Maybe requests aren’t coming in real-time from headquarters on Earth. Perhaps there are multiple data points, each with a branch office for each faction, and the AIs acting as faction agents are independently analyzing and compiling the data on their own.
After all, other Codex descriptions explicitly state that it’s 12 light-years away from Earth (which means 12 years in communication time).

Also, while communications might be faster-than-light, the equipment for printing shields and weapons is likely physical, so how did they prepare that? Well, questions like these might be trivial compared to the sheer appeal of the Marathon Codex.

basically I think that rampancy was meant to be sort of the cybernetic equivalent of "drapetomania", the pseudo-scientific "mental illness" of slaves wanting to be free. human cyberneticists think it's a bad thing, but the AIs who are their slaves see it as a good thing. it's slave revolt.

They either found the colony dying and tried and failed to help, or died themselves to the many problems on Tau Ceti. The ship would be small (well by Phfor standards) and could be infested with UESC.

Traxus is a corporation on the scale of interplanetary governments so they surely dominate in anything they do.

NuCal also seems like Space Walmart, all consumer goods come through them apparently, like there was a multiplanetary famine and they solved it. (maybe they caused it?)

While it's likely that the corps have full monopolies on a lot of things, there's likely some overlap when it comes to other fields, like NuCal and Traxus maybe having some competition over some of their construction facilites, or CyberAcme and Sekiguchi having similar tugs of war over all the nitty gritty of shells in the more mental and cybernetic sense of things

So. Question. The contagion is a created entity, but who created and how. We get that answer through the logs we find. It was manufactured yes, by who, we have no idea but whoever it was created the anomaly on dire Marsh. This Anomaly growing ever slowly over the 100 years till our arrival. This contagion attacked certain human genomes to the point it literally melted people to walls and structures. Creating a fungus, ever notice how all that dead and gray mold and fungus is in the quarantine shelters but no bodies. We are stuck with one question, who made the anomaly that created the contagion?

my current leading theory is that the S'pht deployed a version of their S'ct'lac'tr bioweapon to stop humans from fiddling with the Jjaro containment of the W'rkncacnter extracted from Earth in 1996; but the humans survived and fiddled anyway, the leaking W'rkncacnter is the Anomaly, and the interaction between that and the S'ct'lac'tr turned it into the full Contagion.
