Sandfish is going to be particularly tricky because it just barely qualifies for 23"

Parrot for normal battles, when you know you'll be killing many. Maybe fairy or frog before you get a parrot at a decent level.

Yeah, the amazing thing honestly is that it's also incredibly time efficient. You generally just go Coopmaster and don't process the eggs, because processing them generates so little extra money it's not worth the time (you'd be better off lava eel fishing or something). Every coop you have with this setup makes ~26k per day total, and you can harvest like... once every 5 years if you want and not lose any money doing so

Yeah I always save 10-15 non star crops y1, 15-25 y2, and after that I save for cooking
I don't really prioritise cooking until y3, I much prefer just regular crops and artisanal goods

Nah, they're usually same breed. Juicers, tinners, pulpers, etc. just buy the blemished and damaged fruit because it's cheaper and doesn't affect the taste or appearance of the final product. It's how farmers offload the low grade fruit.
