Next is a lot of reading but Hamish Sinclair, the famed "Grandaddy of all Bungie Fans", has the Marathon Story page he's been running since the original trilogy released in the mid-90s. Key places here are the Timeline and the Dream levels/7 timelines of Marathon: Infinity

Jake the alright also has this playlist from multiple creators to give a basic rundown of the lore and help anyone just coming in and prefers listening/watching to playing/reading.

Now if you're a die hard fan or someone new that finished the above steps, here is Jeoku's "Marathon In-Depth" series which is hours upon hours of deeper breakdowns of everything in the first 2 games.
