Yes, they are mod managers. All you do is install them, and download the mods trhoguh them, simple to use

Yeah, even if you are using the mod manager, you can still launch vanilla.

All you do is hit the download, and the rest is done. Downloads dependencies, everything. Most likely if something doesn't work, it's not your fault (if using mod manageR)

Yep, you’ll need to ban and restart your lobby a good 5-10 times before you can usually get one good run initially and even then they’ll try to join half-way through

1. Start at Thunderstore BepInExPark This is kind of like a base mod that allows the other mods to load in a way

I go for Manual Download.

Locate your game files,
From what I remember it will be under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PEAK
Mine are at D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\PEAK as I use a 2nd SSD for games
Place all the items in the "BepInExPack_PEAK" into that folder ^

Start your game and once your at the home screen close it (This was to load files and let it do some setting up)

2. You should now see "Plugins" folder in the "BepInEx" folder
   Download any mods you wish and place the .dll into this folder
   Once you launch the game it will do the setup for any mods installed
   Such as place their configs in the "Config" folder to edit as you please

3. Here is a list of Mods I currently use

Should Download Mods as both player and host
Peak Unlimited The most popular mod everyone uses as this raises the player count to 20 (Can be used as player)
Was told this is in peaker and peaker is better as it has bug fixes that peskunlimited does not
Peaker This is for detecting hackers and stuff (Can be used as player and helps host detect hackers)
PEAKAntiCheat Goes with Peaker (Can be used as player and helps host detect hackers)

Quality of Life Mods for Players
Piggyback Allows you to pick up people that are alive (Only used by player, This also can allow you to BLOCK people from using this mod to pick you up while alive)
Dance Till You Drop This makes Emotes keep going until you move (Player Only)
Item Stats Just a little stats to understand food more when you hold an item it will say like +30$ Health and you can see if it will over heal you or not in a way (Player Only)

Quality of Life Mods for Host
Item Multiplier Makes more items spawn in luggage (Host Only, Can be set as x2 x5 or x10, x2 is default)
MorePeak Random Map each time (Host Only, Can be turned on and off in lobby)
Reconnect Catchup People who join the game will be teleported to the lowest player on the map (Host only, I WOULD DISABLE THIS MOD WHEN NOT HOSTING AS IT SHOWS AS HACKER IF YOU ARE JUST A PLAYER)

I'd recommend removing the manual installation of BepInEx and installing a mod manager like r2modman or gale and just use that to launch modded

you'll also be able to launch the game in vanilla by doing that

and have multiple different mod profiles

Something that I’d heavily suggest to spice things up would be to download Peaker and go into the config, you can set the player number back down to 4 if you want but that’s not what I’m referencing.

Scroll farther and you’ll see “tornadoes” enable that bad boy for some chaos in any lobby you host and nobody else needs to download it

If it has any special things (like lava or extra geysers) then yes, it could be the hardest. But if its terrain, that doesn't really matter a lot, due to terrain randomizer.

is the save manager mod broken ? if you load from the airport then you just get stuck infinitely falling after loading in and if you load a save when already in a game then atleast 1 player in the party gets sent to the wrong location, items get mixed up weirdly and somehow my bingbong is always burned ? also most of the time i cant even load a save because the mod gets stuck on "loading game data" or something similar
