Awful TTK isn't a thing once you get some gear. Only the shotty is currently op out of the roster from what I've used and seen.

I haven't had issues with the loot. It's exciting to get purple items and above for trade and sell values since stuff is so expensive to outright buy, meaning purps and higher have me seeing dollar signs.

BP is mid, but they already said they will address that feedback, and cosmetics are literally a non plus to me unless they are unlockable in game. But I agree it could be better.

yeah D2 was killed by the fact it was running on an outdated version of Tiger that took too long to develop new content on, and broke often when developing the content so the game could still run on past gen consoles.

IK D3 isn't popular as a theory in the community, but playing Marathon on an updated Tiger Engine is pretty incredible - imagining a fresh start in Destiny with dedicated servers, and shoring up tech debt so content could stay in the game, with an improved pipeline imo would save the series.

I feel like you need to spend time learning enemies and understand their TTK so you know when it's time to take a fight or leave.

Many of the bots are designed to be like the Rocketeer or the like - you aren't supposed to fight those with starter kits, but when you have a kit built to deal with these threats.

I don't think the bots have a bad TTK, it's just players unwillingness to back off a bot that creates the issue.

People overestimate themselves in PVE, and after playing Hunt, Tarkov and Raiders I enjoy having a game where bots are a genuine threat in the sandbox.

Again, if bots are an issue for you play assassin and go stealth and leave the fight. You can ping bots to see what lvl shield they have before fighting them, so you just need to be willing to evaluate and execute on a plan instead of just trying to think about it like shooting ADS, because they aren't designed to be ADS but actual threats.

That's fair, and you can play Tarkov, Hunt and Arc Raiders in that case. This game is meant to have tension on all fronts which creates dynamic choices with friction with the players moment to moment.

Marathon offers more hardcore and intensive match structure while still creating an arcade style of combat that isn't overly punishing like in Tarkov, while being more intensive than HS or AR. If that doesn't click for you that's fine.

Like I had a match earlier where my team was getting chased, they all had a Triage drone and so I popped a Sig Jammer as we ran past a gold shield UESC allowing the bots to shoot the enemies chasing us, giving us a chance to heal, then turn on them and win the fight.

If PVE was a pushover that wouldn't have happened, and our creativity and ingenuity with the mechanics wouldn't have mattered.

Arrowhead's line "A game for everyone is a game for no one" rings true yet again with Marathon. It's an extraction shooter that, respectfully, didn't pull punches like ARC Raiders did. It's got an approach they wanted to tackle, and for the audience it's meant for, it's clearly working wonders for us. I'm extremely excited to see where Bungie takes this game, but I understand some criticisms, even if I don't agree with them. Dude yes, the audio design is so good in this game, and it's a great learning curve. Learning what environmental sounds mean what, and how that can direct you to active points of combat, or get the drop on people is awesome. Crouching to eliminate your sound to create moments are super powerful.

The game is currently experiencing optimization issues. It's simply focusing on the CPU for no apparent reason. Maybe a fix will be released soon that will fix this issue. We can only wait and hope it comes out as soon as possible.

i have 4 setups, one is really old and even underspecd compared to the minimum requirements listed and it is still running the game properly ( 60 fps on low settings and low render resolution)

The game has a steep learning curve at the beginning, but once you learn the maps a bit it helps

The gunplay varies significantly from gun to gun in this, not every weapon is good for pvp and/or pve. For example, in my experience automatic ballistic weapons tend to chew through ammo too quickly for pve

In the end though the game isn't for everyone, if you aren't enjoying it there are other ones out there 🤷

In my experience Dire Marsh has similar player density, but the combat is a bit different because most of the POIs are closer ranged than perimeter (a lot more smg range areas instead of rifle dominated). It's also harder to move around the map without going through POIs in Marsh since a lot of the map forces you into POIs

That’d go back to N2O’s point about Rook becoming pretty OP if Rook was able to complete contracts. It’d lower the difficulty if you don’t have to be wise about how you maneuver around a zone if the UESC pose no threat to you anymore. Rook would go from being a shell you choose for a challenge or to get in, get what you need, and get out to becoming a shell someone picks as a way to tone down the difficulty.

the more you upgrade CyberAcme the more credits you can earn, and consumables can also be traded in the armory via items found in match, so you dont have to spend creds, which i think is also unlocked from upgrading certain factions, like NuCaloric

meds sure, higher tier backpacks are under faction upgrades and in store for a reason. not every player is running a blue or a purple backpack and not every locked room has one either lol. not until ranked comes out at least. blue is literally only 2k in the store and ive acquired well over 100k cash already so no reason to hold onto it

generally if you focus on avoiding UESC whereever you can and using your knife as your main means of killing them, you can save up ammo quite regularly
