You can easily find a safe spot to pass out in the shore and tropics during the night and save some lantern usage. Just drop all your stuff on a flat surface and be well fed, one night covers 1 full stamina bar so you won't die unless you got some other stuff going on. Pick up scorchberries and cook them for alpine unless you got the fog(find a good route) on your tail you should be good with that

2. look laterally before vertically - do you have the best route?
3. once you're in the tropics, don't hesitate to spend your resources. especially playing solo, you will (usually) find more!
