You can use items like the lantern, portable stove, heat packs, and scorch berries to decrease cold.

Additionally, for solo play, it's good to know that the cold damage you get over night only amounts to 100% of your stamina bar. This means so long as you aren't very hungry or damaged if you drop all of your items you'll survive the night with a short sleep, even without warming up at all.

Otherwise in multiplayer you can huddle up with other players for warmth
