It starts from where you place your initial bonfire. Mine was placed at beach level. I'd say least mountain height. Structure building isn't an issue tho -- walls, doors windows, etc... can go anywhere. But decorations are an issue. Once you hit that "must be placed in bonfire range" then you will need to place another bonfire the level you encounter that.

Once decorations are in tho, you can remove the extra bonfire. Decos won't disappear.

Yes. The lights stay lit but nothing you can use will be useable. But other than chairs and beds, nothing else is really interactive so.. not really an issue. Just be sure workbenches are in the initial bonfire range.

Height is depending on the bonfire - you can increase the height by raising the bonfire. Also can expand your base with 1 bonfire 4x to 5x using the simple technique posted here #🤝│player-help message
You should be able to see a tall stone pillar - I have a bonfire I can place on it to elevate the area higher to build way up on a cliff facing as seen here. And you can make almost perfectly round structures using the technique explained here #🤝│player-help message

no structure decay - If you lok at the link I posted I use torches to mark where to move the bonfire too - it stays overlapped on the storage so I can freely build regardless of where the bonfire is as long as I keep that central area in the bonfire range (It's actually slightly outside the bonfire range by a few feet - like a bit of an extra hit box)

You can build freely within the bonfire range so can move it to where you need it. If you follow the steps from main starting bonfire outer ring and build 3 to 4 foundations in and use that as a bonfire marker- your middle storage area from anywhere around the ring will have storage access to pull from. takes literally minutes to set up once you figure it out - and to make base area taller - build high to place a bonfire.

Def go agility with vitality and a tad edurance on your progression points, do as you think best on talents but obviously things that help melee/slash or ranged dmg. Keep in mind BB uses more ammo/gunpowder per shot so farm your iron and sulfur

Both, POIs and missions grant XP. If you're looking to max, you'll need to essentially clear everything available currently. I would recommend taking the time to explore and clear all the POIs from the first "zone" before trying to rush into the next one.

I will give the three best tips someone can give you, Always level your gear as in the level of your armor and weapons. That is how your character scales with enemies. ALWAYS eat food, two different types, because it will keep you alive longer. Take advantage of the comfort bonus buff you get from campfires and level it up. One decor item from each category will give a level and you will have crazy stamina regen forever.

take your time, don't rush things. character level are not as important as gear and weapon level.

try to get the gear+weapon level as high as the enemy level you want to fight.

food is important for health and other buffs.

expect to be fragile early on and probably dying a few times but you will get used to the combat in no time :) if you need help, don't hesitate to ask the community
