Weave some mossy seeds (mutant green rain trees) into your tapper grove. If these grow moss, let it stay on them.
A mossy green rain tree will accelerate moss (re)growth on other moss-able trees nearby.

This'll give you a steadier moss income.

Some of my things have been disappearing from inside my house. No spouse (but 2 cats) and the items were right in my front room. That's the green rain trees. It seems like trees can turn into those outside of green rain too (similar to mushroom trees but with a higher chance). You can't tap those. The moss trees increase the moss growth on nearby trees.

When my ice rod freezes one, I run towards it to get rid of it instantly

Sometimes if there's an enemy right next to the exit and my fairy just healed me, I smack it on my way down so she'll heal me again in the next interval

Fake discounts are technically not legal in the US (which Stardew Valley's Ferngill Republic is based on) but very common nonetheless. It involves setting the base price unreasonably high and then offering a discount to a more normal price so swindle people into thinking they got a good deal when in fact they didn't. It especially happens quite a lot (via legal loopholes) around Black Friday: stores will raise prices shortly before Black Friday, and then offer a "sale" at the original, normal price point. They technically offered the item to the public at the higher price recently, so they can legally say it's a """real""" discount.

Jojamart's prices are higher than Pierre's and then the membership discounts those prices to the same as Pierre's, because that's what the items are actually worth. It's a pretty classic technically-legal way to give a fake discount.

Except they also suckered you out of the 1000G membership fee at the same time. (In real life, a store that offers a membership will sometimes even sell your personal info from your membership profile to other companies. Or maybe they promise not to-- but then get bought by another company later on, and they will then sell your info to all their friends. ...I hate signing up for things.)

There is exactly one item that Jojamart sells for less than Pierre does: Sunflower Seeds. The problem is, Sunflowers are negative profit even with the lower Jojamart seed price (125G seed to grow an 80G crop), so it's not actually a reasonable case of an advantage.

The closest thing to an actual advantage is that they're open seven days a week (Pierre closes on Wednesdays) and for longer hours. So you can still shop there in a pinch if you forgot to buy something you needed, but Pierre has already closed shop for the day. Being a farther walk from your farm, though, kind of cancels the benefit; it costs additional time. ...Time you could spend on fishing or mining or woodcutting or hitting on the locals.

The ones I've interacted with most, so far, are Mining, Farming, and Combat. Haven't had a chance to do proper fishing (due to... circumstances that will become clear shortly), nor set up a Mystic tapper grove yet (planning to do it this week if I can find a good photo of a Quarry layout for it)
Among them, Mining has actually helped me measurably more than the others: the heavy furnaces and mining statue. The mining statue in particular was important since Mr. Qi has been giving me dangerous Mine/SC quests for five weeks straight; the increased ladder rate or ore bonus helps immensely for those.
Farming feels better, though. Blessing statue and iridium scythe.

Mining was more practical; Farming is more fun.

Even if Mr. Qi does stop giving me mining quests, I still won't have a good chance to really try out Fishing mastery.
I'm horrifically behind on plundering the volcano dungeon.

Combat Mastery will have a better chance to shine there, at least. No ladders and not much ore for the mining statue to help with.

so carrots seem to be promising since you can get them to grow within 1 daay with deluxe speed grow + agriculturalist, but how do you get nough seeds to keep that up? there are maple seeds you can trade for carrot seeds but i don't have hundreds of maple seeds to keep that up

you can also dig them up but there's no way yo ucan farm carrots on an industrial scale just from the seed spots

The 1day grow is funny but not what they're really for

As hinted in their description, they have a very high energy value when eaten. Having a short grow time means they cost less energy for a beginner to grow.
