Try verifying game files first just in case however....

It is just usually due to your pc being below minimum specs or your graphics card not supporting the graphics.

First: make sure all your drivers are up to date (as some GPUs have recently pushed driver updates to provide support for PEAK)
Then: Try launching on both vulkan and dx11 instead of dx12, and turn all graphics settings to minimum.**

this is the worst verified game I have ever played. How is there no matchmaking in this game? Joining through the browser doesn't work on steamdeck and seems to have had issues for months before release but it still somehow get verified.

Yeah. Which did nothing. You can do it exactly as you did before. If you're unlucky, you need to adjust the cannon placement by a couple degrees.
