If you’re mainly using the musket then just round run the edge of the arena in a circle taking shots at the boss when possible. Watch out for the charge attack (which will stun them if you dodge it) and you’ll be able to land a few extra hits.

if you have a ship capable of shooting 36's it should likely be lvl 11, and the above question is void.

if youve made the 36's in "act 1" you can shelf them for a while

in any case if you have a ship that can equip the 36s. you should be trying to upgrade it to level 15 asap, otherwise your ship combats are likely much more difficult than they need to be. i would say the 24s will likely do more damage currently, but the 36s will rapidly outpace it once you level them up the same or better.

Anyone have some pointers on aiming in ship battles? I just lost with my blackbeard brig vs a bunch of level 3s
I missed many of my shots and the ones that hit only did a couple 100 dmg
I have tempered 12 pounders on, working towards the same 24 pounders but will take a while to get money for it

you have to aim with a trajectory and flight time in head cause the projectiles doesnt hit instantly

Put the white strip midship in the enemy hull in a way that it's intersected by it, not above nor below. Also, if firing from afar aim a little ahead of the ship. It's been working with me anyway

Saw a post stating that on the frigate if you run the perfect order and devastating cannons the buffs just apply to the ship not the specific cannons. I haven’t had a chance to test can anyone confirm if you run perfect order 24lb and devastating 36lb the first shot still applies raked and can proc the reload buff for all cannons if you hit the next shot quick enough for perfect order cannons.

ah i forgot the blackbeard is an absolute glass canon and has very low hp the combat repair kit repairs dmg in % brethern and the normal can keep up with the dmg with the normal combat kit kit but with blackbeard the master combat it is necessary to keep your ship alive

afaik the debuff from deavasting effects all cause the debuff is on the enemy, the self buff only effects the cannons that shot, so if you fired on the left side only left will get buffed

i use black beard variant with keen hull and stretch the supply using combat repair kit even blue makes me feel invicible

the raked effect won't apply until you hit them with the 36 lb guns in this setup, I prefer devastating on both or perfectly ordered on the 36lb guns for extended engagements

tempered are god tier vs 1 or 2 ships though, ultimately doesn't matter that much

If you think they're not tall then you're aiming from too far. Get closer. Reinforce your hull, carry plenty of combat repair kits and it's easy to beat them even if they hit you back. Just try not to get between them and try to separate on of them, slightly, from the pack, then focus your fire on that one until it's finished, if you manage to finish it and took too many hits, just sail away, use normal repair kit (cheaper) and get back into the fray. When fighthing alongside other faction, see what are their targets and go for those first, always concentrate fire, your or yours+allies

Just wanted to circle back and show some appreciation for your help yesterday as well as @prisma canyon... @lucid spruce we did eventually get his connection working again, we did some pretty wild steps to get there but ultimately what ended up working was forcing dx12 in his properties in Steam and then we ALL verified our files (not sure this had any play in this) and then finally he turned off steam cloud saves, and then deleted his SavedProfiles directory entirely, rebooted his PC after that, and then he was able to join games again!

For perspective, i use 36 lb Tempered and 24 LB devastators. I stacked the 3x vuln on a Frigate while fighting other ships, then when i finally got around to a full broadside on it, i hit for 146k damage with one barrage.

Lemme help you. You can count easily what you have. 7x Trophies, 23 extra categories in decorations, 2 decorations give 2 comfort, fireplace and the statue. bed gives 2, bonfire is 1

Hey, what do the letter grades on weapons mean?
Game does not explain any of this well at all. Is it how much the associated stat affects damage output?

It wasn't until about level 8 that I realized the attack power is how well the weapon does against enemy level; same level, normal damage, lower level, more damage, higher level, less damage. I'm not even sure why attack power is needed when item level is what matters.

And again, I may be totally wrong, because the devs do not explain any of this, or if they did, not very well.

The letter tells you how effective the primary stat wil increase it's damage. So an A greatsword will get more damage per point of agility vs a c tier greatsword

Your ship uses your highest bases comfort level as it's comfort level though, so you technically only need 1 base at max comfort

Grape-shot is basically like a shotgun. Think a couple dozen lead balls the size of grapes, hence the name, or a couple hundred about the size of a blueberry - depending on cannon size, etc. As far as I know, grape shot is not in the game.

Chain shot is 2 cannon balls joined by a chain, with the hopes that the chain will hit and rip stuff the balls do not. How this actually plays out in reality is dubious at best, but in this game, it's made to target sails.

The easiest way to farm money for me is ship combat, just go after the highest level enemies you can, boarding any yellow name vessles, sinking the rest. Then once you're done hunting blackbeard ships sell the goods they drop to the various buyers from the factions

yup! once you start building your mega base after you've 100% the game, you will need A LOT of money! So I normally put in orders with all my trade merchants (about 10), and when I run out of mats, go ship hunting for about an hour (70 mins to be exact) to replenish your monies

I havent seen that one, but try loading the character into a different world, then back in to the ocean one, to see if it changes anything. If hes playing solo, just start a new world altogether and see if that fixes it, then play in the new world.

IF the character is brand new and wont work in any world, try a new character.

Also if you haven't already, try verifying the files in steam, so it goes more in depth than just installing.

If none of that works, try asking in #🚧│tech-support they tend to have better knowledge about problems and possible fixes.

The "People of Tortuga" buyer isn't actually on Tortgua island, because spite. They're with all the civilians that fled to another smaller island near it. They buy provisions and medicine.

I wouldnt describe it as "per swing." Its still per hit. But its per hit per enemy. Hitting 2 different enemies is still x1 hit on each of them. Hitting them again is x2 hits on EACH of them so its still x2. It doesnt add them together. That would be cool if that worked that way though

I don't use the right quadrant for greatswords, only for halberds, I fell like retribution is such a waste of points and deadly finale is much better than dominating presence. You can also get to deadly finale through either perfect counter or duelist and both are nice

I just tested the fight and I can confirm she does indeed do damage on perfect parries now, except for the tongue attack, which can be still perfect parried. But this must've changed in yesterday's update. I am 100% sure I took no damage from regular swings when I was fighting her multiple times earlier, so they sneaked in the mechanics change without writing about it in the changelog.

no tested that to the bleed dmg is to less to of any use

rapier of devasomthing 5 pokes one heavy enemy is dead while with thousand cuts you just hit the 5 stack and a qauter dmg

Its useful as passive damage for multiple targets as I still use soul eater as my primary weapon for 1v1 or 1v2 encounters during boarding.

I run in, tag a few targets and then pull out soul eater to use the special and as my main weapon after that
