Turns out i wasn't updating animal pages at all. Testing it out now
Animal lists and infoboxes updated now
Done
The materials list page was also updated btw
@serene sage I think thats all of the defined clothing and beards?
Or more specific all of the zombies/characters with events
Awesome that'll save a lot of time
epic
not sure if's something on our side seeing as you are the first translator so far? Usually @proud cobalt or @digital helm are the best figuring them out π
BTW, I'm not sure we're at that point, as in requires adjusting links, something for SYF I believe so I guess @proud cobalt again for that, but something I think I never trouched is how I think https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Tiles&redirect=no should be a redirect to https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Tile eventually, maybe that file will get more attention later down the line, as we stated calling things just like they are in-game and only covering movable furniture, but since the page was originally called "Tiles" there may still be some links that point them expecting for it to be furniture.
Actually, seems it's just 80 pages? Can be done manually for sure, not sure if we want to bother with botting it? https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Special:WhatLinksHere/Tiles&limit=500
btw, I cleaned up https://pzwiki.net/wiki/undeniable.info following the B42 addition of Tools, if someone's willing to finish the page with the character planner, be my guest, for now I added improve with things that needs to be done π
A little niche page, but sometimes someone pops on it, and it's kinda kept for historical reasons, even @lucid junco popped on it (and not during project history, which I think where this page should belong mostly, unless nolan update stuff, we got a late update for 41.78.16 but I believe nolan is busy with other stuff nowadays)
I fixed the template loop, it was a me issue i misnamed one of the strings. But now it only shows the first string and idk why
Not worth botting, too easy to break. It's only 80 pages haha. Once everything is moved sure we can redirect it to Tile
It's just that weird template transclusion thing when it's in the doc page (something about template depth limit has always been my assumption). Seems to work good on the actual content pages
Probably so, i should've checked that
Thank youuuu!
Np
When ppl use wordplay like in this thursdoid I cringe so bad, idk why this time I was giggling like a dumbass
Question. Should the "item (tag)" pages in translations be a different page? Imo they all should link to english since those are being automatically updated, at least until the stable?
They should probably all be English because the item tags are codenames rather than actual words.
as in the names themselves or the whole pages like https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Mufflesneeze_(tag) ?
Because if we don't plan on translating them at all, then the {{LangSwitch}} should be removed.
I changed https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Noise to a table and removed some duplicates and cleaned formatting. Not sure how the section should be named, I named it as "Volume" https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Noise#Volume but if anyone things it might be adjusted, feel free.
There are for sure more sound source that could be added, like more metagame volumes (I added helicopter), crafting (aren't noise defined in the game files? Maybe @proud cobalt knows), some sources are noted but without values.
I was thinking about adding radius in addition to volume too.
Also, I think lighfooted and nible doesn't explain how much they modify the noise, and is it just crouching, or walking, or runinng or sprinting or combat stance?
Some future adjustments could be usful too, but the page is in better shape than it was thanks to the edits of https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Special:Contributions/Maugan22 β thanks π
I think the volume/radius separation would benefit the page actually
Seems that https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Lightfooted actually have explanation and values π
We currently have sprinting, walking and crouching though, two stances are missing β running (as in not sprinting) and combat stance
I'm also not sure now, but does all the shoes have the same volume? I remember reading about walking barefeet being quieter
I'd be OK with that. @digital helm thoughts?
Also, if they'd not be translated indeed, I guess {{ll}} in see also makes no sense? (I changed a bunch).
Although they do have usage, so something that end user would definitely wnat to reac in their own languageβ¦
Currently. the tag pages right now are kinda similar different to the regular item pages I guess. On one hand the names aren't user-facing (and people come access them only from links I guess, I don't think anyone searches for tag explicitly), but on the other hand the usage and item list is something that a regular player (not modder) would definitely value π€.
We had one user adding usage to all the jewelry ones, I wanted to go and add usage to them (still do, I just can't find the time for it :P)
We use skin-invert-image, but I think the old logo-dark works too. We kinda never settled that afterwards: #pzwiki_editing message
is there a way to invert a logo only for light theme?
logo-light will do that currently
logo-dark and skin-invert-image do the same, the latter is a built-in functionality we discovered afterwards π dark and light is what Vail added back then
I mean this logo fully works in dark mode but not in light mode
so i thought if there's a setting that only reverts it on light user theme
@digital helm Maybe add the ability to go back up with footnote?
Wikipedia has that and its pretty convenient
for now our footnotes just scroll you down
And also something for multi footnote
won't logo-light help with that though?
isn't one of them just a higher resolutiion version? Seems the same otherwise
We actually do have that, I never noticed that it requires special formatting actually. I think I spoke with Vail about formatting footnotes, but I never went into actually adjusting that, see https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Upcoming_versions#References
Yeah thats for references
I think footnotes would also benefit from that
ah yeah nvm, I think it was a way to format {{ref}} vs <ref> but it's not that indeed π€.
Are you sure wikipedia has it for footnotes too? Mind linking page for pzwiki and wikipedia as an example?
(that or actually code used for us and in wikipedia)
I think footnotes on wikipedia might actually be refs? Quickly skimming through https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Footnotes
This page explains how to create the Footnotes section for Wikipedia articles. In this context, the word "Footnotes" refers to the Wikipedia-specific manner of documenting an article's sources and providing tangential information, and should not be confused with the general concept of footnotes. This how-to does not cover the formatting of citat...
Closest thing I can find myself
and theyt use {{reflist}}
No wait
yeah they use {{reflist}}
It'd be https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Reflist vs our https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Footnote β feel free to take a look at the code/documentation and compare (or even experiment in sandbox if you want), but yeah ultimately Vail would be the most helpful I guess π€.
Maybe I'll take a look, though I'm mostly catchin up with this month's changes π
Pinging @proud cobalt for I think you are mostly deep into items nowadays and we talked about it here previously (not sure if anyone paid attention, original discussion here: #pzwiki_editing message) , but when I was updating Megaphone page https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Megaphone&diff=1335179&oldid=1327387 , I started wondering if it's worth mentioning it in the page? I'd instinctively say that yeah, but that's a lot of duplicated/manual work on what generally should be in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Hasmetal_(tag) but for items that are decorational only it is the only purpose. Kinda similar to how tinder/fire is. Maybe we can rethink botting some parts of it in the end too?
More like an open suggestion/letting know of possible issue for standardization/things to follow/correct users from π
With more stuff behind tags, we might, however, encounter similar stuff in the future, e.g., how megaphone got a usage based on a tag https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Megaphone_(tag) but we failed to update the description and where infobox and history was up to date, but the usage required manual input.
Maybe we can extrapolate tags usage and automate usage on the user pages based on that? Probably something for Lua migration I guess for @digital helm to let know too?
How do you add it?
in infobox? {{!}}class=logo-light, see https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=The_Kentucky_Herald&action=edit
added that π https://pzwiki.net/wiki/The_Darkwallow_Lake_Guest_House
I cleaned up the vehicle page's new noise info (great info btw), https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Vehicle&diff=1335205&oldid=1333841
I finally removed the "Common issues", it was updated Updated 06/25/2023 so is only relevant to B41 anyway which is in the archived page. If there are still some issues, they should be reported as bugs.
@proud cobalt this https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Race_Car&curid=162225&diff=1321897&oldid=1314865 was since reverted by a bot, is the car really 4-seater?
It indeed has two, this is the output from the parser though. @digital helm handles the vehicle parsing
|name=Race Car
|image=RaceCar12_Model.png
|manufacturer=Unknown
|vehicle_type=Sports
|seats=4
|doors=2
|wheels=4
|trunk_type=Trunk
|weight=800
|occupant_protection=0.8
|glove_box_capacity=5
|trunk_capacity=20
|total_storage=105
|engine_power=700 hp
|engine_loudness=90
|engine_quality=80
|top_speed=120
|roll_influence=0.7
|suspension_stiffness=40
|offroad_efficiency=1
|mesh=vehicle_racecar
|vehicle_id=Base.RaceCar12
|infobox_version=42.14.1
}}```
btw, not sure you want to add it to tasks, but there are still some tags to replace, the vehicle ones should be easy with bot @proud cobalt ? https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Special:WantedTemplates
like Template:Tag Wrench β Template:Tag wrench
Hmm these should have been done already
Maybe it's the vehicle parser's issue too?
Vehicle fixes going up now then let the cache update for wanted templates
the "|category=[[Literature|Skill Book]]" in pages like https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Tailoring_IV:_"Modern_Patterns_from_the_Catwalks_of_Paris" is autogenerated too, right?
I think it should list to [[Skill book|Skill Book]] (or we want to move Skill Book again to Title Case as I think that's the actual name shown :D)
Then there's Recipe Resouce in pages like https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Magazine:_Laines_Standard_Auto_Manual which should lik to https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Recipe_magazine (which we can rename too)
@languid kayak The rest of the wanted tag templates should be clearing cache shortly
All done
gonna clean this up, but maybe we should have more instruction on what parts to remove after filling usage? https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Firecrackers&curid=124315&diff=1324135&oldid=1304143
I noticed a bunch of folks leaving the usage behind untouched too.
Are the effect filled by a bot too in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Explosive ? Firecrackers should probably have "Noise" in them
I noticed all the weight traits pages said they could be chosen in character creation
so i went through and reworded all of them to reflect them being removed
from char creation
Sneaky bastard
Seahorse coffee is at 20 locations now
Btw @languid kayak @digital helm is there a way to bump certain pages higher than others?
Eg Zippee Market is something that people will definitely want to look up more than Zippee Counter
You can do disambig/redirect, other than that I think not?
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Zippee is free, we can redirect that to market and ten put {{About}} in it
There's waaayyyyy more advantages to using the VSCode extension for wiki text tho π
Wait it's for the Java ?
yep
what do you mean it didn't 'output' comments?
it just didn't show them
did you use an in-built decompiler with vscode? that would just be zomboid decompiler being better since it's specialised
it's not really to do with the ides
I used some sort of plugin before
The game didn't allow you to retrieve comments before 42.13 if I'm not mistaken
Only since they made it a .jar
comments are not stored in the files whatsoever
compiled java files have no way (or reason) to store comments
Uh ?
because zomboid decompiler adds them
they aren't actually in the game files whatsoever
Add them from what ?
Where do they come from ? From the JavaDocs ?
they're scraped from the javadocs
there aren't as many as you think, and a few of them are actually written by me
keep in mind this means we only have documentation comments that would show up on javadocs, not in-code comments which would likely make up the majority of comments in the actual TIS source code
btw, I'm seeing a bunch of translators removing {{Title}} and changing it back to {{DISPLAYTITLE}}, I think it's from the visual editor, letting you know that @digital helm https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Project_Zomboid_Wiki/zh-hans&diff=next&oldid=1316979 (and further edits adding the DISPLAYTITLE a few times) or https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Ammo/pl&diff=prev&oldid=1334315
I guess we're still sticking to {{Title}} though, right?
Seems it's this option
the "Title" template also changes the sort key
oh interesting
One user translated https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:Indie_Wiki_Buddy/zh-hans β the original page doesn't have {{LangSwitch}} β do we want to translate that? Also, I've been wondering, shouldn't the page be in the main namespace instead of the PZwiki: where it is now? Pinging @gloomy glen for that mostly
@digital helm are animals supposed to be in both https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Domestic_animals and the main https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Animals category? (Also your sandbox is there too :D)
@proud cobalt is the loot section of the gunpowder indeed incomplete? https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Gunpowder&curid=10681&diff=1332981&oldid=1326535 Right now it indeed has just the foraging section
Foraging and recipes, seems correct to me
removed the improve notice then
I just realized that I marked https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Header as deprecated but it's still used for categories π
https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Maggots&curid=19697&diff=1335137&oldid=1298203 β isn't that the case for all maggots?
I reverted most of it keeping just that bit https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Inventive&diff=1335965&oldid=1308961 βΒ seems the generator part was present before too
Added {{Verify}} to it for now π
Brought it back to 2 for now, gotta keep an eye for it until we fix the underlying issue https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Race_Car&diff=prev&oldid=1335971
I assumed other cars are two-seaters too
@lucid junco not sure if you want to tackle that? https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:AMZ_Steel_logo.png (from Toadstars used in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/AMZ_Steel β I think it just needs background removal and maybe some cropping?
Ill fix it later
I just stumbled upon https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Wadsworth_Lake
Wadsworth Lake, previously called Neil's Lake is a lake.
Type Pond
Not sure we have anyone from pt-br here, but I marked https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Legend_firearm/pt-br to rework, as it was translated manually instead of using the translation guide it seems
btw @proud cobalt I think I asked before, but can we even categorize these? https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Special:UncategorizedTemplates doing the regular <noinclude> results in an error when editing π€
https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Template:Header&diff=prev&oldid=1336233 updated that, I think I got everything right but letting you @proud cobalt and @digital helm know so you can check after me in free time (just the documentation changed, not the actual template :))
I think it'd be better for it to have a main namespace, and I don't see the problem with translating it adding langswitch. The extension itself has been translated, so imo it makes sense(?)
I think I'll move it to the main namespace, unless there's a specific reason you wanted it in PZwiki namespace @proud cobalt? Not sure whether we discussed that or not back then π
Okay, it's that time again: monthly wiki summary! <@&1205891296565268520> https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:News#February_2026_summary
Don't want this ping? Remove the wiki editor role in id:customize
mom get the camera!
β π π€
a
I'll need to take a look at these categories still
i thought that said murph get the camera and i was like this is not interstellr
solid work this month everyone!\
Im not sure you can as they're json page types. They're also super WIP still, i was looking at them again recently
Looks good to me
Yeah it's worded weirdly. And the visual edit made the template on the same line too. I fixed up the formatting and wording
I don't have any issues with that
updated https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Indie_Wiki_Buddy and cleaned up a little βΒ might need some cleanups akin to https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Wiki_That! or similar pages though
Splitting https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Build_40 is finished too btw. Not sure if I'll go further splitting Build 39 and so on, as it's PITA. I might go straight to the oldest builds to clean them up though.
Although without splitting builds 39- there are some redlinks liks in the history and similar pages
whoa how is the summary generated
is it automatic from notes in changelogs or manually put together?
(apologies if this is common knowledge)
handmade π
As I go through all the changes since 2023 anyway, and just take notes, though I wrote so many at that point that they might look similar tbf π
oh wow that is dedication
but having consistent style probably both makes them easier to read and write
right
Faal has been doing the summaries every month since February 2023, he manually checks every edit to the wiki for both quality and to credit them at the end of the month.
Which actually marks 3 years now @languid kayak since your first summary / newsletter in Feb 2023 π
The vehicle section mistakenly lists the race car as having 4 seats lol https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Vehicle
Yeah we're aware Ty, being looked at as to why
Created a new navbox (Navbox location types) and placed it on all general location pages (e.g. Gas station, Hardware store...) for better navigation between them. Also included red links for pages which are yet to be created (like Post office, Barber shop, and such). In some instances, I replaced the unwieldy Navbox Locations with it, as in most cases, the former did not aid navigation much (that navbox mostly includes only specific, named locations).
Hopefully it's a change for the better
What is the wiki policy on business chains? Are locations with the same logo counted as the same chain, even if they have an incredibly generic name (e.g. Diner, Bakery)? It seems like it by checking those pages (although one page mentions it's unsure whether it is a chain or the locations merely use the same logo)
(Bakery, to be exact)
qute a ballsy move
Unless Ive missed the part where youve asked @naive imp locations leader
or any other leader at least
If it has a sign its a part of the chain
Or a "named" business overall
In the future, please do not massively alter pages like this without consulting people. Did you overwrite the entire navbox??
Sign -> roomdef -> theming -> other indicators
No its still there
No, I just created a new one
Theres just now also a https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Navbox_location_types
Ok. Navbox locations should be re-added to all pages it was removed from imo. We could have both, dont see why not, and have them in a section titled navigation so it is collapseable
The reason for this is because we like to list literally everything
I am working atm I will be able to elaborate more once im off today and have time to edit
Honestly Im quite fond of simpler navbox
Alright, I'll re-add it
The one that is closer to the business section in regions
s
What the
They had added more tiles
@serene sage @languid kayak
I only finished with old posters
on a brighter side we now have more bases for easter eggs
True
Ive done 3 sheets of posters that were added in 42.13-42.14
they might have added them in 42.14.1
these are still only in the game files though right?
i havent played the game since january so cant say
But honestly there are so many
and they are recnent aditions
so most likely they are still only in files
But here at wiki we work in advance
I just hope they wont change much
I think I wasn't as consistent at the beginning but a milestone anyway π
@tulip kiln finally got some photos for music bands
Joe Johnson is a MJ reference
Speaking of working in advance
Were getting new locations
soonβ’
pzwiki editors working in advance by making a stub article for build 49:
this is the average rural kentucky farmer's version of a free candy van
fresh eggs
π
Wow they're all Zomboid people
Is this guy wielding a Tommy gun???
tommy gun in zomboid confirmed
That's 100% tony montana from scarface hell yeah
I completely forgot that movie existed until now
My favorite Payday 2 character
I still remember watching scarface and no long after carlito's way. It was an experience. Also why was my dad showing me those movies when I was a kid is something I will never know
It looks more AK like
Evil TIS be like: We'll use just one implementation of a mechanic in the game for consistency and coding sake
There are no future feature Easter eggs in the posters

damn
We didnt even get posters and they are already cancelled
my brain rebooted trying to comprehend this
It's simple. No feasture future eggs in poster easter
You mean future easter feature poster eggs are no more?

No fuster creature eggs!
No future. Easter eggs in the posters.
so...
and also, how to archive in translated pages?
And should translations even be archieved
I removed it, it's very outdated anyway
Just the English pages should have the archive link, it's done by a bot
Tysm for answers
Np

Should the notice this clothing can't be repaired be removed from trivia though?
I think it is useful to have this information be on pages, but I see that it was removed on certain ones
If not in trivia, then it can become a part of items inbox

@proud cobalt @flat sun @flint vapor (Sorry Idk who to ping about code anymore)
So I think I found where zomboid gets skin colour for zombies that can be used
But Idfk how to interpret it
its either 0-4 or arbitrarily 1-5
.
So far ive seen 1 and 4 as values
so I cant confirm either of these
I'd assume 0 to 4
Must be enums probably
Did you check the setSkinTexyureIndex function ?
I also suggest using IDEA (which I don't is what you use rn) to navigate the Java code
Way easier to search the Java files with it
what does Will be deleted after removal from all pages mean?
what exactly will be deleted? The mbox?
so after removal from all pages means after removing references to deprecated page?
what image?

The unofficial mapping community has all tiles added in 42.14 btw. Would have save you a lot of time using those than having to line up all these tiles manually π
doesn't help me as much as @proud cobalt
I donβt understand what that means
I mean I only need lined up signs, but he may need lined up tiles as a project furniture leader
Ah well thatβs what I meant by using the tiles the mapping community has. Could be an idea to consider looking at to make adding wiki stuff easier regarding tiles.
i had lost a couple of signs over time so might be useful if you share it with us
Donβt think we are allowed to share download files here, but they can be found in the unofficial mapping server.
you can send a link to either my dms
That's how I understand it. You're a translator if I'm not mistaken? In cases where a page have "deprecated", if it's the full page it'll say which article shall be used so I link those in the translation instead
It's an old description back when it applied to templates, I fixed that and updated other mboxes' descriptions while at it, a lot of them got sections too π
yeah, you're guessing right. But I needed it to translate deprecated's own section in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:Mboxes
My deepest gratitude!
Now it's much more clear.
Also, is it a new norm of pagemaking? I mean the usage of space after every colon and semicolon and spaces in headers (such as == Usage ==)
Im using notepad++ with java plugin
π
Β―_(γ)_/Β―
Im not a coder
for whatever reason Kirsty spawns naked
But she is in fact black
I have no idea why she is naked if JJ is fine but ig zomboid coding
Okay Frank is also naked
and notably hes not guaranteed to spawn with his id
just his wallet
At least dean has some decency
duke is also okay
hm
both of these are correct
we changed the headers to use spaces some time ago, it should be noted in the style guide, but you can still see some old exsmples here and there (doesn't matter for display, but bots and some editors corrwct them while doing other changes).
As far as colon goes, these are namespaces. In-game stuff is in main space, but templates, categoties, organizational stuff etc. is in namespaces that use them. Page title csnnot have : for that reason. Semicolon can be used, but such characters rarely appear in names (books, vhses, maybe other media)
step up from the no shirt for woodcut guy (jeremiah iirc?)
@languid kayak I want to put every researchable recipe into the wiki, I.E you can learn this recipe from researching this item
Where would be a good place to put that, formatting wise
It should probably be on the page of the item you want to learn the recipe of
My original thought was in the "requirements" tab, but some items like shiv have like 20 things you can research to learn its recipe
so itd get too cluttered
I'd wait for @digital helm or @proud cobalt to take a look, as I think we already parse that in individual pages? We have pzwiki pages like for stuff like that https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:Item_list
as far as i know theres no recipes learned via researching on wiki at all
on the item page itself
the main issue is, if you are trying to figure out how to learn a recipe, you want it on the item page itself, not what you research it from
since if you already knew where it came from you wouldnt need the info, yknow?
yeah I see it now
Latest style guide is not translated in my language yet, gotta work on it one day
There's some minor nits not added to the style guide we decided on Discord, I think it's just a few things, from the top of my head it was . after image descriptions (new style guide, a month or so ago) and something else I forgot, if you search for "style guide" in here, you'll see mostly my discussions about it
We last revised it during the 2025 PZwiki Review in September
Basically this is used to refer to a page that is in the process of being phased out for another page. That's what the parameters in the mbox are for.
Once the deprecated page has had all links to it removed/redirected to its successor, or is otherwise no longer used or superseded, the page can be marked for deletion by a standard user by using {{delete}}, or deleted immediately by an administrator.
Typically we use it for templates and images that are in the process of being replaced, but it is also used on various other pages too.
I was doing so good updating the translation of the main pages and somehow someone rewrote the whole fishing page to match trapping. I was not expecting to undo 8 months tonight. Could be worse, I guess (?)
Welp, i guess it's less stressful to translate the whole thing from scratch
Bro where is the paper clip
DEAN WOULD NEVER LIE BRO
The skill pages are something that needs love but no one has enough time to update to a proper state π©. B42 is getting more and more stable, but the unstable nature of B42 doesn't help here either, but these pages definitely needed B42 rewrites and nothing there is automated and are so big that require a good chunk of time to properly write, none of us admins never got to them for that reason (if anyone is up for the task, to coorinate that as a part of B42 project, Calvy is the leader and I believe would love to see help on the project, I didn't spend much time there personally).
There are some changes in the main page too, most notable is Tech Support and FAQ changes, which I went ahead and changed incorporating Beard's work, but did not finished yet, so keep an eye for it. I'll probably do a ping for that too, but basically Tech Support page hosts what was in FAQ previously and FAQ was changed too:
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Tech_Support
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Frequently_Asked_Questions
while https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Multiplayer_FAQ won't be used anymore (keeping it if we want to move things around, you may salvage some translations there too).
I also want to refresh some main page and translation stuff when there's some time
He did not
Maybe he lost it after being bitten, Dean would never lie
Someone stole Dean's paperclip! Who'd dare!
@thin cloud I know it may sound weird but what colour is canonical for Richard Rosenwald (aka mayor of West Point)?
This is how he is on flier vs how he is in game
Im not sure we can get that colour in game anyway?
I mean the middle colour is too light and darker colours are too dark
@proud cobalt @languid kayak @digital helm (sorry but idk who to ping with that idea) maybe include {{clear}} above every navbar section so it looks better on shorter pages?
needs more red circles
Flier is canon, flier has more advanced art available like the wrinkles on his face too
I'd assume flier is the way to go, as survivors we got are mostly placeholders/can easily be changed?
We could do this, but I'm sure we used to (for something else?) I vaguely remember it making the issue worse or more obvious
not sure how could it make it worse, apart from bigger gap between left column of text and navbox
meant to respond to this
i mean it would supposedly just move Navbox header below infobox
Yeah, I can't remember. Thoughts? @proud cobalt @languid kayak
I agree that would be helpful. I assumed we already did this, but it's just the 'recipe' from researching that item. A list of items that could be researched to learn the recipe would indeed be helpful.
The requirements section is probably too big already, but a normal bulleted list should probably be fine in that Researchable recipes section, or a new related section? @proud cobalt
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Shiv#Researchable_recipes
yeah i know exactly where to find em all, just dk where to put em thatd work best
Yeah, I'd wait for Calvy's thoughts since he put together the crafting tables. We could easily parse them all and automate (and update) with the bot
This is very doable, i will see if i can get it done today as we already parse the research recipes.
It will just be a different section, likely under obtaining
perfect, let me know if you need anything
Yeah we used to do it for navboxes, we actually still do it's just in the template now afaik. It was a huge hassle to upkeep it on individual pages for utlimately not much gain
Definitely needs to be collapsible
Looks great
Its good enough atm, i wanted it to be centered but like collapsibles in tables in collapsibles in a lua module... Yeah it'll do lol
Yeah collapsibles are painful enough just on their own π
I think it's best to mark these as {{Bug}} btw so they will be categorized in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Known_game_bugs
i mean thats not really a bug
I think it's fine, we're doing it in templates, right? The only place they are used other than the pages is templates themselves
Ah, I see π
Maybe a trivia then
I am happy to announce I will have time to get back to editing tonight
congratulations
I'm going to run the bot for a first run overnight, but there have been some changes to loot which will need adjusting on the script side. It's 2am though and i don't have the capacity to do that math rn
Note to self when i wake up, Ranged weapons have a 2.0 loot modifier, keys have a 0.4 modifier, everything else is 0.6
@rotund echo
I know
How i always played anyway
pop loot should be removed too (yeah, we got a blog as well!) https://projectzomboid.com/blog/news/2026/03/some-new-things/
Hello Survivors, we hope your barricades are holding strong! Today weβre releasing Build 42.15 Unstable, and along with a big list of fixes, balancing, multiplayer stability improvements, and new items, we have two big content updates for you to wade into, with your baseball bats swinging (or axes β axes work too): Game Mode Refresh [β¦]
the only true way π I'm the no-respawn guy myself
man apocalypse got such a nice glow up now
apocalypse pretty much raise me into the semi-competent PZ player now
pretty nice that a bunch of the settings people use to tweak from apoc is now set by default
Did you know in Apoc, gun spawns are set to 2.0 now?
Oh yeah, 33% of the zombies can open doors too btw
holy moly
gotta lock your doors now
Actually, on a second thought
I tried in Apoc mode to see if they really opened doors
Seemingly they don't?
strange
So idk what that setting means
I think it only applies when βCognitionβ is set to Navigate and Use Doors
else the game probably ignores it
I think they actually jacked up M16 spawns, like, a LOT
yea #pzwiki_editing message and the are 40% and the rest is 60% it seems, making skill books even rarer π©
Unless something changed that is, I played a little while ago, but last time I had real trouble finding the tailoring books
So it seems the video thumbnail here is fucked for unknown reasons
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Lua_(API)#Video_guide
It doesn't use the correct one
<@&671452400221159444>
wtf is going on tonight
Wait that's so fucked, Discord makes that an embed invite when it's not a full link lol
Everything was 0.6 in B42, was 0.4 in B41
Yeah in gonna have to significantly adjust how the loot chance works on the wiki
Real
Oh something changed with them alright, ever since 42.0.0
Im so close to having loot working properly. It is spot on for everything except ranged weapons
Ok loot updating now
Also the new guns are up on the wiki
@rotund echo In case you're interested

@digital helm @languid kayak https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Martin's_Essentials_%26_Laundry
Any idea why it has this empty other section in the infobox?
Oh
i have an idea
yeah... thats not a valid tag
i mean it is but its not used
huh
so using number_of_stores results in an empty Other infobox
And number of locations does not show up at all
Reminds me of
I was muted by automod
so i wont send pics, but its on every page that uses number_of_stores
there's that Base.Pistol2;Base.TrapperCarbine thingy in both the ammo page and the magazine one @proud cobalt
How on earth did all the others work and this one break
Ill try have a look at this when i get a chance
im looking at the wilderness survival mag spawn locations and the top result "outdoorsupply" inside "shelvesmag" doesnt appear to exist
i cant find outdoorsupply on the b42 map, nor can i find any shelvesmag
That's right, many of the locations either don't exist and never existed, existed at one point and have been removed, or will exist in the future
They may also exist on modded maps if used by the creator
i see, tyty
Forgot to send that yeserday btw, but thanks a lot for updating the main pages for me btw @gloomy glen π Saved me some work yesteday β€οΈ
While being only in LV, WP March ridge and Riverside
By 3 locations
damn
Okay this is weird
number_of_stores and number_of_locations dont show up
but number_of_restaurants does
Looks great!
@naive imp Just to be sure, in locations, our template is
Short desc

or

For business chains
Generally speaking yeah
Also of course when I announce I have time to edit i have to fix my friends truck lol
Ugh
But tonight SHOULD be good assuming no bullshit happens
Its just that some pages have gallery before trivia and adverts, and other have it after
Those pages are probably older by edit date. I did ping pong on the order for a bit.
At one point I didn't really care but with the amount of pages we have they need to be completely identical for navigation sake
Feel free to adjust it
Maybe we also need to update boilerplate to include them
I thought I did?
Oh wait you mean the adverts nvm
Yeah i dont recall adding those in
And trivia
Feel free to add if you want
Boilerplate doesnt mention them, I vividly remember discussing that trivia should be below gallery
But not sure about adverts
so thats why im asking
Adverts i don't really care where you put them. Above trivia seems fine
alright so
Gallery
Adverts
Trivia
Seahorse Island certified π
I did had that issue before, it's to be solved on the template's code, I fixed one in the past, best for @digital helm to handle that, but if not, I might take a look laterβ’ too
Trivia are above gallery though in the style guide: https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Help:Style_guide#Trivia
uuuh
@naive imp?
Personally, I'm indifferent. I don't think its a massive deal but I'm likely the outlier in that
@proud cobalt @digital helm opinion?
I think bots are designed around trivia being over gallery (IIRC they will change the order of them)
I think we should rever that? Initially I though it was just changing links (which are wrong btw), but seems someone made a visual edit and added a column indicating which pages are translated (though they link to English pages?) https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Explosive/fr&diff=next&oldid=1336469 @gloomy glen for that
I still canβt be fully back sadly, but will return with full force next week due to spring break
congrats on your return Think
Well, it was mostly Toadstars and sharpgolden taking care of locations in the meantime π
Im extremely thankful.
Back to work. Got a lot to do still. We haven't even touched the challenge maps yet which is the focus after Knox country
Are challengers in B42 though? I think they will also get some b42 love down the road
most challenges are gone
pretty much just got CDDA and Last Stand Accumulator
and Winter is Coming I suppose
They are defined in game
but there are no maps yet
I suppose we can make retroactive mapping though
since main version is still b41 which has them
its better to have some page than none page
Would be nice if the https://map.projectzomboid.com/?desc=Kingsmouth_20191205_L0
map wasn't so ass
@rotund echo @proud cobalt Do we have a new unofficial wiki map for LV districts?
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/E.P._Tools
@tulip kiln E.P
Easy Pickins Tools
Yeah, should be reverted imo, it doesn't make sense to have that column when it'll show in the item once translated anyway
I think it turned out fine
Well, this is my version at least
Trivia should be above gallery imo
Yeah this definitely shouldnt be on an article
Looks really good
Only Toadstars one, i don't really have anything to do with mapping anymore, all in on items
I mean you did use it for districts on LV page so might as well upload it officially
@naive imp Pinging you for your opinion
No, LV page was still based on spawning map names
Done, and fixed the links while at it (though the page will most likely eventually be changed to B42 I guess if someone French translates that)
The farms south of LVIA are part of it too?
Hey, the LVIA district is just the "New Territories"
Yeah this looks good to me
@rotund echo and @lucid junco thanks a lot for the work yall did on locations while I was on break
Took a quick look at this, started fixing it but ran out of time. I'll fix it sometime this week
Trivia is textual info so is considered part of the main content, whilst a gallery interrupts the reading flow, especially with larger image blocks. Gallery often supports other parts of the main content, even trivia
Folks, did the AEBS numbers in-game broke in english too?
Yeah its broken atm
Ty!
I was playing 42.15.2 so yeah
This is moreso a question for wiki mods and more experienced players, but on the wiki page for the helicopter event the phrasing βThe helicopter event will occur between days 6-9, and between 9 A.M-8 P.M.β does this mean 6-9 days after the start regardless of wether it is adjusted, or does it go off of the βcanonβ days thatre mentioned for example on the life and living tv channel wiki page with day 1 being 07/09
Most likely is linked to the save start date
6-9 days from the whatever starting day you have
TV and radio is a bag of worms that is completely unrelated to other timed events in the game
Yeah i've reported it too
Along with all the broken UI
I've noticed ui being Λ’α΅α΅Λ‘Λ‘α΅Κ³
specifically the text
you can notice it in the main menu credits
Its from the start date
I added that following the discussion below, feel free to reword if unclear/have some errors π https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Helicopter&diff=prev&oldid=1347209
@versed dome I added the GOG forums to links in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Tech_Support#Contacting_tech_support since they technically are there, but I don't think these are much visited, but in general, I think that the preferred way to get support is forums, then Discord, then Steam and finally GOG? If so, maybe it'd be best to change order as such?
I do not visit them at all, so preferably people would use the TIS forums or Discord as an alternative
Okay, I'll paraphrase that there are Steam and GOG forums so people can search their support there, but for official ones, they ought to use forums on Discord
and to clarify, while the official support can be obtained on Steam, the preferred way is still Forums or Discord?
but judging from your wording it's like that π
(also minor, but I think "Tech Support" would be a proper noun/shorthand for the official tech support guys, so I guess it's better to capitalize it I guess?)
Updated π Also, in #1019767076094758924 the link still points to the old page, but I see you updated it in https://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php?/topic/92257-tech-support-important-links/ β not sure who can update it on Discord, can ask Sully if so π

probable error on the page for the Long mace
it is a long blunt waepon and it says condition scales off of short blunt
The navbox items has a few items with the {{sup|future}} but are already available (bellows, blacksmithing skill books, some magazines, i don't remember the others). should I give it a look and update it?
Yeah... We're kind of half way through developing a new Navbox but it's taking a bit longer than expected (mostly on me). If you'd like to update it you're welcome to, even if it's just to remove the future links
Will do then
Navboxes is something I constantly have in a back of my head as well, but yeah, I think it's just you taking care of it π Probably won't help much without getting deep into it (they are done in lua right now, right? I think I asked, but not sure if I got a reply?)
Only the outfits have the new style of Navbox, which does use Lua yeah
What's the barrier for the rest? Technical hurdles or just discussion? As if it's the latter, maybe it's something we can brainstorm with the community/project leaders (items can be the last, as it's the biggest, but can start with modding and locations are seeing some new navboxes thanks to Donytr), as well as lore and history projects (the history is what I dabble the most and currently we have no easy way to jump between builds other than going to the build xx page directly, so I guess navboxes could be useful there as well)
It's a really big project, there's a reason it's a whole plugin itself. Doing it properly. Plus having the motivation to work on it
so kinda part of https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:Project_Lua_Migration I guess?
https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Inventive&curid=142229&diff=1336585&oldid=1335965 might not straigh up remove this and subsequent edits, but I think it's at best superfluous?
Its kinda excessive
Wasn't analysis already removed once?
https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Inventive&diff=prev&oldid=1335965
Also yes, navboxes are part of lua migration
Iβve just added some extra details of animal tracks under tracking, if any grammar guys can go and make it look readable
Expanded the Winter Is Coming article, primarily added the Spawn Locations and Sandbox settings sections. Is the layout fine? I plan to expand other scenario articles later.
I'll take a look in a bit
@digital helm @languid kayak How do you do references on pages?
Not footnotes but references
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Max_Nuttall Updated but needs some wording changed
This should help https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Cite
For an example, this page uses them a lot https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Knox_Event#References
Cite makes it possible to add footnotes to a page.
See Extension:Cite for technical details.
Worst thing about updating profiles is that everything leads to linked in
Wait linked in is a social media?
Yeah linked in is a social media site, just aimed at business professionals
You can tell i havent used it

Yeah this is why I'm checking the location pages by edit date. Feel free to update it with new information
Wiki based mystery detective game just came out literally less than an hour ago if anyone's interested. It's very nostalgic if you used a computer pre ~2005
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4018950/Lost_Wiki_Kozlovka/
<ref> </ref>?
yeah, linkedin is behind login π©. I don't really use it, I should have an account here, but not using it for anything really. It because a social media, and a weird one
yup. It is now
I created an account when it wasn't π At least not to a degree it becamse. It had a data leak in the past too
oh neat, it realased! I saw Calvy playing it and downloaded a demo, still have it installed, but didn't play it yet in the end π
@flint vapor you may find this useful, has a lot of documentation related stuff in it
a lot of this is either wrong (shipped java version did not change, a few others also sound wrong to me but are too annoying to verify) or extremely specific to their mod π
i think most likely because it's not their mod originally they made some false assumptions about how it originally worked and catalogued all of those as changes
Oh this is very Ai BTW
Well happy to have a second view on this, bcs it didn't lool AI at first to me, but at the same time that's a lot of info no one will give a shit about since it's a lot of pure Java stuff
Whether the mod is Ai or not I can't say, but the write up definitely is. Emojis in the title, lots of em dash usage, using actual arrow characters, phrasing ("Why it's better" "why this works" etc)
Yea that's what made me think of that, the listing
yeah the lists flagged it to me too but i wasn't sure
when it's not as obvious as chatgpt is i get uncertain π
Exactly why I brought it to your attention. You guys can spot things like this that im not good with
Hmm. I should probably write up animal butchering and heads and brains some time. I'd probably need to go debug mode to research that.
@languid kayak does opening an URL from the mod manager work for you on Linux ?
for Wiki That! or in general?
You can test with Wiki That since it does the same call
Partially related to that:
https://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php?/topic/92993-42153-modinfopanelparamopenurl-mod-manager-ui-panel-doesnt-priorities-steam-overlay-for-opening-a-link/

Doing it from the Mod manager allows you to have that openUrl call which causes problems
But you can do it from the console too
openUrl("https://steamcommunity.com/app/108600/workshop/")
You can try that for example

hey gang
I noticed a little discrepancy in a page
looks like an issue with just copying over a templater
can you guys change that first line to the right version?
Fixed it, but in the future, do know you can fix that yourself too, you simply need to make an account
alrighty
loads that but can't load, but I'm having something in the background
Force the page to open in destop from the mod options
The overlay ik works
I need to know if the issue of opening it in the internet desktop app is a general Linux problem
Someone please correct me if im wrong but
Condition
The condition of a car battery is separate to the remaining power, although they can be easily mixed up. A car battery's condition determines its charge capacity and effectiveness at starting a vehicle engine. Lower condition batteries will hold less charge and fail to start the engine more often. Installed car batteries will never explode or catch fire.
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Car_Battery
I haven't found anything in the code, that suggests this is true, running most updated version of the game. so is the info on the wiki wrong? I say this because I think that if thats the case, it should get updated to not spread misinfo
as in condition does not affect battery life?
I haven't checked but I was the one who initially made those claims, and that page was created several years ago so it could be outdated. Feel free to do some testing to verify.
Yes, I havent found anything in the code that implies the condition influences anything.
At most, the value is accessed for a check in which 0% condition batteries are treated as if there was no battery, if I remember correctly.
But besides this, condition does not change anything. It would seem like 1% condition battery behaves the same as 100%. No change at all. I tested ingame too.
I tested at the most up-to-date version, and unless It was originally a feature, that then got scraped off on a later update, which seems unlikely, I think that it was never the case. So it wouldnt be a matter of being outdated, just of having always been make-believe
Either way, if its outdated feel free to update the page.
Oh yeah I did want to do that
But I think I cant? Says I have no permissions
Or I have to create an account ig
I'll try when I get home
yup, account is required to edit, but it should be easy to make one
You have to create an account. We disallowed non-account edits due to overwhelming input from automated spam bots.
No email or other PID is required to create an account, though an email is optional (and recommended as thats the only way to recover your account if you lose your password)
What font does the wiki use ?
That cache thing for images is kind of annoying when you try to test things out π₯²
Trying to use some Tikz generated images to make things less flashy and fit the wiki a bit better
Citizen skin uses Roboto
How long is the cache again ? π
Oh it was my local cache nvm
Ok that looks pretty nice
I'll set the font to Roboto and probably do my schemas this way now
Maybe add some color here and there
They look great π
Another one to check later after the website cache got reset
These look really nice
Hello, I'm still new to PZ, but I decided to nonetheless use the build 42 version. I do know the wiki is based on version 41, however I did also notice there was muscle strain on the health page which I heard started on build 42? Let me know if I'm wrong on that.
With that out of the way, onwards to my topic. The Health wiki has a muscle strain section that lists sources that can cause muscle strain, it seems to have missed out on exercising? Though it doesn't immediately cause muscle strain, it does seem to cause it after a few hours have passed.
The wiki is not based on B41
idk where you got that info
The whole thing is being updated to B42 since its release, every item page, recipes, even locations are B42 now
Oh I see, my bad. As for where I got that information from is the top of the pages tend to have this:
Also it's written at the top of pages which version they are for π
That's from the Health page ?
Correct
Someone forgot to bump the version then
π«‘ Glad to have been of assistance lmao
Feel free to do that yourself too
You can contribute
Wait was muscle strain already there in B41 actually ?
Nah, it lists combat and shit, which is definitely B42
When I say I'm new I mean probably not even more than 5 days old for Project Zomboid. but I do watch a lot of videos, and I hear a lot of people saying "New to B42, is muscles strain" so I'd expect it to be B42
Thanks, but yeah Idk how the mechanic works exactly for muscle strain when exercising, but I do know it does something. So although I wouldn't mind doing the editing, I don't know the mechanic enough to alter the page to add exercising as a muscle strain source.
What you can do is add a section about it, and add {{Stub|section=true}} which will indicate that more info is needed about exercising
Something like this? I highlighted my edited part:
Or is the stub supposed to be before the highlighted area?
Ah I meant as a new section but that's fine, don't add that stub then
I should have checked that page better
I saw there was a preview and realized what it would have done. But yeah it's already on the page. Would I be able to footnote it to say that section requires more detailed information?
small note btw, it's section not selection for stub, and it's used to change the wording when just one section (paragraph) is a stub π
Lmao mb. I wrote the sentence just below the main paragraph and added the stub. I also provided in the summary my change (added exercise) and the reason for the stub (lack of detailed mechanic).
The navbox location types include "cemetery" which is deprecated, do I remove it?
Also, I was thinking about making one of the general locations page (like the hardware store one), what's the logic/rule for the "see also" section?
Not "Forgot"
Current stable version was bumped to 41.18
As a part of the fix for the vulnerability
so all previously up to date pages became outdated
A lot of articles are in a weird limbo state where they've had B42 information added but the rest of the article hasn't been verified as unchanged
This is one of them
Probably best to remove
Probably best to link to other general location pages. @naive imp
I haven't looked through all of them yet (backlog) but tbh I don't think they really need a see also section. You could link to things the location is themed after, i.e. "Tools" or "Carpentry" for hardware store
But I wouldn't sweat it. I'm gonna look over it anyway
Ty!
Im bumping everything on 41.78.16 to .18 so it doesnt look so scary and outdated
It does looks scary ngl lol
Yeah the updates had no material change so it doesn't really fit lol
That's not what I'm talking about
There's B42 info in a page marked as B41
I think bump anyway
It's more likely something documented didn't move and so players can trust that page, while adding B42 info to a B41 will just get overlooked since they won't trust it
I agree
Hello. Are there any plans to work with b42map.com? There's a lot of outdated information there, as well as some that hasn't been added yet.
Sorry what do you mean
The POI settings include location names and descriptions. Some of them are outdated, like the one in March Ridge near the military dormitory. Some new locations don't even have markers, like here in Muldraugh. Are there any plans to address this?
Not sure what the issue is with the two examples. And not every location will have a marker
The B42 no longer spawns large amounts of equipment and weapons in Knox Military Apartments. The first example is just that β an example.
Why won't all locations have a marker?
Has the apartments story been removed? I wasn't aware of that. And not every location needs a marker, there's already too many markers on the map. Look at Louisville for example
Yeah, you can read about it on pzwiki.net
I can send you the link.
I agree with you, but for example, the Car Junkyard in Riverside has its own name, while the new similar location in Muldraugh doesnβt. The construction site in Valley Station has its own marker, but a similar one in Riverside doesnβt. I understand that we donβt need an endless number of markers, but wouldnβt it make sense to do a bit of cleanup?
I could help a bit and DM you, or message you somewhere else, with a few things that seem incomplete or inconsistent to me. Then you could decide for yourself whether any of them are worth changing, if you want to
99% of the POIs are directly imported from the official map with some minor cleanup. Maybe in B42 stable we can have a look at it
Iβve noticed that too, yeah π
Thatβs why Iβm suggesting a little cleanup for the map. Anyway, thanks for your reply. I use your map regularly myself, and I just wanted to help make it a bit better and clearer for new players.
I have been looking at some cleanup yeah, likely for stable though
OK, Thank you
How many mL of fluid do each of the hunger and other stats represent for the beer, brandy, drink etc. pages?
I believe it's 1L. @digital helm?
I'm not sure how you get the images @languid kayak

From the blog post
All existing Occupations are still available (some with refreshed names)
I guess we have some movings to do again π
and Veterans no longer notice Discomfort via an updated Desensitized Trait, as they are very used to being uncomfortable.
That's interesting

Right in time after our replacing of X with Bluesky π
Also,a small nit, I think it's you who wrote this blog post @lunar wedge, but we generally standardized to refering the wiki as "PZwiki" π
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki
Thanks π
I kept on bumping the pages, yet then I didn't fully verified some, thinking through now, I should have slapped {{Outdated}} or {{Unverfied}} for them
It was indeed a bug, I didn't know the code would make the building have so many guns lol. But I have made a note of it for future lore π
I think I mentioned that a few times, but not sure whether my idea was clear, also not sure exactly how to do that on a technical level, but I think with Lua/Modules it should be possible?
- Have a list of (editable) locations (on wiki?) - x, y, (z?) and name
- Use that list on PZwiki
Right now we maintain two separate sources (name and location) for both the map and wiki.
That would render the old POI manager superflous, so one less thing to worry about
Yeah it's one litre (1000 mL) as mentioned on the fluid page https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Fluid
Im for certain sure that towns have slightly different coords than locations pages
Gonna be upgrading the wiki over the next ~1hr, some disruption expected whilst swapping the new version in
Complete. Force refresh the wiki if it looks a bit weird - CTRL-R or CTRL-F5 should do so
What did the update do ?
Updated MediaWiki and Citizen skin, for MediaWiki seems it's mostly this https://lists.wikimedia.org/hyperkitty/list/mediawiki-announce@lists.wikimedia.org/thread/DIBLSBHISKX6NFRUFNOGZRVW42E7R2QP/
For Citizen we went from 3.5 to 3.15 https://github.com/StarCitizenTools/mediawiki-skins-Citizen/releases/tag/v3.15.0
Hello! I found a discrepancy for the Full Encumbrance values ("Encumbrance of the container when it is full and equipped") on the main Container page(that lists all of the containers in its tables) versus the individual page for each container. The table's current math shows containers with an increased encumbrance reduction percentage actually cause the items to weigh more instead of less. I am a very new player and was trying to learn more about bags from the wiki so my apologies if I'm mistaken somewhere. The pictures are examples for "Large Framepack" and "Military Backpack" in the table and then their respective pages on the wiki.
is chef supposed to have short blunt?
Another small bugfix Wiki update today. Will be updating it over the next ~1hr, some disruption may happen, recommend avoiding important edits just in case!
The update is done now.
And for the april fools we made wiki unusable
Huge opportunity missed to change all font on wiki to comic sans
Lol
I'm pretty sure I double check the occupations page update for 42.16.0 so yeah
Changing to https://github.com/loudifier/Comic-Relief next time around then π
Changed echo creek to no longer a spawn town. I added a history section too but since its mostly for items might look a bit weird
I left item id out so it just says item history
Changed starting points and then forgot to edit echo creek lol
Hello hello! I'm 100% new to wiki editing, can anyone help me with a very specific question?
A lot of the gun pages are still using B41 models - there's some really great new models for the rifles in particular I'd like to showcase. But I don't really know the first thing about how to get ahold of that.
(I hope this isn't a general question, please point me where I need to go if this is the wrong channel!)
I made a tool to render the items on a green screen to easily get them in the wiki
Contribute to SirDoggyJvla/Wiki-Tools development by creating an account on GitHub.
I haven't tested it for the last versions
Aw hey, thanks a bunch!
I'll see if it works when I'm at my desk, I'll letcha know.
The underlying logic for infoboxes has now been moved over to lua https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Module:Infobox
This affects all infoboxes, so please let me know if there's some new weirdness.
Only the core templates were moved to lua, i.e.
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Infobox
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Infobox/image
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Infobox/section
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Infobox/row
They also have slightly better documentation.
The 'specialised' infoboxes (e.g., Infobox item and Infobox location) will come later. This change should make moving them a bit easier.
Are the old template links going to work or will literally everything break when the infoboxes are changed? And how will this affect editing infoboxes or creating new ones? Will it be harder?
The templates have already been changed over to lua. There's no change to the individual Infobox templates themselves.
There's no change to the usage.
The actual infoboxes will eventually be moved over to Lua too, which will give us a lot more control. Again, that'll have no change to the actual usage on pages
They also have slightly better documentation.
Have we've been moving to the new documentation format that will be picked with the visual editor, or not really?
One more thing is that the history now mentions 41.78.18 as the version that removed it, I guess it should still be .16 in there? https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Wooden_Spear&diff=next&oldid=1346775
The items exist in 41.78.18 and while it came well after the start of unstable 42, in build order it's still before 42.0.0
I was planning on that too. I'll look at doing it for these to start with. And I guess as things move Lua I'll add it
oh true, my bad π
If it's mundane task that can't be botted, maybe I'll have something to do when I have little time to focus on something bigger
(or when doing other edits)
Seeing the recent work done by @unique ermine (thanks for that!), I think we can keep the summary field for images like these, I used to remove a bunch but from now on I'll be keeping them https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=File:WinterIsComing_Pre-B42.png&curid=175153&diff=1347335&oldid=1347333 β here's the example for one (I just moved the category to the bottom, but it's added to the == Summary == if inputed when uploading; bot can take care of it in the end, pinging @proud cobalt for that eventually if you want to add it to the bot).
One thing is missing and I'd like to add is the source of file (an original/web archived URL or the location in-game, or a note that it's just a screenshot done for the wiki)
Hopefully I'll get myself to update https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Help:Style_guide and https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Help:Images so these can be documented, too π
I haven't done one yet, but probably fairly mundane. Would require knowledge about the template.
In case they change a bit, I'd wait until they're moved to Lua which will be listed here https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Templates_that_use_Lua
Did a little formatting change here, I also think it's better to link to Knox Country I think, as other screenshots can link to the upcoming challenge maps (assuimng they will get back), Knox County (for historical reasons), tutorial or some other possible maps (mods/future).
Oh god that might be due to the wiki update π
wait my image is a bit massive lmao
HMMMMM
missing "take" in Level -13 section of the military research facility article.
You can edit that yourself too
"This page is protected"
Edited, thanks for pointing it out!
Did you make an account?
The page is not protected, other than requiring an account to do so, we can probably make the message be more explicit about it, can you link a screenshot of the message in question?
Pinging @naive imp for what I think could be used under the images? Filling coords may get tedious though, especially as it'd have to be filled in the image and the page at the same time. Not sure if we can simplify/automate part of it π€
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:House_OneStory_Muldraugh_A.png#Summary
Can probably streamline it to [[Muldraugh]], [[Knox Country]], {{Coordinates|10862x10247}} if that'd be prefered I guess?
I think we tackled the skill pages being in a terrible state, so far I changed all of them to at least have and start with "Overview", but what sections we want to have them?
So far it's not really standardized; we have sections like "Skill guide", "Gaining skill", "How to level it up", etc., all mixed between secions and so on.
I think something like that would be nice? May create a boilerplate if needed I guess?
{{Infobox

^ These 5 are all the standardized headers that are already there
Thoughts? WIll require some shuffling and splitting, but maybe I'll start taing care of it slowly.
I though of having == Character creation == at first, but figured that they might belong to leveling more.
Pinging mostly @proud cobalt and @digital helm but everyone's free to leave a comment π
@proud cobalt I assume the change in the crafting here was intentional? https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Television&curid=11299&diff=1347685&oldid=1317095
60,000 edits soonβ’ π
Wouldn't it be better occupations and traits before lvling? Due to the xp bonuses/starting lvls(?)
Imo it would encourage new players to try/consider different builds
Someone who already knows the basics would probably skip to lvling anyways
Kinda what I touched in the last paragraph π€. I originally though of them having "Character creation" first
Not sure why this was removed? I think it was yours edit @proud cobalt? https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Outdoorsy&curid=39753&diff=1347897&oldid=1238663
I think that last line happened on the header removal @proud cobalt? Not sure if there's more pages like these https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=McCoy_Estate&diff=prev&oldid=1360631
Here's the exact change: https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=McCoy_Estate&diff=prev&oldid=1211843
Well, I've downloaded it, but the readme doesn't really have instructions on how to hook it up to the game? Could you maybe help me set it up
You need to clone the repo in the Zomboid/Workshop folder
I don't know what that means, sorry...
Yes, see that wiki page to compare if you properly added it to the folder
Compare the folder structure
Seems good. After that, the video says to press U ingame, but that's not doing anything. Do I need to be in debug mode or anything?
There's also https://pzwiki.net/wiki/User:Carina/Item_Image_Tutorial for doing that not in the game
Did you activate the mod properly ?
The file structure is the same. I don't know how to check that it's activated, otherwise. Sorry...
Oh, wait, it's probably the damn file redirect again. Lemme fix that.
It's literally just a mod
Activate the mod
(obviously forgot to screenshot the 60k edit)
Noice
Oh, duh, sorry. (I did have to fiddle with the file redirect too, but that's a me-specific issue.)
I've got it working - is there a way to rotate the model so that I can get a good angle for the wiki?
Not really no, I haven't added that in
Ah, gotcha. Thanks anyway!
The existing ones were rendered in blender, but that'd be a much steeper learning curve. Pinned comment here #pzwiki_editing message
Does anyone know if rifles still have piercing under the new aiming system, or if there's a way to check?
I've just summited that curve thanks to Carina ^^
New gun icons coming up!
Can anyone help me add some guns to the navbox? I tried adjusting the template, but it didn't seem to do anything.
Oop, no, I screwed up the whole site's navbox, shit!
Fixed
Well, I've gotten all the handgun models updated - I guess the wiki has them cached, so they're not displaying just yet?
B42 weapons are navigable, so if any other nerds wanna take a whack at fixing up those pages, go nuts!
most likely
images can get a while to update
I'm having a hell of a time with some of these.
See, the new double barrel shotgun? It's saved as the JS-2000 in the game files, for some reason
I can't find the texture for it for the life of me.
Figuring out which M14 is which also sucks, texture-wise.
@twilit siren just keep in mind we have a style guide for model names which is admittedly fairly complicated. But these are added automatically to the page infobox https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=JS-3T_Tactical_Shotgun&diff=1360745&oldid=1360743
Thank you for doing these btw
Sorry, first time wiki editor! I tried fixing it afterwards but couldn't figure it out
No problem. There's a couple of ways
- click on the image with the missing model and upload the file
- if you've already uploaded it, go to the file page and move it to that file name.
The problem is that there's a correct image on the page (JS-3T tactical.png) and a duplicate with an incorrectly formatted name that isn't attached to anything
Or like - they're both incorrectly name-formatted..? I forget at this point. I'm super tired and all the blender stuff gave me a huge headache figuring it out ^^;
I've fixed that one https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:JS3T_Shotgun_Model.png
Haven't looked at any others
Thanks, I didn't mess with the filenames for any preexisting firearms
Maybe check the L92 carbine
(By which I mean, the only errors would be on B42 new firearms)
just now got 1k i feel i cheated my way into trusted user lol
@proud cobalt I think we can fix these links in the code so they'll be simpler in the future? https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=MSR7T_Tactical_Rifle&diff=1360939&oldid=1356371
yo wiki guys
found a typo
on the day 7 paragraph it says broadcaster instead of broadcasted
In the triple N article
Feel free to make an account and correct it if you spot it, takes literally a few seconds π #pzwiki_editing message
<@&1205891296565268520> Happy Easter to the ones celebrating, and here's the March 2026 summary; enjoy! https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:News#March_2026_summary

Happy easter
Awww yay!
happy easter :)
I can't for the life of me get the JS-14 texture working right for a model render
That's the only gun that doesn't have a new render now
Catching up so expect some spam
I'd be happy with this
Yeah, but the visual editor puts the }} on the same line which is annoying
That's a good point
Looks like it was this person. I'm unsure if true or not
https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Outdoorsy&diff=prev&oldid=440417
Ahh yeah, because the header line looked like this...
{{Header|Project Zomboid|World|Locations|Businesses}}{{Page version|42.11.0}}{{Infobox location|name=McCoy Estate|image=McCoy Estate.png|image_caption=Isometric view of the McCoy Estate|type=Residential|owner=[[McCoy Logging Co.]]|coordinates=10091x8264|location=[[Muldraugh]]|map=McCoy Estate map.png|map_caption=Map location of McCoy Estate}}{{Header|Project Zomboid|World|Locations|Businesses}}{{Page version|42.11.0}}{{Infobox location|name=McCoy Estate|image=McCoy Estate.png|image_caption=Isometric view of the McCoy Estate|type=Residential|owner=[[McCoy Logging Co.]]|coordinates=10091x8264|location=[[Muldraugh]]|map=McCoy Estate map.png|map_caption=Map location of McCoy Estate}}
Uhh it's possible yeah, it's set up for 2+ zombies so not really sure why its added anyway
Sooo much good news! Great work pz editors!
Why are rain collector barrel two different pages for tarp and garbage bags? The only difference is that one ingredient so I'm confused on why two pages
probably one-off thing then?
that, but also links like [[Aiming|aiming]] instead of [[aiming]] should be easy to fix I guess?
Probably could be merged, but we did no merges for SYF project π
btw @twilit siren thanks for the edits to the item navbox, though keep in mind that they are due to be reworked to Lua eventually and were never really updated to B42 because it had too many items. It's mostly @proud cobalt and @digital helm that will be working on it eventually, but something else always pops π
We'll have to update that trait anyway, since the "Start a fire on campfires with a notched wooden plank faster." was moved to other perks now.
Also, the "1% or 1.25% chance of getting scratched/lacerated while walking or running through trees." is it absolute or relative?
I'm starting to working on implementing that on the individual skill pages, I think we never solved the issue how XP values are displayed @proud cobalt? #pzwiki_editing message Also, seems it's a bug where the game shows +100% (it's 133% and not 125%) and +125% (it's 166% and not 150%), right?
I think I'm gonna remove the skill levels from individual pages for now and let the https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Skill page explain it to not duplicate the info (which by itself needs an update; we still have it based on B41, like categories which I marked, but also referred to in other places), although listing whether you can even get to level 3 would be nice (not sure if all skills can start at level 3)?
Yeah, I think navbox is currently low priority on the project, but I think I will increase that to medium or high, now that translations is mostly done
and you got hang of this π
There are at least three places where we have to update occupations right now π©
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Occupation page which is most up to date
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Farmer dedicated page, not yet updated
and then in pages like https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Agriculture that list them too, not sure it's something we can do to update them once and for all? I think lua would come into rescue eventually?
I guess I'll change just for the name pointing to the dedicated page and numberical amount given
I think I tackled that once, but I guess we should move https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Recipe_magazine to "Recipe resource" and list the schematics and seeds in here too? I think mostly @digital helm for that
It's not a bug the numbers are correct, it's just a misleading system because it doesn't start at 100%
Yeah it's because the page was made with visual editor I believe
Tiles have gone through quite a few changes during unstable, and SYF hasn't really been started for B42. The individual articles were generated
I know, but still β the first level starts 25%, but the displays says +75% (25%+75% = 100%, this is correct), +100% (25% + 100% = 125% and it's 133% in the code) and +125% (25% + 125% = 150% and it's 166% in the code)
Oh I misunderstood you the first time. The displayed xp boost in game is a bug, what's written on the skill pages isn't a bug. You don't want to get rid of what's written on the individual skill pages do you?
yeah, not to duplicate stuff. I am currently starting with agriculture page
Once you finish that could you please ping me with the diff so I can get a better understanding π I'm on mobile and I think my brain is mush today
I am mostly wondering now ho to incorporate guides to level the skill up π€. This seems to be much sought on the wiki, but we don't have an exact space for that, with wiki being more a database/factual information
Right now it's something like that
Okay, https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Agriculture should be revamped to more-or-less this format now, with changes made as I go. @proud cobalt so you are aware π
It should be neatly organized now and it's over 2 kb lighter now without losing any valuable info and follows more-or less the style guide we established.
@gloomy glen you should be happy that the guide-like section is down below, so people would see the occupation and traits first, as I think that's what you wanted?
What we "lost" the occupation and traits detailed info, but the readers should click the appropriate pages for that. Maybe somewhere down the line we could make them getting pulled from the respective pages / lua modules / database, but that's not for now. Right now the only thing that has to be kept up to date are costs which are most important for the skill.
What might need some rethinking is how we include skill books and recipe resource (magazines), that was largely unchanged, especially as we have lists maintained by bots in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Literature so I assume it can be automated/modularized as well. Instead of making seed list, the page refers to the gardening page a player would click to go to.
The mechanics section is where most of the "guide" like stuff went, though it's structured less like a guide that says do that (Steam guides or similar would better place for that). Some further tweaks/cleanups may be useful, but seems it's all changed as of Build 42. The effects section may need taking a look. There is no separate Crafting section, but there are crafting recipes hidden in the mechanics, may be worth separating and linking to instead.
I also left the https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Agriculture#Crop_table although I'm not sure if it's the proper way to host it or should be in a dedicated page?
Changed https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Metalworking&redirect=no to point to welding now, as I assume that's correct? I hope it's fine and nothing messed up because of this?
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Agriculture#Leveling changed it so it includes icons for occupatyion and traits and book lists and recipe magazine is now a simple list to avoid wrong/duplicate content (it did list the foraging recipe magazine btw and wasn't listing one of the magazines for farming btw)
Only properly moved the axe skill to Axe now, some links may need adjusting
@digital helm some magazines in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Literature#Recipe_magazines lack Skill, is it due to them not being defined for a bot/parser or some other issue? Seems most are tailoring ones
Handy bit or lore/easter egg @tulip kiln https://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php?/topic/79907-john-spiral/
Seems the John Spiral is the Knox Country's James Bond π There are two "underground" electrical magazines related to that
* [[File:Magazine_Underground3.png]] [[Magazine: The Cheapskate's John Spiral - Chemical Warfare]]
* [[File:Magazine_Underground6.png]] [[Magazine: The Cheapskate's John Spiral - Homemade Explosives]]
Anyone know what this is a reference too? its not in the wiki list, and its driving me nuts.
I just realized we have description for every skill π
it's in lua/shared/Translate/EN/IG_UI.json
I think using it as "Quote" at the top may be the best, but it can be used to improve "modifies" in infobox and in #Effects section
I did these, blame me if they're wrong!
Skills are effectively hard coded based on the id. These look to be new, so I'd need to assign a skill to them in the parser
help? https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Infobox_tile/es "pickup level", "pickup tool" and "place tool" can't be translated(?)

They were just missing in the doc. I've added them now. Just need to be translated
Ty, I imagined that was it but I don't dare touching templates lol
Not sure I should reply here? It was dutchman's edit so someone mentioned it on their web page (I don't think duthman is here?), but the point is valid https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=User_talk:23dutch45man&curid=53011&diff=1361051&oldid=435551
I probably will fix it when going through skills, so far I went alphabetically and made a first pass of updates to skills up to Fishing
So basically it's all manual based on where the recipes belong to? Seems they might not be as straigh forward, as I think while generally categred toward one skill, some may be for more than one?
Pretty much. There were always some that didn't have a skill, and that was the reason. E.g. armour doesn't necessarily = blacksmithing
Seems like a valid point to me. I'd reply if you action something
Hmm... the problem is that for capacity it's 15<br>12 rather than a whole number, since it gets used in the calculation for full encumbrance.
Looks like 12 is only for the medical backpack. Could just that one be a separate page? Thoughts @proud cobalt
Funny how this is not classified as anything in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Site_maintenance βΒ I wonder if we can do anything for errors as such to get assigned a category?
Hello! First time talking here, I wanted to know if thereβs anything related with Spanish articles on the wiki? (mostly B41), Iβve been adding some small details onto a few ones Iβve found, but I would like to know if thereβs anything specific where I could learn more about editing or help with something.π
@gloomy glen is the project translation leader and tranalsates to Spanish.
As far as Build 41 goes, while there are some pages that are still not updated to Build 42, we no longer maintain the B41 pages explicitly and pages are updated to B42 when there's occasion and just archival ones are kept.
Yeah, we're mostly translating to the new versions but if you have more info on the B42, you can add them in the main (english) article as well as the translated one β€οΈ
Oh, alright, sadly I havenβt touched anything related to B42 since last time I tried there was a bug that crashed my game every time I tried to play in itβ¦ but if I manage to get it working I surely will try adding stuff to the articles!
Also another question, thereβs still no problem adding stuff to the articles that arenβt updated to the B42? So I can keep helping at least there? π
B42 tend to crash old saves with every update so... yeah. Imo it's still fun but I get the frustration
You can add stuff to the ones still in b41 but be mindful that those changes will probably be deleted when the page is updated
Got it. I will try to help as much as I can with the B42 articles when I manage to get it working, still, thanks for the info!
Keep in mind that I (lazily) work on skill pages, though all were translated before I started working onthem π
The items are the ones that are constantly improving and often needs manual filling of stuff like usage, see also or variants. (a lot are missing models, but these will update automatically on translated pages).
The navbox will change too, Vaileasys got some plans for it to move to Lua, but no ETA on that, as it's a slow process, translations of them might slightly change.
But in general, keep in mind that all the pages will be updated from B41 eventually.
our of curiosity, what's the problem with B42? In general it should work even better if B41 due to optimizations, unless you rely on mods a lot (but a lot of them were updated to B42 already)
The main problems with B42 is that it's still unstable, so it's ill-advised for long runs, but that's where in general all development (TIS and mods-alike) are headed, and gripes/balance that were initially an issue like muscle memory, aiming and crafting are being polished π
The last time I tried to play on B42 it didnβt even let me load or play on/create new saves since it crashed the game and left my laptop with a frozen black screen, sometimes even lagging the whole laptop and me having to shut if off forcefully.
It probably had something to do with me playing on Linux, but I donβt really know what was causing that, since on B41 everything ran fineβ¦
(I havenβt checked these updates yet, so it can be already fixed with those, Iβll check it when I get some more free time.)
try to move the Zomboid folder too in your home folder, in case it messed skmething up
Also weird you have issues on Linux out of all, it's OpenGL π€ . What distro is it? (I'm on Arch/Cachy with no issues, native). Though the game had issues at first but they were Mac. Also is it nvidia, amd or intel gpu?
I was on Linux Mint 22 XFCE. No GPU, just with integrated graphics on an intel CPU.
not sure if thats the case but since i started playing on Linux(arch) i noticed joining some MP servers left me on black screen during Click to Start phase so i had to switch to Proton compatibility mode in order to get it working (instead of using default Steam Linux Runtime)
π€ I would have to try that next time thenβ¦
I just tried on my old Haswell i5-4690k iGPU and while B42 worked, the performance was not so great and I couldn't lower the detail further at one point, outside of maybe disabling zoom and resolution (I was 1920x1200) and I had several tabs of firefox open, but can try tomorrow too if I find some time to test it again. That was natively.
What's your CPU out of curiosity?
Also not sure how good Mint is performing, I think @proud cobalt had one PC running on Mint?
Well Iβve been using a low end laptop with a Celeron for quite some time, itβs playable at least to some 40-60fps in B41β¦
I know that itβs probably not the best CPU to play project zomboid and it was the main reason I started using Linux, but I sadly donβt have much choices with my economical state rnβ¦
If it's a newer Celeron, then it might be better iGPU than the i5-4690 (4th gen), you'd have to find the exact model though, or at least the generation π
In any case, I'll take a look how B41/B42 runs for me as well. B42 should run better in general anyway and yeah, Linux is probably more lighweight. CachyOS brings some extra performance as well, but not sure you'd want to switch the whole distro for, and it'd be just a few frames.
Also yeah, not the best moment to buy anything at this state, but the game will surely get some optimizations too and for crashing maybe something to bug report (see #1019767076094758924 too), so you can be up to speed with B42 as well β€οΈ
ThatΒ΄s alright, if i still cant play on B42 ill check or send something in techsupport. Thanks for answering and sorry for wasting a bit of your time onto this issue... π
no worries π I forgot to test it today, but π€ it will work fine for you and happy editing in the meantime π
@gloomy glen and others I've done a fair bit of work on a new way to translate templates and I'm looking for any final feedback.
Translations would be moved out of the template subpage for that language (e.g. /es), and instead stored in /translate.json. This has several improvements over the current format, such as:
- JSON is a widely used format so people are more likely to be familiar with it
- missing translations fall back to English instead of breaking the entire template
- errors are handled more elegantly (better categories and error messages)
- translations can be viewed without editing
- should be more straightforward for the editor:
- page will be created when the template is made 'translatable' and linked to on the English page (with the instructions)
- re-used for all languages
- errors with the formatting are picked up by the editor and stops you from saving
- compatible with the translation extensions (MLEB) for when we get them (our current way is incompatible)
Here's an example of Template:Infobox_game: https://pzwiki.net/wiki/User:Vaileasys/sandbox_5/es
Here's an example of the JSON file, which the above example uses for the translations: https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Infobox_game/translate.json
I could also add a way to display the translations on the doc for that language
how do you remove outright a 'lightbulb' note that already on a page?
just make it blank? dont see a delete for it
never mind figured it out
Okay another question... how does one Archive a page re: version 41 so could start editing it for version 42?
<@&671452400221159444>
thanks
normally would poked spiffo but that was over the top
ye, no problem
I saw it when it first spawned but the delete all discord command didn't work or was lagging hard
do you do any wiki stuff btw?
Nah, only moderation
Well I could not figure out out for the life of me. even mediawiki's help didnt help so took the only advice that they offered and was make a complete copy of the original outdated page for archiving and stored it into a new Talk page.
I'm not going to touch the original for a bit till hopefully someone reads this and is able to archive it or lemme know its okay to move forward with a version42 page for the Admin_commands
Feel free to ping me regarding this.
You can just update the page and the bot will add a link to the archived version
It actually already has the link to the B41 version, one you update it to B42 the link will appear
okies so just change the version at the top and then do any changes needed, just to make sure Im understanding right
Yeah
okies thanks like I said I made a talk page and backed it up just in case cuz all the info wasnt working
A bit late but yeah my framework laptop runs mint and PZ runs fine on the APU
All good, I've deleted it as it's already archived
okies yeah I booted up my dedi today got it running so I was able to get a full list of the cmd's
Added to my to-do
hey 1 more question cuz Im not sure what it means {{Page version|41.78.18|2=1361361}} whats the whole 2=... part?
2 is a link to the archive Calvy mentioned. Leave that as is
np
I finally put together a stylesheet reference for commonly used CSS classes. It's added to the tutorial navbar https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Help:Stylesheet_reference
okay all done updating it best I cound there still WIP descriptions cuz they literally arent coded into the game yet and a few have some typos and stuff I'll put in a bug report for that tommorrow.
bug report done: https://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php?/topic/93977-416x-dedicated-server-help-info-uncompleted-fields-errors-and-typos/ regarding help cmds/info
Version: [42.16.x] Mode: [Multiplayer] Server settings: [Dedicated] Mods: [None] Save: [New Save] Reproduction steps: in Console or In Game chat box type in the "help" command to list all help commands and info Pretty straight forward. Just list all commands allowed via help. Here is the list of ...
@cobalt bronze hey, you're RDX, right? Tysm for the edits! But there are a few things that I should've mentioned (?) the term should be the ones in game, so for example beta blockers don't need to add "betabloqueadores" since the ign is "tranquilizantes", same with "zombi", etc. Also you can add {{Title|nombre}} to change the page's title (ie {{Title|Insomne}} for wakeful/es)
they arent even tranquilizers they are adrenaline blockers, just lowers HR and BP
opposite of an epinephrine or however you speel it
Ik but I'm not the one deciding how it was translated for the game lol
ah you talking translation stuff.. yeah the term is too broad honestly but sadly copyrights stop games from using proper names too like Coreg and Inderal etc
also not like we got blood pressure and heart rate in the game as medical either
@gloomy glen if you would gimme your opinion on the edit I did for "Admin command" it was my first major edit I did for the wiki just wanna know it looks right from a 3rd person
Oh alright, Iβll fix it when I get back home. Thanks for the title thing! I was searching yesterday on how to do that but I didnβt find anything.
Np! Ty for changing "moodle" to "estado", it was like that when I started translating and never double checked it wasn't called moodle
Whatever doubts you have you can ask here or just dm me
Can't rn but will do eventually
Im gonna be creating some more missing pages related to traits in Spanish, right now I have created the Deaf/es one, if anyoneβs got more info of the trait on B42 for /es please add it there π
Question. In godmod/godmodplayer you wrote the bug in asterisks, idk if it's a bug if both godmod and godmode work(???). I'm not sure writing it the way you did is the best tho, why not using a period? Or maybe you're looking for the bug template? Genuinely asking, I'm not trying to be rude
I got a question, is there no image for the "Hard of Hearing" trait? was translating that one but i noticed that even the English one didnt have an image for it... π€
oops nevermind, it was just misspelled in the icon parameter, gonna fix the one in English too..
Got the whole trio of hearing traits pages translated to Spanish π
@languid kayak @digital helm Should humble bundle page be made? Just as with GOG and Steam page
Even if it is just a reseller of steam keys
not sure really, we don't track when PZ is on sale and there's no unique features about Humble Store
we could mention Humble Store in Steam though, as it offers Steam keys
Desura at least used to host old builds, nothing really unique about Humble, there's no forums either and screenshots/videos are the same too
I don't think it's worth its own page. Otherwise you could do the same for all store fronts. Maybe just mention on the steam page as Faal mentioned
it was so unnecessary but i was too invested
Holy⦠
Jeez
Manual editing masochism at its finest. Welcome to the club
Infobox has some couple issues with it and also the holsters are not named properly? like where is the left or right one and which one is the ankle holster? ie names arent showing for which each one.
as for the min/max range that is not named properly the real names are in red. range is a totally different stat listed right above that.
this would be more for the bug team unless its like an inheritance stat but ummm revolvers dont have a 'clip' so not sure why the stat "ClipSize = 15" is even in revolver weapons.
Holster you can edit. Right after #holstersomething|insertedithere
The rest I think you're overthinking game logic or I didn't get the question
I still have to translate the fuel page and I'm not happy about it
at least I still have translations ready that I have yet to post so I don't get frustrated lol
I get distracted easily so I translate several things at the same time so brain doesn't get itchy and bored
then it's just double check before posting
there no such thing as clips in revolvers and the stat even still shows up in game so Im guessing its possibly an inherited stat?
Unfortunately all the slots are named the same in-game. But they link to what provides those slots.
We use human readable terms for the labels in the infobox, rather than the code names. The names are also from b41 which I don't believe has those stats
Note these will be overwritten automatically next time the game is updated. It's taken directly from the game files
well I did a bit of minor editing on https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Patrol_Revolver lemme know if you see any issues also added in the 4th slot cuz there the also the ankle holster now too
I'll have to look at why the ankle one was missing
dunno when the ankle came in but the page was for 41.13.x before I changed it (if I remember correctly)
oh derp well thats why cuz its actually missing in-game... I sworn I tested it out but just tried again now and apparently its not letting me attach it to there
I'll go thru the other revolvers and double check they can or cant use the ankle holster. and file a bug report as I dont see anything in search for it yet
looks like only revolver_short works for ankle holsters I'll remove the line. and put in a bug report asking if this was intented or not.
I see one user while adding scythe to == See also == suggested it might benefit {{About}} on top, but not sure if it's needed? https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Hand_Scythe&curid=15203&diff=1361273&oldid=1356103
@proud cobalt for opinion mostly I guess since you fiddle with items the most?
I don't see why not. Makes sense to me. It's Scythe and Hand Scythe
Yeah no issues here, anything to help navigation is a plus. I assume the user added it after trying to find the other article
Added to both, but one thing I realized, is it short blade skill or axe skill? It says axe in one place and short blade elsewhere and I'm not sure now π€ Pinging @digital helm too
btw, I realized that@sage badge updated her guide in https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=User:Carina/Item_Image_Tutorial&action=history β we should definitely move it to the more accessible namespace (Help I guess? Or PZwiki) and link it in the help sections somewhere more visible if you don't mind π Pinging <@&1205656323904118885> for ideas of naming/where to put it exactly, though the question's open for everyone π
also, minor nit, but in general level 1 headers are not used and we opted to add spaces for the headers some time ago, refering tot his change @sage badge π https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=User:Carina/Item_Image_Tutorial&diff=next&oldid=1361307
I'll change that if we move it somewhere more accessible to use level 2 -> 3 etc. level headers π Level 1 = Header = is the same level as the page title, that's why it's technically possible but avoided, see https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Formatting#Level_2
You can format your text by using wiki markup. This consists of normal characters like asterisks, apostrophes, or equal signs which have a special function in the wiki, sometimes depending on their position. For example, to format a word in italic, you include it in two pairs of apostrophes like ''this''.
