1. You have to spawn near one of the 2 relevant POIs on perimeter to have enough time to search them both.
2. You have to get lucky and hope to run into little or no resistance or you won't have enough time.
3. Even if you do get really lucky and manage to search both POIs relatively hassle-free, you still might only find 1 or 2 of the correct salvage items.

There are much more than 2 salvage items that you are in need of. People just dont search for them hard enough. Blue salvage often left like on benches and in corners. Play thief, look for greens and blues. And if you really need just one more salvage try to search for munitions crates for wires and core containers for discs. Also little houses near POIs have a chance to contain corresponding salvage.

I'm playing solo, and I'm trying not to die, which means I have to move slowly and avoid clankers unless I can get an easy knife kill. So it takes at least 10 minutes to fully loot a place. So yes, there is basically just enough time to loot 2 POIs and get to DCON. But, if there is a player in the way, that could turn into like 10 minutes of trying to get the drop on them.

You pick it up, stabilize it then extract it. It gives cash as a baseline reward, but it also gives you salvage. Won't tell you what, but just go over your vault to check. When you get to higher levels it has also a pretty good chance to give prestige salvage.

I think materialist+ is fine, like you can get what. 9 pieces of it equipped? 3 implants, shield, 2 cores, backpack, 2 guns for essentially 0 backpack space. If they all have materialist+, that one purple or blue salvage is suddently 10. Not common by any means, but you can definitely plan ahead to do some runs with such a stack

Just having a couple materialist+ items multiplies blue and purple salvage a lot. Wish there was something that affected gold salvage too, it's my biggest bottleneck so far lol

Without knowing what you vault looked like prior to the run, can't really tell anyway. If your vault is full and it transmutes into salvage that you don't already have it'll go to overflow. Not the most intuitive way, but it's a way to tell whether you got gold salvage or not

Delta Force used to have this same issue and it got so bad they added an option you could enable that would lock loot to the person who got the killing blow. Problem was, randoms would try to wait until you did most of the damage then shoot to get the killing blow. It did help curb the issue though, kind of hard to time a killing blow on enemies with such low TTK.

So this is why I end up running free kits a lot of the time. I go in with blue gear, my team is beelining to one of our objectives. 2 of us are using coms, the one with the objective has no mic. We push a team, no mic gets downed. We get the destroyer to back off so he can get rezzed. Then while I get downed, I turn around to see old mate without a mic standing out in the open with his hands in a dead runner's bag while he's getting shot periodically in the back of the neck. I get finished off. No mic gets downed again and rezzed. Then the destroyer comes back and downs both of them.

This is why I run free kits.

I'm not here to donate loot, that's just an unfortunate side effect

I mean respectfully that’s just part of the game. They hide guns not out of spite but as a strategy. It’s so that revived players can’t gear back up to come and kill them as easily. Good teams will employ such strategies

Personally I see this as a great strategy, one that I should employ more but I haven’t really used it yet. “Not wanting others to have a chance” is a correct play to make. I would assume they mean within the lobby they are in they don’t want competition and that’s a good play

I have yet to open a prestige key, only have them for cryo anyways. until you get a key for the room there isnt much of a way to tell the level of the room afaik. be warned, key rooms make a very loud noise when opened and you will often be rushed by any tream in earshot range. I usually wait until endgame to open

I've been dealing with some extremely frustrating and intermittent issues in Marathon recently. They've mostly cropped up in Cryo Archive, but I've had issues in Dire Marsh as well. The issues are broad and inconsistent, but most of the time they're characterized by "connecting to Marathon servers" messages, WEASEL and BABOON error codes, and the game outright freezing and crashing. The game often also has difficulty reconnecting me to a disconnected run, oftentimes booting me back to the reconnect screen a second time or outright crashing again.

I've updated my drivers, tried another internet connection, and verified my game files, and none of these solutions have helped or fixed the problem. This has caused me to lose a significant amount of loot, and while I'm not here to beg to get it back, I'd like to know if anyone else has similar problems and where I might start trying to fix it.

When you have a key it tells you what map and which door it opens, it'll also mark it on the map when you have the key on you

It might be a hardware stability issue, you can run the various benchmarks/stress tests to check. If you suspect overheating and can open your PC's case, just run whilst blasting a desk/room fan at it and see if that helps!

spawned in, all teams dead except one. 5 rooks and we all go up conveyance to find a friendly fully kitted team with biotoxic injectors. i ask of i can use one and give it back, they agreed. after i gave it back we all storm pinwheel. at the end one of them drops me their biotoxic injector, no ammo tho, along with like 20k in valuables. god damn man im ecstatic rn
