They are both useful. Preserve jars and bee houses require a lot of coal. When I say expensive, it has nothing to do with usefulness. Farming dust sprites also allows you to gain iron. Charcoal kin requires too much wood, that is my point. I love my wood, I love my coal.

for foraging i just got the stuff as fast as possible, i got all but crocus from frozen mines so im only missing 2 from there (mushrooms etc from mines, i have bats so i got plum and blackberry early)

for farming i was just speedy idk, i got my quality crops knocked out asap, actually forgot to plant tomatos but it wasnt too late, i upgraded my coop to ducks on like... the 12th of summer? maybe?, got goat milk from the cart (animal bundle done), yam from trashcan, only need eggplant and pumpkin

for fishing i only need 3 (there are only 2 fall only fish, walleye and tiger trout, i still need desert fish) i got all of my spring fish by like spring 15 and fished for profit for the rest of the season so i started summer level 7, easily got puffer etc

i finished boiler on like spring 17 because i got insane luck and speedran the mines (trashcan fire quartz)

i finished vault just from money around like... summer 25? i hadnt been to get my desert fish

i excluded bulletin but here's my update from fall 7: i now only need walleye (no rainy days yet), crocus, pumpkin, nautilus shell, red cabbage, truffle, fried egg, pomegranate and 3 apples. i have a deluxe coop (4 ducks 4 chickens) and i just upgraded my barn( 3 cows), havent upgraded my house yet, got bottom of the mines mid summer, farming 7 mining 5 foraging 6 fishing 8 and combat 6

i also didnt have sprinklers until fall and was wasting half my energy watering crops everyday but we dont talk about that or that none of my tools bar axe and pic are upgraded

Y3 21st of winter, second perfection. I struggled to get truffle oil for my last crafting recipe : rain totem. I went to every single traveling cart during winter and could not find that truffle oil. I do have pigs, but winter means they do not produce. I went in as many sc as possible since I knew rain totem could spawn as a reward in treasure levels. Then the day right before I reached 10M allowing me to afford the golden clock, I realized I had a rain totem in a chest. I deconstructed it, hoping it would give me the truffle oil and it did.

Rhubarb is 13 days so 2 times in a month. 2x904=1804.
But for rhubarb you need to pay 2x for seeds so 1804-400

If I plant six trees around a mushroom log, every production will be 3 or 5 mushrooms. Quantity rounds down, so having an odd number of trees does not increase production.

There are low odds for red and purple mushrooms without any special tree conditions, so if I want to have a chance to collect everything, I need at least one pine and one oak to add the chantrelle and morel mushrooms, respectively.

It does seem that I'll want one of each tree type--pine, oak, maple, and mystic--if I want to play mushroom slots. I'll need two trees more to bring the rate to 3/5 mushrooms per harvest.
Mahogany and wild trees seem to be valid for focusing exclusvely common mushrooms.

Alternatively, six of one type of tree sets the odds to 60% special and 32% common, which I would be okay with, if I have room.

Midnight carps are a bit on the imbalance side to me. Pretty easy to catch and their iridium quality gives a good price. I guess their heavy time restriction is the justification. The forest lake is not very far from the farm. In 3+ hours you can catch many.

I saw a reddit post stating in fall, you should fish in the river - no matter what. But super cucumbers and midnight carps are forgotten in that opinion.

It's quite simple actually. I usually do it for fish that are above 200g. I used to smoker every single thing in a past run and it was awfully time consuming. Between 75 and 200, sell. Under sashimi, above smoke.

Artisan applies after the x2, but since it's a multiplication, it does not matter. So (2 × Fish Price)x 1.4 = 2.8 Almost x3.

applying a prismatic shard will have no effect on the innate enchantment

prismatic shards -> regular enchantment
dragons tooth -> innate enchantment

a tool can have both applied simultaneously

Personally foraging first so I can passively stack up gold boxes overtime, which helps me getting MRC from raccoon shop when the time comes. Also comes with mystic tree that produces mystic syrup, which can then be traded for fairy dust at 1:1 rate to have a decent stockpile incase you need something immediately done.

Farming second merely for the iridium scythe since that will help reduce harvesting time in general in IRL perspective, and for the blessings that can be decent depending on the effect.
