did you find the rapier of 1000 cuts yet? It is very very useful for large groups. swipey swipey a few times, let them bleed a bit while you run and bandage, the lower end guys will be dead or near dead by the time they get to you, and then you can use your bonker of choice to finish off with heavy attack

you can get +15 to a stat with 2 food buffs, which literally doubles a single stat at char L5 😄

You can get that "temporary health" back by dealing damage to enemies

Currently for the demo 4 is the limit. The devs internally tested more and they got to 20 before things started to get unpleasant.

Unfortunately for the time being there’s not a lot we can do until the system is patched. It’s not finished and nowhere near perfect. My best recommendation is to stick with solo/offline. sometimes the issue resolves itself though according to a couple of other players to perhaps give it some time.

to set down a bell for where you want to fast travel, yeah. then once you have a second or third (can make up to 10 bells) you can move about freely between them, and even go to them from your ship

So I have done everything in the demo but take my ship out and sink Black beards ship. One thing I cant find is a boars head to make the Trophy. I killed the 40 for the Challenge but yet to have a boars head drop. I got a few of the Dodo bird heads but not one from the boars. Am I missing something or is it something that I need to find and not get off a drop? I tried to look it up but there is nothing on google about it.

Any time i try to sail there I get the warning that your ship will be destroyed. Was the map a fake or did they just block access to this area in this version of the demo?

Back in the last playtest I made a nice base up on a rock. I always did things very carefully because I was scared of dying all the time.
Until I got bugged and fell to the ground making me scream cause I was scared of dying until I realized there was no fall damage.

So far I’m loving this demo. The build system, crafting, and combat are all on point.

Multiplayer is still a bit rough in spots, but it’s very promising. The progression system is nice and clearly arranged. It’s easy enough for even the speed reader who is too lazy to read notes and such.

It just needs rentable servers for a proper multiplayer experience and text chat for those role players who actually want to role play out their pirate adventure in more than just voice lines. Don’t take this as saying VRP isn’t valid, just that text emoting is simply superior when it comes to full storytelling.

That’s my two cents.

1. When sailing an occasional message will pop up saying leave immediately or be destroyed. Is this the end of the demo map?

2. On the map, some sections are clear but others (areas I have been) are hatched through with diagonals. What's the deal with that?

I, IRL, have a Brown Bess musket - and use it as often as I can. I don't want my musket in game to be gilded, with jewels encrusted in it, or barnacles or coral growing on my sword.
I have simple taste.
Just a sabre or rapier that looks like a normal sabre or rapier, and a musket that looks like a normal musket please.
Preferably without hamstringing myself in the process.

I've seen a lot of people experiencing issues when trying to create/join a co-op world. It either sends you back to the menu or give "An unexpected error occurred". I had the same issue last night and realized that my ISP was blocking the domain during connection. For me, it was Spectrum's security shield, and turning it off resolved the problem. Figured I would post this in here in case anyone else comes looking for a potential solution to that problem. If there is a better place to post this please let me know.

HMS Victory and the USS Constitution for example. What do their helms look like? Two of the most influential tall ships still in existence today - the Victory being a first rate ship of the line (literally a country's floating aura and just a much of a flex as they were warships).
They look like wheels.

Great question. There was an internal test of 20 done, and the mod team did a smaller test. So the numbers are possible. For the demo they decided 4 was a safe stable number to be optimized for now. What those numbers will look like we will not know until Early Access and Dedicated servers.

Demo will run until Early Access and is ruffly only about 5% of what will be in Early Access, but explore able area of Archipelago is only about 2.5% of what will be in Early Access.
