I can't be expected to just deny other people's contributions based on the language already having one other person covering it, and that everything has to go through that one person. 😛
That's kind of the point of discussions. It's better for you to discuss a contribution with a contributor than me trying to play messenger between two contributors for a language I not only cannot read but also can only say about 10 swear words in.

But just for the record, adding translations from outside github is just to make it easy for people to contribute. It's not a way to shield contributors or have them not interact with Github at all.
This chat is also mainly a convenience for translators, not the de facto place where change happens. That's still Github so it only makes sense to take a conversation about a Github contribution to Github itself 😉
I remember I already did this on an old contribution, and the contributor never answered me on Github xD I had to contact him through many different ways (TIS forum, Discord, Steam, etc...) to finally can talk to him and he said he will anyway stop contributing, so some people are kinda weird sometimes 🤔

Actually, you really don't need to know how to manually git. I tried to learn git and failed.
GitHub is like download and upload file changes with some clicks of button.
You just have to learn the concept of pull, push, master, fork, branch...
I'm just an average user like you, not a programmer. I'm sure you can learn how to use it too.
You can now do everything via Github website. It's not easy the first time you do it but then it's easy to remember and to redo it. I wish I could easily explain you how to do it. Maybe I will try to make a video to explain to you ☺️

Yeah, you need to acquire the actual numbers from the devs. Which might be their trade secret.
You can only estimate by looking at the number of popular mods for each language.
But they might not be a regular player.
e.g. Korean Translation = 100,000 subs
chinese 120k

Does TVRADIO files have to follow language encoding rules as well? I don't see references in the .gitattributes file for PTBR ones.

Hey guys, I didn't realize the file for ItemName requires types - but when testing leaving the file name as Items_ still works, is this eventually going to be phased out?

I noticed that too, in the official files, the Item file is named ItemName_XX.txt but i realized that some mod are still using the previous name as Items_XX.txt and it still works in game tho. I don't know if it still have impact in game or if these lines are supposed to still work in the future or not, i guess this is what he asked. And thus, line in the file are different. Ours begin with ItemName_Base.XX = and the old ones with DisplayName_XX =

The foraging hint menu has some issues:
- The window is awfully small to display longer text, and you need to scroll to see the whole text.
- Upon scrolling down the tile overlaps the window name, and the text overlaps the "Search focus" text.

But I use Crowdin solely for tutorial translation. There are too many formatting tags.
That's wonderful! I am translating albanian, and it's been going well but deleting some long strings, then translating them, forgetting parts of the 1st half of the sentence and the grammer going to crap has really slowed down the translation
I have translated pretty much all short strings, and long strings are all that remain

It is not possible to randomize Cyrillic names in my opinion they should be left in English, even in other languages.
The NPC mod has a random name function. The base game simply does not prioritize it.
We can still manually name our character in Cyrillic.

But I don't see a charset defined for spanish TVRADIO file, could be that it made rewrite the entire thing in UTF8 probably.
I had to add one for PTBR as all of the contributors were using the online editor

You'd have to make sure they're not copyrighted 😄
But keep in mind that the point of a translation isn't to replace songs that are american with songs from your own language
I'd argue that for the sake of atmosphere the songs should even remain as is, and not be translated

Those are the strings from Farming_FR.txt and unless you have a mod that overwrites them for whatever reason, it seems to work fine.

Yes you can, you must not select the crops, juste hover with your mouse's cursor, let your cursor above the crops without selecting it with the red square. As if you don't intend to check the crops first, don't right or left clic on it, just let the cursors on the crops
And so it will show the English line.
If you can't figure out or reproduce that, i could make a quick video recording to show you if you need to

By removing the duplication, this error should not be present. Try removing it from your translation to see what happens.
I don't think that's the problem. The game looks for the line in the text file, regardless of how much is in it. If find it, apply it.

A residual mod can also cause this problem. Delete all PZ folder and mod folders and reinstall the game.
Okay it works on a solo game, regardless this duplicated line issue, cuz even without it, it works properly. But i don't know why in Multiplayer, this has shown in English. Maybe server set with english language will display this way ?

We need to keep nasKo busy.
When there are duplicate rows, the game randomly selects one. May have just used line 2, which is why nothing is displayed. Thus, when someone switches to the Hungarian language, they can no longer find the 2nd line.
I already encountered this kind of "english only showing" on a server but that was on build 40 so i forgot about this and didn't even thought it could be the case for these farming stuff, so that's my bad i should have checked on solo before asking nasKo

Yes, because you deleted it while playing. If you start a new game, this phenomenon will no longer occur.
It keeps the "language settings" in your saved game @frozen canopy , try with a new save to check if languages work properly, as Pe2h showed us it kept his russian line while switching to french

Duplicate lines are used randomly by the game. If there are no duplicate lines, then only what is there.

Also I dug a lil more into this and found out that (correct me if I'm wrong) the game uses bitmap fonts, which Arabic cannot use. The language is different from almost all the others since the letters can connect with each other if not separated by a space. From what I understood, it would require some sort of renderer to process when these characters should be connected or not.

As for this, I'd personally rather remove the credits from the RadioData files and propagate the credits.txt exclusively. Basically just add a line/section for the radio translations in there instead of having it read from two (three) different files
Hence, you can just add people who did recorded media to the file all the same. Some other languages already do it that way.

Thai language.txt = UTF-8 but Thai credits.txt = Windows-874, and that's the only file that cannot be set as UTF-8
