No dedicated servers take money, it isn't in Early access yet, just a demo. Once it goes to Early Access the dedicated servers will pop up.

They stress tested 20 internally and the mod group tested a smaller number, so numbers are possible. But we currently do not have dedicated servers and it needed a bit more optimization and polish. So for the demo it was kept to 4. What those numbers will be on Early Access we and the Dev's have no idea at this point. So will just have to wait and see.

But even when Conan Exiles was new, Funcom had already made other Conan titles—Age of Conan: Unchained had seen a certain degree of success. So it’s not the same starting budget or situation. I actually think Windrose is more impressive in that sense.

For many it is a Router and/or security issue with either firewall settings of shield wall. That is all we can suggest for now other than keep trying. In Early Access you can plant trees - and that is why they don't grow back. but you can if you want to keep them around the base just farm other servers and load your ship up and then bring the wood shipment back to main 🙂

@pseudo shoal sometimes its a bit frustrating, esp. with "higher" buildings as there's currently no "free look building"-mode. Also some tiles wont just latch easily, so it does need a little love still. But overall i'd rate it 7.5 of 10. It's solid, the "drag-mode" is pretty nice to have, and it's looking pretty good too.

if you're in need of lots and lots of logs (which is probably a common thing right now, because of the building contest) there's a "faster" way of chopping down trees. Get into your ship, use cannons and blast trees away, once there are enough trees lying around, get off and chop them into logs. Not only is it a bit faster, but way more fun too.

Also in EA it won’t be as bad as you will be able to plant trees and have better crafted tools to chop faster.

The ai is too hard in this game, compared to what you have. Combat is not responsive enough for fighting 4 people at the same time. Kiting one enemy after another is not fun. Needs a balance

Combat is generally fine. But 1v3+ is where I think it's a bit unfun as well. Something similar to for honor would be nice, aka you parry or block one of em, you parry/ block all that hit you in that window. For now I just recommended kiting them, as unfun as it might be. Or get rid of one of them with the gun and then proceed to 1v1 the other.

btw don't forget to use the mechanic where you get health back. If hit, your hp shows two states, red and slightly brighter red. the brighter part is what you can regain when you hit an enemy. for multiple enemies the executioner is pretty neat since it sweeps from one side to the other. Food buffs your health as well. Upgrade your weapon as early as possible, since especially in the demo, equipment is the part that makes you strong.

Well the games are self hosted, so the lag isn't really the devs fault at all.
I played with numerous people, including some from the U.S. (I'm in the UK), so I expected some lag.
The issue is more that because the combat is so heavily reliant on timing, it doesn't suit multiplayer things very well, as it heavily punishes higher ping. But that cutoff is around 60 ping, which means even people within your own country are likely to get a worse game experience for playing co-op
