I had the Slammer (and Obsidian Edge) for my early SC runs, this playthrough.
It freaking sucked; I couldn't get past the mid-50s. When I finally got a Prismatic and traded it in for the Galaxy Sword, my next SC run was a successful 100-floor delve for Mr Qi's Iridium Snake Milk quest.

Being able to quickly take out enemies helps in two ways:

1. If you're being swarmed, you can slay some and move on much sooner
2. You can get Solar and Void Essence more quickly, to craft more Mega Bombs as you go, blasting more stones and revealing more exits.

It was Winter 24...
At around B98F, the clock struck 1:40. I quickly crafted two staircases and just skipped to 100 for credit.
The scene ended and deposited me at B101F, where I picked a fight with a mummy, fucked up, and got clobbered at 1:50. Fortunately I didn't drop anything irreplaceable.
Woke up in Harvey's clinic, where he gave his usual "I just did emergency surgery on you" speech, promptly passed the hell out again a split second later when the clock struck 2:00, and woke up in my farmhouse with a second bill from Harvey.

Carrots sell for as much as a Parsnip (i.e. not much) but replenish a whopping 75 energy when eaten, even at normal quality. They're great for that purpose, as hinted in their description, to keep you doing stuff until Salmonberry season.
Much later, you can feed a carrot to your horse to make it run slightly faster for the rest of the day.

Dead crops can be cleared away easily with one swipe of the scythe. Live crops are unaffected by the scythe unless they're the kind to be harvested by the scythe, and only when ripe

So you can easily check if a crop is dead, by swinging your scythe

Iirc what happens is age entirely resets when replanting a tree so it still has to go back thru silver and gold tier, just faster

The sapling will remember the highest quality the tree has ever been i think? to clarify further

Aging a tree to silver and then cutting it down for the silver quality sapling multiplier and replanting it is like half a year faster than leaving it up to age to iridium in one go
