Something else that helps, for knowledge sake, and something that I've had to drill into my friends a few times. Don't drop things within Bonfire range. Drop them outside. I would say, out in the ocean (Way out there) is fine, except if you accidentally throw something you actually want, it's gone to the bottom of the ocean. However, outside of Bonfire range, on world reload, the items are deleted. Within bonfire range, they will stay, no matter how many times you reload. For better or worse (building piers, and docks, I'm looking at you. Swimming please)

Demo will run until Early Access and demo is ruffly only about 5% of what will be in Early Access. Explorable area of Archipelago in demo is only about 2.5% of what will be in Early Access. Early Access will be announced in the #news when it is time. See the latest post here โ โ”‚announcementsโ  from Yar_Master. As far as price and packages, that will most likely follow Early Access Release info. Also, characters, items and buildings will not transfer to the Early Access, it is part of the demo โ€“ different client, different game builds. So enjoy playing the demo for now until that time

Is there a guide to the naval combat icons? For example I see what looks like damaged sails which makes sense after chain shot. Not sure if where you hit the opposing ship effects combat whether bow, broadside, mast, etc. Or do ships basically have just a single damage pool.

Thanks, what really raised this question was another icon popped up during my last encounter. Hard to see the little bugger, but I want to say it was a person or people. Maybe crew damage? Made me think there is more going on than I think and there may be more strategy that we see on the surface. But hard to know without a guide and no way to do anything like mouse-over the icon while sailing and in combat ๐Ÿ˜‰

In terms of Demo VS EA it depends really. Like, there are 3 islands in Demo vs ~30 islands (plus some smaller landmarks) in EA. 1 biome in Demo vs 3 biomes (with bosses!) in EA. 1 playable ship -> 3 playable ships. In general when we say the Early Access will be ~10 times bigger than the Demo we take the average. If we talk about time, excluding some optional 100-hrs base building (I know that feel), EA version should take 50-70 hrs to complete the story.

Windrose locations are scattered across the islands, so fairly speaking, a huge part of the map is water. But IMHO the density of the islands and the points of interest on them is...satifying. Hopefully you'll see for yourself soon (tm)

They stress tested 20 internally and the mod group tested a smaller number, so numbers are possible. But we currently do not have dedicated servers and it needed a bit more optimization and polish. So for the demo it was kept to 4. What those numbers will be on Early Access we and the Dev's have no idea at this point. So will just have to wait and see.

Trees will not regrow in the demo and you can't craft gunpowder either. Caves respawn every 2 hours irl.
