I went with the glorious 12-pounders. The 90k hit points are always a huge advantage in fights against three or more opponents. The battle just takes a few more rounds, but at least I survive—safe and sound 🙂

generally, if you're solo, you want to do bonus damage immediately, so you can take out one of the ships. ambush is great there. if you're in a wolfpack, you can really choose any of them, based on what everyone else has. the one that lowers enemy reload is great if only one of you is using it.

You can upgrade your bording party stuff, same place you made them. Just back sure you have them in your backpack and not on the ship

Also make sure you crew hops on first and then hop on the front or back end of the ship so you don't get swamed so much.

lol all G, you got this, just sprint away from richards bomb spam, then try and focus on getting perfect parries when he hits you, you can win the battle without taking any damage theoretically, he does have those unblockable attacks but they are highlighted with bright red before he makes them so just dodge or run away until he starts attacking normally again

my method is to kill the sailor closest to the downstairs, go downstairs, kill the respawning sailor over and over until boarding completes. hit 3 times with cutlass and then dodge backwards and repeat as needed

hides get a lot more common once you kill the first boss and unlock the foothills. the camps you rescued the crew at will give gunpowder. and the buccaneer's friend weapon will let you hunt boar without risk. you can get this weapon by completing the buccaneer quest line, iirc

depending on the ship you're boarding there are areas you can go that the ai wont path to. then you can just abuse a longer range weapon, or 2h melee weapon to slowly whittle them down

And coupling that to a leveling system that limits how powerful you can become before beating that boss obviates my usual strategy of trying to over level myself and my gear. I'm a terrible boss fighter for the most part, so is usually necessary.

really helpful way to clear all three bosses, start the fight with a max set of range buffing gear and max crit, and use the buccaneer's friend musket. aim for weakspot. you can do 50% of their health in a single shot, even the first boss if you stack buffs right.

You should see a button to Set Revive Point, or Use. Using it will make the daytime progress very very fast in order to pass the time. Are there any prompts to interact at all?
