I believe we're playing the loop from the Marathon games, but instead of one battleroid, we're all essentially battleroids, each capable of choosing who we serve. I think the difficulty and amount of AI is deliberate, if you chase corporate profits, it's short term predatory gain, but if all the players work together and fight the AI, the extra difficult AI, the loot is significantly better. There's a lot more to this, but I think the story is meta from the start. There's so much stuff, but above all else I'm just really enjoying the game.

Except - it is. One is industrial art, the other one neon-cyberpunk vectorial art. They prioritize novelty over identity. Strong art direction usually evolves a franchise’s established visual language rather than discarding it. When that continuity is lost, the work may still look striking, but it no longer feels rooted in the same universe and that weakens both the brand and the world-building. It didn't work with Jaguar, it didn't work with many brands who tried to do it - you're director for a reason.
