Why I choose fruit bats:

There is so few space in riverland that playing fish ponds is a pain, because fish ponds are so big and riverland is so small.
Which is very counter intuitive to me : not being able to exploit fish in a map that should be about them.

It is not about tillable tiles to me. The map is compact, you do not walk 30 minutes to reach the other side of the map. You get foraging xp, you get hardwood.

They give decent money when sold. I would rather eat some low quality fish than jelly, but your point remains valid. Low money earning Iridium quality fish can be good to eat when in the mines and will probably give you a better stack at the end of the day than jelly.

anyone able to get the crow item lost shop to spawn? i lost an item that’s listed in the wiki as being one that cannot be recovered, and the crow won’t spawn

i lost the strawberry bed in the mines after dying, and it’s not in the adventurers guild recovery either

The final results are ~7.7 Legend roe per week

He tested by having 30 fish ponds filled with Legends for 7 weeks

So 1 Legend fish pond has an average profit of 7792.4 gold per day, assuming artisan and if you age the roe

The true question is to what extent is this viable for an early game minmax run

Assuming you get a fish pond and Legend set up by Spring 4

But you do need artisan to bring out its actual value

For me, the question of what's good depends upon a lot of factors, and not necessarily the one that ends with the most money. In year 1 for me, I tend to go with parsnips and then switch to strawberries (and may purchase parsnips later). Yes, parsnips may not have a lot of profit, but the 4 day turnaround really boosts the farming level up so you can easily get access to kegs and preserving jars, and it will also help get money before you can purchase strawberries. You can get 3 rounds of parsnips before the egg festival if you start on day 1. I will add that I do try to save my mixed seeds until I have access to Ginger Island unless I need to fill a spot or two. That's the only scrimpy part of seeds I do follow because mixed seeds on Ginger Island can give you pineapples.

Maybe if you eat them all day long. I do not. Crab cakes are my goto for regular days, since SC gives many. In my precedent runs I found lava eel ponds decent with animal crackers as spicy eel providers.

If you lost an item that can’t be found again, a new friend appears in the secret woods who can get it back (for a price).
You can now put legendary fish in fish ponds. These are limited to one per pond and produce legendary fish roe. Each fish has a unique water color.
You can now place beds and sleep inside any constructed buildings that allow furniture.
Items dropped in water now float for a short time, so you can collect them if you’re quick or have a magnet ring.
Sam and Shane now have work portraits while working at JojaMart.
Slightly tweaked some dialogues.
Added new Easter eggs.
Added hidden cheat commands. (Only on platforms where a save edit is possible)

Balance changes

Blue grass no longer grows slower than normal grass.
Fruit tree growth is no longer blocked by grass and seed spots.
Pine trees now drop one extra wood when chopped down.
The initiation quest now counts wild slimes killed on the farm.
Thorns ring damage now stacks if you equip two of them, and monsters killed by a thorns ring now drop loot like regular kills.
With the Gatherer skill, the chance to double harvested forage now applies when using an iridium scythe too.
Son of Crimsonfish can now be caught during the night market.
Robin no longer constructs buildings during green rain in year 1.

There is also clay farming on the beach. This snowballs a lot.

Animation cancel has a lot of impact in the snowball effect. It is hard to compare casual tactics with speedrunners tactics.

He gets his steel axe after doing his first SC run. It makes no sense. Animation canceling destroys all the progression balance.

Not sure how you can get that much gold to unlock the bus that early without animation canceling. Mine farming gives more money than fishing, which is the way most casual players make a lot of money in spring Y1. That is what I do.
