moving the crops down
it'll be tough to get another square with the set up you have islaubfwehoij
unless you do like a half square
or move the barn and coop... but they have all the grass
well you don't even have to move them, just squish the fence up and around a bit, and you can fit another two squares on the far side of the pond
personally I would like to let the animals have more space... move the fish pond and put the silo where that is, so you don't have to walk around it to get to your obelisk
you dont need the well, but it would probably look good down there in the tree corner
i might remove the well, kinda useless atm
Hi @warm linden! I sent you a donation and email a couple weeks ago for a multiplayer planner room. Did it make it to you?
@wooden schooner I'm sure it did! Did you also sent me a e-mail asking for the room ID? I'll send you one in here, if you want you can also email me later for it :)
@warm linden Thank you so much! 🙂
Looks nice!
So many chests xD
xD gotta store all those things to sell later
I feel that... I don't have enough chests D:
I HAVE A FARM FOR Chests
Haha
Did someone say chest plant
imagine thinking you read it wrong
yes, i do. and yes, it's one of my weirdest ideas. and no. it was NOT fun.
stardew.info security certificate expired
hmm
it said it expired yesterday lol
actually today
um so that can be fixed
easily
??
It should be able to be. LE is designed to regularly renew certificates via an API. If the cert didn't renew, it is probably a server task that stopped running without being restarted, an API key that was invalidated, something minor but annoying like that
oki
wrong chat oops
communist? not in my america
hi
lmao
america? not in my communist
Why stardew planner here?
Because the mods did sumthin
gone, reduced to atoms

the new channels are #stardew-valley and #stardew-spoilers
new is for the new people and seasoned is for old people
Hey everyone, just a reminder that this is #farms-and-outfits
General discussion is best for #town-square
Yeah ik I was just asking why are things all over the place
See #bulletin-board :)
Ok thanks
this is #farms-and-outfits
its like that so you can see everything
the buildings will appear full when you render it
ye, the planner shows the hitboxes of buildings and items (:
i started but then thought it looked bad so stopped
also some stuff wouldnt load and i got mad lol
That looks good! Yeah upload.farm (which handles rendering) does have a few bugs with what shows up
No, im not looking for a digital side gig
its for the moth god
Why
hurhur, are you sure cheese?
Hori why are you like this lmao
because moths like lamps, and therefore lamps are good
Aww
its forced
also wrong channel
@spiral lotus How are you gonna reach those barns?
oh i just threw them there temporarily before i figured out how i wanted to do the barn area
I really like the paths in the middle you built...
but you noticed the errant wooden paths?
I didn't... but why are they there?
an odd combination of stupidity, blindness, and laziness
heh ^^
That's a lot of wood lamps wow
Yep
ok
Any suggestions for what I should put in the bottom left?
Trees to collect sap
few fish ponds?
Yeah ok. Thanks

any ideas on how to design a hilltop farm?
Mk thx
no prob
Forage
whats forage farm
i feel like there isnt a lot of farming land tho
Not really
Just be more careful with planing
then choose standard
Oki ^^
@inner sedge lots of bees
not done yet, but can I go with this?
You're going to have some Junimo turf wars at those intersections
rip grass
Seriously though, not enough grass for the animals (that's 96 animals)
itll be obliterated in one or two days
Hey guys, any tip for designing farms? I'm struggling a little
r/FarmsofStardewValley is good for some inspiration
....uh... hi uber
other than that, be aware of ranges like scarecrow ranges, sprinkler ranges, junimo ranges
I kinda threw this together in a hurry, because I just paused my game and decided I needed a plan, now that I ahve all winter to build something
and be aware that your horse takes up 2 spaces when its going up and down
I got the UI info suite mod to help with that
I got an idea, be right back
Ok
@inner sedge lots of bees
@sage ingot thanks
took longer than expected. More grass and trees now. Also, s h e d s
Still don't know if I like it...
@lusty pasture, quick question if I can.
Of course
Why so many sheds?
I like sheds
I can fill them with stuff
But I honestly have no idea.
I feel kinda weird right now and don't really know what to do
I can respect that, but if you upgrade them all and fill them with equipment, that will be ALOT of things to harvest.
This is more or less my current farm.
I've tweaked the fish ponds, mushroom trees, the normal trees between my crops & the small pond, added alot more beehives and I have each of the warp tower things to the left of my crops but other then that, that's how my farm looks.
in my layout, i want to put 9 sheds with crystallaries to get around 7 millions every 5 days, but now that you commented, i will spend a lot of time collecting everything 😥
Yeah, I have one Big Shed that has 166 Crystalariums and one Chest(The shed above the silos) and instead of selling after every harvest, I sell at the end of each month.
What else should I place?
@lusty pasture, what is your farm gonna be based around?
Yeah crystalariums take up a LOT of resources
I like animals? But I'm not sure. Aesthetics are also kinda my thing
Well I have all the farm animals in vanilla(Including Void Chickens and Dinosaurs)
They are a bit tedious to pet constantly so I just keep the silos full and harvest from the Auto-Grabber in each(other than the pigs) about once a month/year.
Thanks you ^^ I'll leave it for today..
honestly, i don't feed my animals grass haha
they seem content with being able to walk around everyday
in my layout, i want to put 9 sheds with crystallaries to get around 7 millions every 5 days, but now that you commented, i will spend a lot of time collecting everything 😥
@tough grove get auto mate man
i dont think thats very possible without automate
therefore why u should get the automate mod
I let them out and they're fine, and in the winter, they're happy with a heater
i just pet them!!
you don’t.. feed them???
only when he needs produce
i do slimes, so , no need to feed them. allthough having simes melt near a heater would be DOPE
or have slimes outside change with season.
HAY
wow
Well slimes don't lose mood or friendship when not watered (since they don't have mood or friendship), so that's one thing, but if you're not giving your coop/barn animals grass they at least need some Hay. Their mood may turn out alright just by going outside, but letting them eat grass is the easiest way to make them happy
my animals be providing that iridium quality produce
Does anyone know the best way to get bug meat?
Probably a question for #stardew-valley or #stardew-spoilers
Wrong channel yes...
yeah i give them hay, i just don't plant any grass. if they're lucky, some spawns when the season changes, right on where they stay :3
what do you guys think of my farm? any improvements i can make?
bringing the coop up a bit so it lines up with the barn?
also itll get dark at night so you can put some torches at intersecting lines too for the aesthetic
Could add some fish ponds along the edges for a bit of color?
or fill it with trees.
there isn't enough space for the animals to eat grass
the grass will run out
it's not too big a deal but if you intend that to be the case, then consider building an extra two or three silos
I also like to put the obelisks near my house, that way I can access them without walking across the entire farm map
obelisks are such eyesores
that's not false
lol
but they're convenient eyesores, and putting them across the farm map lessens the convenience
factual
I'll take a mild sore to the eye for the additional convenience
i just use CJB cheats to warp places lol
and my obelisks are content patched to look nicer and shorter
nintendo
switch
gang
no mods for me lol
i thought the switch was modable?
Nope. Windows, Mac, Linux, Android only are moddable
or is just svd not working for it?
as a console it's just harder to mod in general, and typically such things require custom firmware
which runs the risk of bricking it
hmm i see
i dont remember anymore how it works but pretty sure skyrim its moddable on the switch so thought sdv would be too
Skyrim switch mods require some kind of custom firmware, yes
in any case this isn't really the place for such a discussion
owu
does anyone have any ideas for the 4 corners map? or know a website for it
r/FarmsofStardewValley
Well slimes don't lose mood or friendship when not watered (since they don't have mood or friendship), so that's one thing, but if you're not giving your coop/barn animals grass they at least need some Hay. Their mood may turn out alright just by going outside, but letting them eat grass is the easiest way to make them happy
@silk dove
Any constructive criticism? Just finished designing it
omg looks good!!!
you probably need more grass than that
and the wells are taking up valuable space (if you want to have max efficiency)
the silos should be moved closer to the edge for more space
woah, that symmetry, neat
same with the obelisks
They are, I do like to have some aesthetics as well though. What could replace the space the wells occupy?
May I steal parts of your design?
maybe more trees
you probably need more grass than that
Yeah that's what I thought
the mill is covering up the spouse area
maybe more trees
The trees are more for decoration, got more in the greenhouse
so there will be some visual errors if you are married
Yeah. That mill area won't work
Ah
i mean a tapper farm
you cant do that
i mean a tapper farm
Was going to put that on the beach possibly
find a different place for the mill
you cant do that
Are there any mods that allow placement on grass?
because the tiles in the front are unbulable
What Cheese said
you can build on grass
stable is fine
but that area in front of the spouse area is no
The area infront of the spouse patio thing is generally unbuildable in.
Hmm ok
i like the neatness though
Though it let me put a fruit tree there. I didn't realize how much it covered it, so I had to cut it down after I got married. sigh
It's very nice though. I like the eveneness of it

Thanks, the original design wasn't symmetrical, but I just like to have symmetry
May I steal parts of your design?
@lusty pasture And sure
What is this?
channel for farm design
Ok
@weak island that is a good, well rounded, layout.
but.
i prefer at least one slime hutch
rn i'm struggling with organizing my forest farm honestly
have you seen other farms?
maybe draw some inspiration from that
r/farmsofstardewvalley is a good place to look
also, yopu can ask for advice here if you just want general tips
yah
well i'm planning to do like a lil tapper place. four of each tree. should i put that in a grassy area or on farmland? considering i'm going to have 10 iridium sprinklers most likely
grass
put it outside of the farm- wait you're on forrest.
yeah use the grassy areaas
so i finally changed my PfP to match my username
beautiful 👌
ye
You're off to a good start! Since space is at a premium on the Riverland farm, you may want to reduce the width and number of paths when you're ready to plant more crops. You can't plant in the grassy area between your current crops and the greenhouse ruins, so that will be a good area to move machines for more space now and eventually to build a shed or two. Since you're in summer now, craft some Lightning Rods as soon as they unlock to protect your crops
that's a lot of fruit trees
they look great but sort of suck, so I recommend not planting any more
keep the ones you have for now and save the apples, you need three for the bulletin board bundle
save a peach and an extra apple for the artisan bundle too
aside from that, listen to kdau, the advice is great
