Even if they launch the public playtest next weekend and not this one… Is one week enough time to make the tweaks they need prior to launch? I can understand wanting to ride the state of play hype for one week, public playtest the next, and then gap it with reward and seasonal announcements the last week prior to launch to maintain and build hype more effectively though

I think a good idea (if the roadmap is solid) is to drop the playtest, then one week before launch, drop the launch trailer and the roadmap for the rest of year (assuming roadmap is fire lmao)

I think this is why they’re going to keep some space between the state of play and the preview weekend. Simply makes more sense from a business perspective. It gives the state of play reveal and the livestream gameplay time to breathe and permeate outside of the Bungie fanbase, aka give content creators time to make videos analyzing/reviewing it and spread the word, ie build hype and attract more players in preparation for letting them all try it out themselves 1 week before launch. That public preview will be their best indicator of sales prior to launch.
