Keys coming from steam are randomized. Dev team has no control over the ones Steam distributes. They can get their own keys to distribute, but the Steam sign ups are all RNG

in the early stages of alpha game play for any game you have to be careful with the amount of people in a some what controlled rate to ensure stability or it all crashes. slow steady release is the best way to go

I get it's frustrating wanting to join an ongoing test and not getting there. As mentioned many times in this discord, the devs did not expect the massive response they got for sign ups, and are slowly releasing more keys to ensure the servers can handle it. The game is in an alpha stage right now, and this is something everyone here needs to remember. We're in testing phases. Eventually it'll close and likely progress will be wiped as fixes/adjustments are made. Best thing to do is hang out, check in on updates and announcements and hope for the best

yeah I think my definition of alpha and the devs definition greatly differs. Mine is a so-so gaming experience with a ton of bugs and glitches that they devs rely on the community to find. The devs definition is to cook WAY too hard, make an extremely polished game both graphically and in game mechanics but don't add the entire game yet.

As someone who played most survival and 700 hrs in valheim, this game is pretty solid so far, strong base to create a great game

One thing im happy about when it comes to this game. I played a ton of atlas, but it felt dead. I mean sure you had the undead ships and other players. but thats it. This game already has more life to it, from the undead to players, pirates, crew, animals. Now if there are towns, cities, villages ect with npcs living their lives it would pretty much be a near perfect game and everything i ever wanted for a pirate/ survival game.
