Hello everyone. I have some info you'll like. I have been given a small handful of 5 playtest keys. Now I understand that everyone is very excited to get one and play, but I want us to have a bit of fun in the process.

I will eventually be hosting a couple of community events. Some ideas right now are; a game night/tournament, an art competition, storywriting maybe etc. Just some small, lighthearted and community driven events with something to gain and have some fun in the process. The idea is that at the end of each one I'll give the winner one of my five access keys.

Right now this is just a rough plan and ideally I want to host one event per key so there's more to do for everyone involved. So with that in mind I AM taking suggestions on what people want to do. If you want to make a suggestion, feel free to drop me a pm or ping me here in General.

Since I am moving out of my house tomorrow it might not be for a week or two but I will do my best to make it happen.

They are not trying to crash test the servers (opening the flood gates) and get everyone angry for servers not being up - that never goes well for the team or the community, they are being smart at opening up slowly - monitoring the status and progress and as things look good - slowly adding more in.

@sudden fjord Initially yes its a solo/co-op on your island area which is massive in size, but not completely finished - much is saved for later on. Eventually there will be a "HUB" for players to meet, group up for PVE/PVP content and raids, etc. That will be the MMO type related material content. @ember crescent We've been told later on There will be an introduction to the studio and the Crosswind Crew. For now that isn't a priority, getting the game developed and this playtest out the way is. So that will come later - but it is a 50+ person Studio, more will come at a later time . 🙂

@cold marlin They have been sending out more and more access invitations each day - Steam randomly selects from those that applied - keep in mind that during the initial opening of playtest applicants, they were only expecting 8,000, and received 140,000 applicants in 1 week and had to temporarily shut it down. So theres a massive amount of people and have since had many more apply on Steam, so be patient and keep an eye out as well for the giveaways as they have done a few of them in discord last couple days.
