gta wont make that big of an impact, it'll probably have a long story, but online will probably be a mess, without much content at launch, and it's going to be console only in 2026, probably won't launch PC till 2027 so they can milk extra purchases with minimal additions

So, there's plenty that excites me about this game, but beyond that, I am wondering how trading items will work. I remember playing some kind of pirate game back in 08-09 timeframe where you could travel across the Mediterranean sea after buying goods in lets say a port in italy and then transport it to cape town or some other far away port. Basically, the farther you took these goods, i.e. coffee, tea, etc.. the more money you would get when you sold them. The risk was higher that you'd run into enemy player pirates who could attempt to run you down and either sink your ship or board you and kill you. Im not sure if anyone remembers the game, but during the ship battles it was top down, the wind direction mattered for speed, and you also had different types of cannon shots. Grape shot was excellent for slowing ships down by ruining their sails in order to either escape from or to run down. There were many different ships you could buy with either a focus on being a merchant or a pirate.

Hi, I’ve been playing Crosswind for several days and everything was working fine until today. I found soil and wanted to start planting. I built a garden, and the game shows that I can plant something (the area is highlighted green), but nothing happens when I try to confirm or plant. Since that moment, I also can’t build about half of the items anymore — like the jewelry table or wall trophies. It was working before, but ever since I tried planting, it seems like something broke. You don't need Epic tier gear to fight Hands unless you're going for like an insane difficulty battle I'd say. The upgrade kits would suffice for the most part for weapons and armour.

you can, you can make bells that act as spawn points and set up your base at the first island thats what i did

i completed the whole alpha started on monday used a series of bellsfor spawn points to farm faster

We go off what we’re told and what we’re given. If someone has the crosswind playtest in their steam library then it will still be usable once the game opens up in the next playtest.

The same has happened to players from the last playtest in November. They retained access to the game during this one.

I reckon it was an oversight on the devs part, truffle targets pretty much everything, including other players, and because truffle isnt bound by the same rules as players, he can deal damage in tortuga

when that happens to me i just go do a little farming , wood chopping or something and usually they'll start spawning again. If you start sinking scouts frigates will eventually come. Sink scouts board figates repeat. I was able to keep it going for a couple hours before they stopped spawning again

If you follow them further out ive had multiple frigates spawn for me sank one so i could board the other

with more loot too

i just streamed it for 3 hours and at one point nothing was spawning but when i got off the boat and went and starting chopping swamp wood two scouts spawned near the island i was on and then I was able to go from boat to boat for a couple hours

Thanks, I found it! I saw the field earlier, but I only saw the "dried" corn, which yielded fiber... and it was scary at the time with the leader goat that was there, so I never really returned 🙂 got my corn and you're right, it unlocked the millstone, as weird as it sounds 😄

The thing that bugged me about playing this alpha, especially with ship combat/boarding- is that not once could I make somoene walk the plank.
There are a few things a pirate game needs, and one of them is making someone walk the plank.
You engage a ship, line up and board, fight off the goons and the sergeant- THEN the ships captain spawns in for a 1v1 fight with you. if you win, you make him walk the plankand his ship is yours. You lose, you walk the plank and get no reward.
However it's implimented- if i can't make someone walk a plank in the next test imma complain. A lot.

I just finished the survey and hope I conveyed all my thoughts - most of the comments great and some not so great. One thing I'd like to point out (incase any devs read this), the leaves blowing around during heavy storms was a small but meaningful touch. It made it feel real. Whoever designed it - well done.

Well most of the feedback I've seen has been very positive already, so the baseline is already great, the roadmap also, so now it's just the waiting game for it to fulfill its potential

You need to upgrade to +4 on all your armor before you beat the boss of the biome you got the armor ability to make it before you can move on. Or you can go to Torguga and buy the armor. I think it was 300? But yea. You have to grind before you can move onto bosses. This is a crafting / exploring game through and through. I was trying to rush through it but the power level at gates was helpful to be like… hey Arcadeic you dummy… you need better armor.

after hands is the friggin grind for the enchanted stuff in swamps , follow the quest

you wont have full upgraded set by time the server goes down im certain

unless its midnight my time , in that case you have just under 19 hours
