to be fair we got a few sneak peeks here and there in chat a little while ago, so theres more than just videos. patience is key since games take time. best we can do rn is wait and keep things positive.

after all, people keep forgetting that rushing a game usually doesn´t end well. My guess is that we just didnt get much more info since they want to reveal more during the IGNFanfest which would make sense imo. Just give them time to cook and do things properly, theyre probs already sweating as is haha

Just place down more workbenches lol, you can remove if needed later. Valheim had one of the best building mechanics yet. Windrose was great too, the ease of making walls with windows etc was a breath of fresh air

I get where your coming from, especially in this case of it's happened a lot lately and I personally haven't really said or done much about it beyond saying gross. If you want my 100% honest opinion I just haven't had the energy to fight it much lately at all in any context, the only reason I was talking about your image was because it was originally posted In creative which I take a much harder stance on because it's a channel to show off the talent of the amazing fan art that this game has already started getting.

I didn't mean to offend or sound harsh with saying that didn't mean you should post it here all I meant by that was that general shouldn't be used as a way to avoid the rules of another channel when the post has the same purpose.

That Alpha was def not early access ready. I looovveed what I played and support the hell out of this game. And make people aware of it. It was great for what was avalaible for land battles.crafting,building. But the nautical combat was vertually non existant. As there is no real game of its kind and a lot of pirate fans have wanted something like this (lets be real). I would want them to really make sure its good ENOUGH for an early access. Needs more work in the ship combat for sure

i haven't had the chance to test the game yet as i just learned about it but i've been very desperately looking for a game that controlls somewhat like sea of thieves but with real progression. are you potentially able to just play with your friends and every action has to be hands on rather than the overlord gameplay with AI crew?

Well, during the playtest, coop was possible and the aim has shifted to a coop PVE experience so playing with yer pals is intended and will be a big part.

Ship gameplay was very much like Black Flag where each person controlled their own ship. Its unknown at this time if the devs plan on adding individual stations to ships so multiple people can crew a single vessel

I 100% agree. While I dislike SoT in its current state, I DID love crewing a ship with friends.

Personally I would have the game give bonuses when operated by multiple people. Such as cannon accuracy or damage getting a buff if you have someone specifically operating the guns. Or give the ship more survivability/repair speed if you have someone working on ship management.

Stuff like that would be the perfect bridge between Black Flag gameplay that we all know and love AND the coop feel of crewing a larger ship with friends that LOADS of people are also looking for

Hard disagree, cannon shots definitely have math on how and where to aim not to mention there's so many different projectiles that all effect a ship different in that game, if I shoot funny ball at middle stern I get yelled at because that's actually a ball made out of the blood of Captain Windowbeards body but only from his revenge arc so in order to be optimal I get um actuallyed into thinking you gotta slam it into the second left most window or it's completely useless

eh, yes and no. Yes it takes practice (sometimes lots of practice) but also no because after a few shots while the wheel is going one direction, you learn that cannon shots angle or arc differently to when the wheel is going the other way.

yeah i think it mainly comes down to the big studios not having a relationship with their players. even some community managers are so disconnected from the actual playerbase its unreal. most bigger companies are just throwing out mediocre stuff left and right and see criticism as hate (there is people that legit just throw hate around, but even in those there usually is some kind of truth to it). the pirate genre needs some kind of revival anyways, theres plenty of games, yes, but none so far (windrose not included rn since its not out yet and i cant have an opinion on that) have scratched that itch people had since black flag. skull and bones tried but it went through the usual development hell and ended up, at most okay-ish, instead of what players wanted, at least as far as i can tell.

oof its been a while since ive seen a video of it so i might be telling some bs rn. but all i remember was that it was supposed to be like black flag. then they went with something along the lines of siege with boats, and when sot came out they changed everything again. they originally had a director who was working on black flag as well, but then they changed directors and the game just didnt know what it wanted to be anymore. lots of people get fired, shuffled around and so on, losing money, panicking devs. something like that is what i picked up. dont know if its true but it seems to be. never played skull and bones and honestly, i didnt hear much about it that would make me play it.
