Yeah, I feel like the burden of recording and sorting this out is on the developers. We as players should only report people, and if someone is reported an AI can transcribe the whole match voice. I feel like nword-fword (aka the idubbzzzz word) is pretty distinct for even AI to get it.

I would even go for the recording, but theres no way to report anywhere. To me, it seems like Bungie just doesn't care that the voice chat is incredibly toxic

It always has, as in if you step on small objects or your feet hit a sloped surface while you walk, you can suddenly make big clunky noises because your foot tries to reset to the ground. Its like you're falling from a height when all your character has done is lower their foot a couple centimeters.

I'd argue that overrun is the best simply because it has the fastest bodyshot ttk, and high rpm means missing a shot or two is way less punishing than m77 or har. Nobody is landing 100% headshots unless you're shooting some idiot that stands still while being lit up. The range holds it back a lot though

Fortnite records all voice chat and keeps the last 5 minutes on a rolling basis. If somone reports the VC, the last 5 minutes are included in a report.

There's still racial slurs, I just have a report button to reach for when it happens.

But this isn't Fortnite. Being appropriate for 10 year olds is not a big part of the business model here, and people generally don't like being recorded.

Racial slurs are bad but the only real answer is "record everyone always" and there are places where that makes sense and Marathon is not one of those places.

The responses in the any zone channel are so fast you can literally never play fill if you want. Include runner level, what you want to do and where, and your Bungie tag and you're set.

And I generally disagree. Part of the game is differing gear and you sign up for that when you take gear into a game.

A whole separate queue for free kits would diminish that (why???) and screw over matchmaking times.

Matching people on teams based on their kit just amplifies power imbalance and is not a good idea in general.

If you really hate it, there will always be Ranked or Cryo to play and there are no free kits in those queues.

I actually enjoy the fact that they're eliminating all the movement glitches that allow for slide cancels and stuff like that instead of allowing for uncontrolled/unintended movement demons like BF does. Them closing in on exploitable glitches fast and being like "yeah, that's not what we intended and we're going to forever on stomp them" is something I like seeing. We already have a lot of movement freedom, I don't think we're needing COD moves here.

Honestly there's no super valid reasons to be turning off crossplay aside from the fact that KB+M players will kick controller players around at looting speed.

Tank matchmaking times for what? There's people of both input methods who you will kick around effortlessly and who will kick you around effortlessly, regardless of your own input method

If you're on the far end of highly skilled or the far end of awfully unskilled so that this isn't true, platform and input method still isn't going to affect you much in that case.

Lemme make it real simple
Your aim assist stat basically puts an invisible bubble on your target. If you're in range, aim assist kicks in and if you shots are a near-miss within that bubble they instead hit. When out of effective range, aim assist stops working. Basically the more aim assist you have the more generous near misses are

More range means more effective aim assist. If your accuracy cone is smaller than your aim assist cone, it's basically a laserbeam minus the recoil. Moving inacurracy and bloom while firing can increase that cone, but it doesn't really affect your aim assist, it's just that your shots can go all over within that cone and if they happen to near-miss a target, aim assist will still compensate for that

A lot of weapons already have a juiced aim assist stat so mitigating other downsides such as hipfire/ads spread, range and moving inacurracy really helps with keeping your shots within that cone

Aim assist is basically bungie's magic "gun feel good" sauce

The whole reason forced wipes work is it sets EVERYONE back to a lvl playing field. The moment that that can be bypassed, there's 0 reason to do them anymore. It's a reason these games are super niche. If you can't accept that you can't compete at the level that you want to, that's a YOU problem. Don't suggest making it an EVERYONE problem.

The game already allows you to figure stuff out with no consequence in the form of free sponsored kits and rook runs. Optional wipes would add nothing for anyone, they'd just inflate the game's economy to the point everyone is running around with the best gear in no-time

If you had read the post, it explains optional when hitting level 100, FORCED at level 120. This way you reach max, then have a chance to play a bit with your maxxed stats, but are forced to wipe so you cant max week one then bully everyone for the remaining 11 weeks of a season.

And people who want to gain prestiges fast and choose to prestige when hitting level 100.

It's so silly to me, I don't know of a single extraction shooter that doesn't do wipes. They help keep the gear economy in check, they allow for clean breaks for big content updates etc. etc., it stops the game from having to hyperinflate its damage stats just to keep balancing going

I don't want to break it to you but extraction shooters aren't a genre where you plan for long term permanent progression. They're cyclical, it's part of the game. We get some semi-permanent upgrades, but the real value comes from fresh new content every wipe, big balance swings and most importantly your experience that is carried over. It's not an rpg.

I mean if you think about it....the knife is supposed to be the great equalizer. Much like leg meta(shooting unarmored legs) in other extraction shooters. It's what allows a super undergeared player be able to effectively take on an ubergeared player. But for it to work they need to actually outplay them. Bait them into knife range, flank them, stalk them, get the advantage in a way that if the ubergeared player is playing smart can defend against.

Well there's no other real gun option that close. SMG's are OK...but they're more effective at the "outside shotgun range" to midrange. Which is how it should be....but...I mean what else would you suggest? Outside of adding another gun entirely. Nerf the dmg to the WSTR and it's reload time makes it completely non-viable as an option. Then everyone's running around with a Misriah....still a shotgun but now you have auto-shotty spamming everywhere.
