I agree the marketing needs a heavy push with a new angle. Focus on the mystery, some catchy slogans like "Solve the Marathon", "ESCAPE WILL MAKE ME GOD" for recognizability, "MARATHON IS WAITING" from the MIDA bits of the ARG, they have a chance to make it known that they've made changes for the better, which is priority. The average person still thinks things like "The whole art style is stolen" "it has nothing to do with the originals" "it's uninspired and unoriginal" "concord 2" because they're not getting it out there that they're doing work.

There's base "shells" for every class, so you get a few looks to pick from (though these are a recent addition, and won't be available at launch, so not even that), and then each shell has skins, recolors and remixes on the base silhouette. Not custom in the least.

It's better than it was gonna be, because until people complained, it was just gonna straight up be overwatch customization, a handful of set skins per class
