Swap the lucky/iridium for emerald lucky, swap burglar for napalm

and practice pause buffering. The trick I tell people is to staircase until a certain time, not a certain floor. Staircase as well as you can until 10am and you’ll have a goal to beat by that time next run

If you don't have the seed (heh) capital for that, you could actually try buying a couple hundred wheat seeds to brew beer-- especially if you or a co-op player can plant with Agriculturist. That might leapfrog your money enough to afford starfruit seeds fast

Wheat seeds are available for half the year (plus 2/3rds of the Night Market) and they cost a pittance.

I just had the insect monster slayer achieved, then I went to the adventurer guild and the guy told me no. I checked and I had 79/80. I also had a quest where I had to kill 4 green slimes. In the same sword hit, I achieved the monster slayer thing and the Pierre's quest. I think the slime quest did something to the monster slayer counting. I already had something weird like that happen. It is hard to reproduce, but I am 100% sure I had the message for the monster slayer achievement.

What is everyone's opinion of the trout derby

I enjoy the event but it seems to fall off a bit after Y1 in value, although it's still nice to do for fun if you like fishing

I prefer the squid festival, but trout derby gives an infinite amount of rewards. It remains better than some festivals. I do not like that festivals send you home at 10pm, destroying the whole day. It pushes me to never go to a festival again once I have done it once.

Also Luau should refill your full energy if the soup was that good.

I am not a fan of big fields. I like speed gro and processing, so quality does not matter much.

Dehydrator makes your thing gold quality worth anyway and it swallows so many crops it might very well be called fruit vacuum.

I just had the trout derby and skipped entirely after seeing your results. I went for fishing at the ocean between 12am and 4pm with pufferfish bait. I smoked around 10 of them and made around 6k. I did not have the bobber that makes them bite faster and it cost me some coal, time to smoke them, so it's not free either. I still get to have the rest of the day to do other stuff. I might keep on skipping trout derby. Thank you for sharing your results. I imagine true min maxers do not even fish at this point of the game.

I'm having trouble with the big stump quest. I updated my save file to 1.6 around the start of year 6 spring so my greenhouse was built already. The wiki says that there's a 10% chance everyday after the greenhouse is built to get the random event that starts the quest but it's already fall and I haven't gotten it. Am I missing something?

To grow moss, the tree must meet a certain "age" requirement (every prespawned tree in the world seems to count as newborn when you initially start the game so you are very unlikely to see moss in the first Spring)
Trees "age" like they grow: with a random chance each day
Trees of sufficient "age" can spawn moss, also at a random chance each day. This chance is decreased on summer sunny days.
Green rain forces moss even if they do not meet the age requirement to grow it normally
A full-grown tree will have a higher chance to increment its age as well as to spawn moss each day, if there is a mutant (green rain style) tree that already moss on it, within a few tiles
Collecting moss will snap the tree's age down to a few stages below the moss requirement (to prevent a tree from regrowing it right away)

The age requirement is Growth Stage 15. IIRC, a fully grown tree is at Growth Stage 5. I do not know whether a fertilized tree will continue to increment Growth Stages at a 100% rate even after reaching full size, for the purpose of reaching the Moss age requirement sooner.
