it'd be 2.9.8 version that's either Linux or Mac (I think it's Linux? Didn't take a look to be honest, though I know Mac apps are always packaged oddly), the rest are Windows builds

There's no telling how long that will be. Not saying you have to do each one, but i dont think we should stop people from adding images. At least if its done by someone in the project we can expect half decent quality

I'm of two minds about this.
On one hand, the question marks show that something needs to be done. That's obvious to us as editors, is it obvious to users?
On the other hand, if we show the icon scaled up, that's a better experience for the user, but doesn't show that something needs to be done.
Maybe, something along the logic of
If model is a redlink, show icon upscale, and add to category "Articles requiring item models".
Or could add to image improvement cat, but that may cause confusion as no Mbox.

That's because they're technically different items. They have a different ID. So if it's crafted it'll only look like the second, but if found in the world it'll look like the first.
I may look at merging if we feel the need, but that'd be very low priority right now

I feel like that sort of implies that "rabies" had been spreading among the animal population for weeks at least.

We're still discussing the best way to do new recipes. As it's quite a lengthy process to do all of them. Not sure whether we should start adding new ones now though. The issue is being this early into B42, and also not all Crafting implemented, it will all have to be redone likely multiple times. We were going to wait until a month or so before starting to update them. But new recipes can maybe be added if people want. I'll ping @digital helm and @languid kayak to spark some more discussion

Oh, pardon me, I meant more along the lines of information on it and it's use, recipe wise for most new primitive items are underdefined, based on the file I see the crude saw is defined in the blacksmith_ii.txt which means I likely would find it in a forge but I'm unsure how that could work. If you can point me in the direction I'd greatly appreciate it, same with the other recipes perhaps such as the "butcher small animal" one, as I ran into an issue (I've reported it on the forums) but I've not sure as to why it's broken and not detecting a dead mouse correctly and wanted to see if I could figure it out.

I'm not sure what you mean. If you want to add information on its use that can be done by editing the article. The Autogenerated articles are simple a shell so there's something there. They need to be filled out by editors still.
Adding recipes is different to adding usage. Recipes and Crafting have to be added in that template
Bare with me as I'm a little lost. Recipes are defined on the page that Calvy linked. It's a 'template' which is a centralised place we can call a specific recipe which will be displayed in a preformatted table.
We're waiting for Lua to be added to the MediaWiki installation so we can write templates in Lua instead MediaWiki's dodgy makeshift programming language
As for the script files, everything has been reorganised, so we're still working through it. The entire format that recipes are defined has completely changed too. So we need to sort through that before we'll know which direction to take recipes
I completely understand MW can be terrible to work with and I love Lua, I've been using it for years it's so much better than that lol. I'm new to everything so I'm just trying to help out some people who are playing the beta in VC and we've started a test primitive run to see how we can survive off the land alone. It's not urgent at all, so please take your times, I understand everything is chaos right now.

Nah it doesn't actually. That's only unique item IDs. Those items use the same ID and just change the title. So including all the magazines, books, VHSes, CDs, etc. it's probably something like another 2000 items

recipes at 41.78.16 were barely accurate; the problem is we don't know how widely different the new crafting will be and how long will it take; there are other tasks to do till then indeed, but having a good crafting would help a lot of people to get into editing wiki much and having them up to date would save some edits for them.
In any case, it's fine to update the recipes manually till then anyway I'd say.
I don't have a problem with someone updating them manually. Only problem is that it's a lot of work for something that'll be overwritten by an automated process.

haha, that was quick π But yeah, I don't think I mind (and yeah, nothing that technically prevent anyone to self-add themselves, and the spot was open π We had a few people contributing and discussing, but none really went up to edit wiki. Unfortunately most of our skilled modders are either already with hands full as were hired after b41 success and worked for b42 success, or just aren't really fond of wiki editing.
And yeah, like Vail said, the modding is more lenient, most of the style guides don't really apply strictly to modding, as these are the few pages that are written as guides that we kept (the game guides, other than Survival Guide) were outdated and removed eventually, as Steam guides basically took their place).

Which is funny, how with Mac ditching OpenGL and Windows' support for OpenGL being in bad shape (is it better now?) especially in AMD side, might make Linux the best in theory. Though OpenGL is getting phased out eventually with Vulkan and zink I guess, though it will take a while.

I do carry my own, but the digital is nowadays accepted everywhere. I did cast voting with mine as I misplaced the original one.
The digital can be used as an authenticator, as it has an NFC chip, but I never tried that, as I have an online account with SMS verification (SMS aren't ideal either, but I don't think you can authenticator or token for logging in for example, at least yet).
The only places where online won't work is the outside the country, on the european union and I think some other aspect they didn't adjust yet.
EDIT: It seems that banks may still require a physical one to confirm th anti-money laundering verifications and it will change starting with the 1st September, and when requesting a new (physical) ID, the rest works with the ID on a phone. I think the EU will adjust eventually too, but it's hard to have a common base accross all the countries.

Yeah, that's why I was suggesting to have a location and product section. E.g. pop isn't a location so would go in product, but Scarlet Oak distillery is, so it'd go in the location section

guys Did anyone know the new muscle strain mechanism of B42?How it works and can we do something like exercise to reduce or eliminate the effects of muscle strain
might be wrong channel to ask, but muscle strain basically occurs when you use a melee weapon for too long, and it'll affect how much damage you deal and how fast you can swing the weapon
to reduce it you need to level up in a certain weapon skill
using the weapons belonging to that skill will make muscle strain way less severe
if you do get muscle strain currently you will just have to wait it out
