Wealth is an imaginary figure once you’re profiteer. I should know I’ve been trying to spend what I’ve made and I just keep winning, to the point it’s genuinely a cycle of deleting items that results in me making money over each play session

Ironically, it’s probably self interested to bring in the shield. If it impacts 1 in 10 games, and you average a 4k loadout, then you will have made your money back.

And spoiler alert, giving a teammate and extra bump in HP will likely impact games far frequently than 1 in 10. And it also promotes a friendly environment and experience.

You also GET THE SHIELD BACK IF YOU EXFIL.

just refunded this dumbass game. quite literally spent 2 hours of playtime trying to join a match and wasnt able to. Did every troubleshooting step that is listed on the support page so its not on my end. my system requirments match. Support was absolutley terrible and acted like they could not have cared less. You shouldnt be spending $40 on a game that dosent function for thousands of players. a few beginner tips:

1. it'll take you a while, but if you can get vendors to level 20 or higher, you will start to earn purple salvage (the vendor upgrade materials and materials you can barter for other items without paying for them with the in game currency).

2. you can track items by hovering over them in the vault/armory and pressing the track button (it should show you which button it is for you). I'd recommend tracking the low level white(grey) salvage early on so you can focus on extracting with it. It will allow you to barter for heals and ammo (both things you will run low on super fast early on.

3. Sekeguci has a few really nice upgrades to boost your ability regen (your tactical/trait ability regen is an upgrade you can likely pickup pretty quick and they make a pretty big difference on how fast your abilities regen. You can supplament this by wearing equipment that has ability regen stats to help bump you up.

4. Early on, esspeically when running a free kit/sponsor kit, it is extremely helpful to run triage because you can get free heals and shields with his healing drones. Makes all the difference if someone on your team can keep everyone topped off with health drones, it can drastically change the course of a longer fight.

He lacks movement. But there are very few places movement shells can get that you are not able to get to with all other shells. You just have to learn to mantle and parkour your way up. Reminds me of some of the destiny 2 jumping puzzles in a much smaller format. Learning where and how to climb up to the tops of buildings will be a great boon to you as you play!

This. Great point! dire marsh sponsor kit is unique in that you are getting matched with other people also running the free sponsor kit. You are not allowed to run a geared kit in that specific queue. It is incredibly helpful to learn the game when everyone is on the same level of gear at the start (but keep in mind that there are ways in the run to get other guns and shields so don't expect people to stay with the sponsor kit as a match progresses)

The Dire Marsh sponsor kit queue is an experimental queue and it is likely going away soon (they extended the 2 week experiment by 1 week. so this coming Tuesday it will be gone unless they extend it again) so enjoy it while its here! hopefully they add it as a permanent mode.

I suggest trying the game and deciding for yourself if you like it or not.
There will always be people that like something or hate something. Hate gets clicks and passed around easier, so it's easy for something to look bad in general.
Marathon got a lot of targeted stuff even before it came out, everyone saying arc raiders is going to kill it, etc etc.

Lots of people want to complain about the numbers for marathon, but forget the initial high sales were from a lot of people that misunderstood what they were buying to play, heh (and some of them leaving feedback about how much they didn't like the game because it wasn't what they wanted it to be... an entirely different game). Such is life.

Just keep in mind that there's two versions of solo. Rook is solo but is built for going up against teams.
Then there's the solo queue, which is built for going up against other solo teams. Only downside is, the queue time is longer because there's fewer solos than teams most times.

It happens in late wipe. Player base dips due to people having achieved their personal wipe goals so they take a break from the game until the next wipe, matchmaking has to widen out and relax to fill raids.

Once S2 starts you'll see player base spike and more consistent lvl ranges in raids.

Heheh, ok so. Funny story. Solo, sponsor kit, outpost. I get like- stuck on terrain near processing, in a slide animation. I think I can't get out of it and just sit there on prox chat because I want someone else to see it.

Eventually a triage in a cryo skin comes along, no mic, and shows me how to get free. They help me with my contract (the mida pick up surveillance footage one), I help them with theirs. They can't talk so they do just a enthusiastic aim up and down to nod and such. I die at a guarded exfil but it's fine because I don't have to exfil.

Sometimes it feels like solo is more amenable to contracts, depending on which one.

I did not expect to crew fill into someone doing a vault when I decided to use this week's cryo kit, let alone actually make it out. First vault done! (Not like- vault 1, it was the one that needed pump cred, dunno which one that was)

To some degree I'm hoping for some losses, so long as they're fun fights. I'm running out of vault space and I got a bunch of faction rank ups to cash in.

issue with exfil timers late in cryo raid. you have to be in your exfil with more than 10 seconds left in raid. But, the "exfil in ___" countdown appears at the top for the final exfil. So you can get in your exfil with like 5 seconds left and it will look like its counting down your exfil, but your exfil still has 5 extra seconds after clock hits zero and you die

There is a secret final exfil though, my teammates and i found it one time on accident near control and luckily got out with zero seconds

First match I bring a gold core into I lose it, such it the nature of cryo. Bit annoyed at how I lost it though, couldn't make exfil. We had one person DC after getting killed (net issue), the rest of us circle around, get them back when they connect again, but another team activates an exfil and doesn't take it, so we have basically no time to activate one and then we all get lose and the timer runs out.

I dont get why people are complaining about wipes, they're kinda par with the course with this kind of game, it levels the playfield for most players, gives new players a window to start without feeling like they need to massivelly catch up, gives you more reason to play the game, and afaik is pretty standard to have wipes in extraction shooters, no?
