Not really, the way we should handle disambiguation is similar to Wikipedia's, as in

  • The most "important" topic gets nothing in brackets and {{About}}
  • The other topic gets a (paranethes) describing what is it and {{About}}
  • if there's more than two topic, (disambiguation) page is created and is one of the targets in {{About}}

e.g., https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Trailer
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Trailer_(cover)
and https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Trailer_(disambiguation) explaining other types of trailers that aren't called exactly like that.

At least that's how Wikipedia works and we should follow, we weren't taking good care of our disambigs though so it might be a bit messy

If the weapon says enduranceMod=4 the wiki currently displays this as +3.

Though it is not +3 but it is actually x4 that means the endurance/muscle strain is quadrupled

I've been told that there exists a "safehouse" mechanic where players/factions can have buildings/areas with special protections as their bases. I figured that as a server co-admin i should probably know something about that. While i did find some information about this, i noticed that the pzwiki article "safehouse" talks about a completely different thing: the kinds of houses i know as "survivor house" (normal houses but with boarded up windows and high value loot). There is, however, no mention there of said game mechanic. If someone with more knowledge on these matters could do something about that, that would be awesome.

Updated the table to the new format, should include all the parts except hoor ornaments (these are only available in debug for martin vehicle and have no effect). iirc, there are several templates which define the values for parts, but each vehicle needs to call those templates, and those vehicles can also overwrite them. As is common with trunks. They often get the template, and the item, but overwrite the capacity value

Finally, some Spiffo's location on the spawning map are wrong:

  1. There's no "Main street" in Riverside it's Rock Ridge Road (unless it's local name)
  2. Spiffo's on West Point is not on Main street, it's either on Oak, Mulberry or 3rd street
  3. In Rosewood it's technically North main street, but other fliers don't state North/South either, so it's relatively fine
  4. For Irvington I guess it's passable? Though shouldn't it be where entrance is at?

There's a lot of ids, but I'd go with full_breed_id which is a concatenation of animal_id and breed_id.

So in lua I believe that should be:
animal_id = animalObj:getAnimalType()
breed_id = animalObj:getData():getBreed():getName()
full_breed_id = animal_id .. breed_id
animal_group_id = animalObj:getGroup() -- this one is just for the groups, i.e. Sheep. Maybe use this as a fallback?

@digital helm I guess we should change it from https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Category:Autogenerated_articles_(B42_animals)&action=edit&redlink=1 to simply "Autogenerated articles (animals)" since animals are B42 only anyway and we don't really use it. It's just 66 pages so I can do that manually, but the scripts would have to be adjsuted.

I think the same should apply to https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Autogenerated_articles_(B42_tiles) though it's 705 pages and the movable/tile updater needs some love anyway, so maybe just mark it for moving @proud cobalt?

I was playing Zomboid in 4K, and after switching back to 1920x1080, I noticed such a remarkable performance improvement that it made me question the real benefit of 4K.
Since the game is mostly 2D with very few 3D assets, I realized the main thing I appreciated in 4K was the HUD... tighter to the edges, cleaner, and allowing me to see much more of the world.
So, I was wondering: could we create a mod that β€œsimulates” that 4K-style HUD, same proportions, fonts, and layout, but while running the game in 1080p?

It'd be the wiki. I don't know the technicals behind it, but a bunch of tiles have an item id (Base.Microwave) for loot spawning, but when you pick up any tile, it uses its sprite (Movables.appliances_cooking_01_24). On the wiki, the item_id is suppose to be that custom id first, but fallback to Movables.[sprite] if it doesn't have one

We've moved the logic for https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Localized_link and https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Language_code_subpage over to lua. This should significantly improve load times in some cases, especially long list pages that use these templates.

These are core templates for the translatability of the wiki and are used on almost every page (if not all) in some aspect. So if there's any issues, please let me know. Might be some delay as the cache updates.
