They can spread out the NPCs to have patrols across the map rather than just wave after wave inside the POIs only. I don't mind PVE but at the same time I'm not trying to get bombarded every 30 seconds while I'm trying to sort my inventory, only for a team to get inside the building without making any noise, because there are no NPCS in the open, just some turrets that are easily avoidable, or they are covered by the gunfire while you clear the mobs. I get it, its an extraction game, its supposed to be hard, but this is just annoying rather than hard. Punishing people for looting in a game all about looting isn't it.

Absolutely, though I meant more of “in a KD based ranked system, what if you load into a match and all the enemy players die to AI?” In that scenario, you’d be marked as doing poorly for no fault of your own.

Unless you mean KD from totality perspective, not in each match? I’d argue that’s a worse system, because it’d incentivize not playing the game as an extraction game at all. You’d want to ignoring every AI because it’d just alert other players for no reason, so everyone would just be lurking between POIs and camping extracts. Which wouldn’t be fun at all

Marathon is an FPS Extraction Shooter, I am not surprised that the Console Audience does not find it appealing.

IMO This game was never going to appeal to a casual audience, it just isn’t that kind of game.

I know Bungie understands that, they’ve said as much in interviews. Will Sony understand it though? They are typically pretty good partners with their studios IMO.

I didn’t say they were, and not all console players are casual, either. But console players as a whole are significantly more casual compared to the PC gaming audience, and their first experience in an extraction shooter is more likely to have been Arc Raiders than Tarkov.

Marathon sits in the middle between the hardcore sim feel of Tarkov and the Arcade-Casualness of Arc Raiders, but, IMO, a competitive edge on both.
It simply won’t appeal to a massive audience ie CoD or something

This might be an unpopular take but this may be the best state a Bungie game will launch in since Halo Reach. Destiny 1 & 2 both had very different but glaring issues on launch. Destiny 1's early game and Destiny 2's late game were both lacking, and the story for both. Everything from Marathon I've seen has either met or surpassed my expectations so far, if the endgame/Cryo Vault is good then I'll be very happy
