Artistically marathon is nice but a lot of gameplay and mechanics decisions were abysmal ass, they can of course fix them but this is in direct contrast with arc raiders where all the mechanics are fucking S tier

Marathon's ttk was off, teamplay was off, revives were annihilating solos, utility was rare, abilities were dull and offered little interesting "tactical" gameplay, the bullet magnetism controversy, everything top down needs work

Gunplay feels floaty and non-impactful, and the guns handle like absolute garbage. I guess that's the intent if they're scraps welded together though? Maybe the game will be better at release when people unlock better gear, but the gunplay in Marathon felt amazing while this has been meh. Like I said though, it's just personal preferences. Some people prefer unique gunplay like this, but I'm not a fan

Stamina is very strict without high tier upgrades, reducing movement skill expression

All guns take forever to kill except for the sniper and repeater, headshots are not that valuable on weapons outside of the 2 mentionned, reducing aim skill expression

Abilities are just "press button do thing", no interesting counterplay, just "run away from it or wait for it to time out"

(I like extraction shooters but the reason i didn't play much was always because I played solo)
Arc was ok , i had a lot of fun and I see myself having a bunch more fun with friends , but more in a casual way than competitive
There was a lot missing in the beta , I wanted to have better guns and upgrade them , upgrade my labs, dunno what the trials and projects were for , but think I have the right idea for what they are
Now I dunno about 40 bucks , but I'll tell ya , I'd love to play this game more with a squad
Imma wait and let the game release and see what the rest of the content is
