Tenderfoot: There is no timer (fog). Hunger builds slower. Climbing takes less stamina, you do not get a new sash for peaking

Base difficulty: Fog will start to rise at a certain height on each biome, you need to light the campfire to stop it. It will inflict frost effect if it reaches you. After lighting Alpines campfire there is no more fog, you do not get a new sash for peaking

Ascent 1: ||increased fall damage, you get green sash for peaking||
Ascent 2: ||hunger builds faster, you get black sash for peaking||
Ascent 3: ||items weigh more, you get brown sash for peaking||
Ascent 4: ||flares don't spawn at peak, you get red sash for peaking||

The map changes every day.

In addition to the map changing, things like suitcases, mushrooms, scrolls, capybara etc., are generated in specific areas.

At each campfire located throughout the game's zones, a scroll can appear. Sometimes more than one scroll may spawn, just one, or none at all.

There is a badge that you earn by reading all 8 different scrolls. To make it count, you must open each scroll and press the "Inspect" button.

you have to read the 4 in the first two areas before you can move on to the Alpine's entries

you can also store them to read later in different biomes, so if it spawns in Shore or Tropics you could get it done in 1 day if you have the patience

i believe scroll spawn changes with each day, so if there are no scrolls today you have to wait for tomorrow

One daily generation that spawns scrolls can do it, it'll take 8 runs (minimum) though

Sometimes people beat you there and open scrolls you've already seen 😭

they always spawn at the campfires, and it depends on the seed whether they spawn or not. you can pick up a scroll and carry it to whichever biome you need since there is a specific order they need to be opened in. there was a map 2 days ago that had 2 scroll spawns but thats pretty rare and idk when itll happen again\
