its a visual marker, you can see the fire from a long ways away

bring the best food you have for hp so you can take some hits. bring potions as well. observe him at first, stay away from him and learn his patterns before running in head first. dodges give you i frames if done right, you can dodge through all of his attacks. dont get too greedy with hits unless you know what you are doing and never use up all your stamina, keep enough so you can dodge out of his attack if needed.

this boss is (unless you use a different weapon that cant) all about learning to parry and dodge. he got simple patterns and rewards you for parrying by falling on his butt and giving you a lot of time to get some hits in. :) if all else fails, you can ALWAYS turn down the difficulty or damage he does and learn like that. turn it back up when you feel ready.

Waves can get high enough to block shots from either you or enemy ship. That about it. It does get rocky at times. I like the "super storms" the most, but they are kinda rare.

If you're wearing un-upgraded armor, and are going against a level 3 boar, it's got +60 attack over your defence, and is doing an extra 35% ish damage. So upgrade yer junk.

about this, the devs should really code in some authority / permissions rules similar to ARK or other survival sandbox style games that by default prevent players from stealing unless they've created a guild/clan and invited said players

yes, this is a PvE game, but the permissions rules in ARK server to make PvE more drop-in / drop-out friendly, you can trust your stuff will probably be secure and safe when you get back

also, the whole "coop scaling" setting being default at 100% is absolutely ridiculous, that is a super simple change and should be 0% by default.
In Valheim or other similar games, a scaling mechanic like this exists but it only applies if other players are in proximity of each other, and it's only 40% by default if i'm not mistaken, not 100%. Enemies having 800% hp just because 8 people are on a server in completely different areas of the map is ridiculous

We wouldn't even have players talking to the moderators about griefers stealing their stuff if the developers coded permissions systems into the game in the first place.
