The game CAN run. But hits a system reboot randomly while playing, essentially making it unplayable. Its not just WR, Its anything SteamVR, had a couple on Overwatch too. But I can run AC Unity no problem. its the weirdest tech problem. I reckon its my PSU or motherboard dying tbh

If everything works fine until youre putting it under stress, i would start with swapping out the PSU for one you know works, like a buddies or something, and start there

your "stats" should run WR just fine, and if it worked fine for 2 years i wouldnt think its a seating issue

Although sometimes when installing some of the sticks the system will fail to boot and the board will have an Orange light next to DRAM. But also it will also boot eventually and work fine.

Also… because some people were asking if I was playing modded… I posted a screenshot of a base I made where I put the “dock” piece way up high on a rock ledge. You can use the docks to build a tall base for some new ideas

Yeah, if you grab the dock piece then look straight up, you can get it about twenty feet or so up in the air, just as a single piece.

Look, that sulfur ain't gonna mine itself.
Edit: Most of my sulfur nodes were way up in the island, instead of in cannon range. So there was a lot of long shot arc attempts and broken twigs between me and them.

Keeping things unorganizaed is so easy in this game for 2 reasons: Good amount of slots, you never have to suffer like players of Valheim do early on when chests have crappy amount of slots and in Windrose by the time you need more slots you unlock much better one...

And the fact that you can craft and build from chests?! Bruh! Every game like this should have it. It's a feature I never knew I was missing, but now I know I missed it!

My doctor never showed up at the bonfire for me, so the first ~3 hours was me wandering around in circles very confused. Then clicked the bonfire and summoned him and things went smoother, what with actually getting to have a boat and all. >.> ~12 hours for the first playthrough, then two of my friends dragged me through their worlds and first times as well. You will still have the instant death (in one minute) timer each time you hop onto the island, even by bell, because you're still in the level < III > zone.

Supposedly if you stay in the menu the entire time, it bugs out and then you can just walk around doing whatever, but I didn't attempt that.

Simply putting a tent, set respawn to it, and dying + respawning there will remove the instant death.

As far as price and packages, that will most likely follow Early Access Release info. I find it funny how non restrictive sea combat is too. When me and my friend were testing it for first time, we didn't prepare for combat at all and honestly my friend who was controlling the ship sucked throws under the buss. So... I think WR being an indie game is a MASSIVE contributing factor to why its so good even in our early stages.

The dev team arent bogged down by massive publishers time limits and budgets. And no one outside of the team have ANY input on how the game is made or its direction.

Example is Star wars. Theres no Kathleen Kennedy overlord to stick their nose in and force unnecessary changes that would result in a crappy product that people hate.

Theres also no big brother company whos sole reason is to make as much money as possible. So theres no battlepass, no pay to win, no locking 90% of content behind a paywall and no subscription.

The Windrose Crew are making this game out of passion for the genre and desire to just make an actually good and fun game thats clearly had a lot of love and attention put into it.

I ran it fine on 1060 SSC, the SSC's are factory overclocked. So did ok with it but couldn't handle maxing everything out.

I got an additional 32gb for just over 100 a few months ago when one of my original sticks seemed to die but also didnt. It was weird

We say that but we also forget the back end in multiplayer games. Most MMO even modern ones use ncode optimized for the range of players it supports in whatever localization models they pick. Some of the largest mmo games push for models that see sub 1500 byte packets for client updates. Lets say someone decided to make a really cool pirate based coop game and had ncode frames of say 1200 bytes, that is just 96k most everyones lowend up/down bandwidth is 300k+ so it could easily handle 80 coop players per self hosted server 😜

honestly don't think so. Bushes, stone and trees don't respawn/ regrow. The only thing I know for certain are the mines and enemies that respawn every 2-ish hours.

you can make a new world and get resources from there if needed. your character + their ship inventory are not tied to the world

I built my last playthrough house using potatoes and driftwood. The roof was a bit hard to waterproof but I made a paste using crabmeat that seemed to work 😆 .

How much of the map are we supposed to be able to explore in the demo? It seems like after I got my ketch my access got heavily restricted to the point where an island I visited when I first ventured on my boat is inaccesible.

Those are not the other islands just background scenery some have glitched to a number of them but nothing there.

Demo will run until Early Access and demo is ruffly only about 5% of what will be in Early Access. Explorable area of Archipelago in demo is only about 2.5% of what will be in Early Access. Early Access will be announced in the #news when it is time. See the latest post here#│announcements message with some QoL improvements requested from feedback by the community 😉
As far as price and packages, that will most likely follow Early Access Release info. Also, characters, items and buildings will not transfer to the Early Access, it is part of the demo – different client, different game builds – See Dev comment here #💬│windrose-chat message. So enjoy playing the demo for now until that time
