Also I have a chimney in my house and behind one of these walls is my spare equipment hidden.

What really sucks is that chains offer NO stability, so you can't use them to build floors from.

Like if you want to build a watch tower where chains hang down from the ceiling, holding up a suspensed platform where you put a signal fire, then... You can't do that

A bit of backstory. I'm almost finished with all of the current content and was invited to a friends game to do some pirating. He hasn't really played all that much, not even getting to free his crew yet, same with his friend the server owner. I hopped on intending to grind out some early resources for them so they wouldn't have to, on a new character. This turned into me attempting to make a small boat yard with the starting building blueprints. This did not turn out well. So this escalated to switching to my main character and grabbing a ton of wood, fiber, stone, and clay and building these two little things. I'm not too happy with the tower placement but I spent so long on it that I just wanted it to be over with haha. Would you be upset or happy if you logged into your server after having not played much and seeing these?

Best I can suggest is to break the foundation under it and hope you can see it from below. Since it's snugged into the rock, it'll have support and won't break, but hopefully the lip would be clickable from underneath it looking up.

Enemy ships, and quest enemy ships don't seem to communicate to eachother, so I got into a fight with six of them and they did their level best to t-bone eachother and just get stuck in a ball. I still managed to wiff one or two shots even though I was aiming for something larger than a barn.

So after playing the demo of Windrose (for 60 hours 🤣 ) I set myself up to build a Lineage 2 inspired Castle 🏰 like Innadril once I would finish the Early Access content. I use mine as a kind of marker that "this is where the port ends. I have two bonfires at the front of the town that both serve as "beacons" if you will, and I got one at the back that's more of a legitimate bonfire where you can host celebrations and such.

For those of you making these pretty fancy looking bases.. I saw on a "before you buy" review video that the building is kinda janky, and doesn't have any clipping, or scaling "tiles". How much agony am I in for when I finally go to make my snazzy shack?

You can turn off item-snapping and you can clip things into each other.
While there's no scaling, there is rotation-snapping, you can click and hold to repeat the same object, and there's a lot of different items too.

Game holds up really well when there's a ton of items and shadows on-screen.

It can dip into lower FPS when you enter "build" mode, but I assume that's when it's trying to load a lot of the assets differently with all the ways they are meant to "connect"

Then out of build mode, back to a smooth FPS
