In a normal day I grt up. I do my harvest first green house, then I head to my fish ponds and then I do my kegging and jarring, then I stop and see my cows, then i go around town check foragables do my relationship stuff (at this point it's about 11) I then head over check the quarry if its ready yet (collect if ready) then I go back to my farm smelt my giant stock of ore) 2pm now. I go and finish up preparation. Collect any last bits go into level 30/65/110 now I head home collect any last part, mass sell (7-8pm) go and make sure my animals are away last clean up check missions for fish ponds. And then go to bed around 10-11pm

It's unironically easier to mash bug monsters for the seed to drop

You need to reach Lv10 in all skills to reach Mastery
You need a lot more EXP after that to receive a Mastery Point
You need to spend a Mastery Point on Foraging Mastery
You need to craft one or more Mystic Seeds and plant them, ideally with fertilizer
You need to wait a long time for them to grow (shorter but still long with Tree Fertilizer)
You need to put tappers on them once grown
You need to collect the Mystic Syrup about a week later

Each Treasure Totem costs, among other things one Mystic Syrup

Mossy seeds can be planted to grow the mutant trees even outside of green rain. Tapping the Fiddlehead has already been mentioned; the "regular" mutants have a role of their own in a tapper grove, though.
Oaks, Pines, and Maples within 5 tiles of a mutant tree, will grow and regrow moss twice as quickly as normal. Maybe you want moss for that statue, maybe you want moss for Mushroom Logs, maybe you want to make challenge bait, maybe you want to upgrade your worm bins to deluxe. I weave mutant trees into my tapper groves for this.

Normal trees that mutated in the rain, will revert to normal after it ends.
Mutant trees that spawned fully-grown, will also become normal trees afterward.
I do not know what happens to mutants grown manually from Mossy Seeds.

You can see right away whether the seed will grow to a fiddlehead or a "regular" mutant. The fiddlehead's seed looks like a green lump, and I believe the others are brown. If it ends up as the "wrong" one (regular mutant seed where you want a fiddlehead, or fiddlehead seed where you want a regular mutant tree), you can use the hoe or pick to dig the seed back up and reclaim it, and then replant it to see if it rolls a different type.

If you dont care about that kind of experience, you can go ahead and pay the golden parrot to find all the walnut
