Old game by now but if you're familiar with assassins creed, it's basically got the land combat of a normal assassins creed game but you have like 6 pistols at a point so you can just keep blasting. The ship combat in Windrose is very reminiscent of Black Flag's concepts, where you sail the ship and you control each battery with chase cannons in the bow, cannons on port and starboard but you also have a mortar in the middle, swivel guns on the poop deck and droppable firebarrels on the aft - oh and your brig has a massive ram on her

Naval combat does basically entail shooting the ship until it gets incapacitated and then you can board, exactly like how you do in Windrose currently but because this is an assassin's creed game, you can parkour all around the ship and scale the rigging in seconds, hop up into your own crow's nest and swing onto the enemy ship. The combat is really solid too

There's also the Cutlass, which can increase a shot fired from your gun by up to 90% depending on how many times you hit with it first. Can make for a big final shot.

Why do a lot of websites like method etc that have build guides say to use the warrior ring (+special dmg) with the rapier of devastation? just faster weapons, rapiers are pretty fast swinging but usually don't do as much damage. tbh you kinda just can't get greedy, if your sitting there spamming attacks then ofc you get hit sometimes cause you'll be stuck in animations. You really just have to learn how many hits you can get in before having to stop and wait for them (using boars as example, sabers ~3 2hand ~2 and rapiers prob more than sabers but idk I don't use em.)

Matter of opinion. I prefer more damage upfront so I've never used it. Whatever weapon you enjoy and you're willing to keep upgraded is the best one. The combat is easy enough that you don't have to minmax little things like how weapons scale relative to each other

I have personally enjoyed RoaTC. The bleed is a life saver at times, and ascended can keep you alive much longer. Put a few talent points into Temporal health gain and it's very nice indeed. However, it does suffer the drawbacks the others were mentioning above. Great boss/elite enemy killer, not so great at mob control.

That's how I took care of Hands. When I time the hits with the executioner right and don't mess up my directional movement, I pretty much take them out before they do me damage. Hands hit me a couple times in the beginning but I was just slashing away at him the rest of the fight

Can't upgrade them, you can buy multiple of the same one though, and have different orders going at the same time. Each order you place takes 70 real world minutes to arrive.
They start with a tiny sad list of things you can buy, and killing the first and second boss expands the lists. The third boss doesn't expand the list of stuff you can purchase (yet).
And there is no Ore merchant yet, so you still have to go to the mines...

By the way, having a Blackbeard Ketch early on to explore as fast as possible the map is the way to go, you can explore super fast and avoid enemy ships pretty easily, much easier than the Blackbeard Brig because the Ketch turns super fast

Wonderful in Field of Dreams but, not so much for Windrose piers.

I ran into the same issue playing ARK over the years.
If you build a pier or dock, more than a few tiles in length, pirate ships will be drawn to it and become endlessly hung, bashing against the structure.
I'm not talking about building piers that span the ocean here... just a simple one from 1/2 to 1 ship in length from the shore.

I hope the devs are aware and correct this.

accountID is an identifier that the game creates Agamemode Func on server join.. also you have playerId (based on character), ownerID (which shows who initially built something, (but changes when another client/user interacts with it) .. and a few others

Both are just not possible, yes they can track it by any exe but at that point they might as well go mac address because IP couldn't work as others could be using the same wifi to also do such thing. Hence why games usually do mac bans. If they using any type of ID upon start up and lets say steamcmd, it would then be nil because you don't actually sign into steamcmd using your account they literally tell you not to. It would be solely based on the users hardware

the argument is simple, account ID is directly related a function that happens when a client (player) joins a dedicated server, as an identifier, it has nothing to do with actually executing and running a dedicated server.

hehehe. even with lvl 15 gears, its still faster to farm money off lvl 10 ship vs lvl 15

A properly-upgraded Lv15 Brethren Brig can one-volley Lv2 ships if you aim properly

You can onetap lvl 10 ships with maxed out cannons lad

I imagine it's because the difficulty for a level 15 and the time you take beating one could be spent boarding a bunch of easier level 10s

I just want enemy ai to be programmed so a single lonely level 2 gunboat doesnt immediately try and throw hands with a level 15 frigate who's broadside weight almost matches the weight of their entire ship.

Well I definitely didn't try to fight a lvl 10 brig with my brand new all lvl 1 ketch

I personally would like more ship customization. Like maybe being able to add the Brethren ship's railings to the stock variant and the Blackbeard skeleton figurehead or something like that

Me and my friends have a level 5 ketch in our playthrough, I was at the helm and wasn't looking. When I noticed we had 2 level 15 frigates shooting at us

When they saw the damage the first volley did to our ship they immediately did a 180 and begged me to get us out of there faster lmao

It's kinda mean that even if a ship is boardable we can't take over like that

Honestly it would be so freaking cool if the enemy crew starts to board your vessel if you sink them to try to retaliate
