#palmer log review

I don't know that I simmed conduits for dslice specifically, now that you mention i
its usual to use tornado after flag not before
TBH I probably just snagged whatever was on subcreation
i am unsure how you got 3 finisher in a row here
oh tornado probably
nvm
no, tornado was on 15
so should be after tornado
๐ค
Parry? Lul
possible, but 2 times in a row would be quite unlucky
IDK ... I didn't stream the key last night (I'm starting to live stream to a private YT to review keys)
what i can se is tornado being used quite inefficiently
I'm not seeing much black powder damage. Maybe your damage is a little too ethical to be shown as high on overalls :)
but also your single target/low target rotation is sloppy
you did not align dance to symbols
and then end up doing stuff like this
probably hard to say if the pack died here, likely due to how it ends after
I was trying to funnel into prio targets, since getting incapped and the big guys are a pain in the ass. I think I funneled too much though
but in general
you rarely align flag/symbols/tornado
what is kind of weird given that it usually aligns quite well
okay, so in general - I need to Flag, then Symbols -> Tornado
also like here
And I probably need to worry less about funneling and more about doing damage itself
Yeah, I'm just full sending it and not aligning it at all. Okay, I need to clean that up.
or here, you dance, then have downtime shortly but still seem to have a pack?
because you asap start doing symbols
so dancing here was a waste if it was between packs
or you did not play for uptime for any specific reason
this is again just sloppy play
losing a lot of globals
flag-finish-cooldowns
symbols into nothing what was totally fine here
but then
Yeah, I think that comes from probably doing that wrong in 9.1 too with Assassination
why is symbols so delayed here and not synced with dance
I just didn't sync it? No good reason, honestly. Different KBs
i mean thats the entire log
everything is just send on cooldown
that works fine to a degree in keys with a lot of aoe
but thats something people do who don't want to learn the spec
but rather spend time in #outlaw memeing how the spec is only 2 buttons
Yeah, I definitely want to learn the spec. I just need to keep reading through all of the guides and review this a few times and continue to improve.
I think I'm focusing on the wrong things
Trying to focus on shit that in the long run isn't that important
And because of that, I'm fucking up the actual important things
Thank you for this. Next time I post a log I hope to have a lot of this cleaned up and just continue making progress to not suck
its fall fine, everyone starts out with a lot of mistakes
but m+ masks a lot of things esp. in aoe heavy situations
you can still peform decent to a degree when at least sending your cooldowns
also m+ is probably a harder way to learn the spec given that there is so much going on
so its easy to make mistakes
I've been playing Sub for a little over a week or two now. I know I've learned a lot, but I also know that I have a very long way to go. M+ has never been my comfort. I'm far more comfortable in raid where it's more scripted and I know exactly what to expect.
I'm splitting focus between doing the actual rotations correctly, trying not to get one-shot by tunneling, etc.
I also realized last night that I need to adjust my lag delay, because I wind up sending things by hammering keys that I don't want to send. I wind up overcapping CP and stuff because of the input delay
around 200 to 250 should be a nice value to fix this
Yeah I think I'm like 400 now and it's a bit too high
I found adding /cqs before my finishers made it a lot easier to not overcap CP
As it cancels any builder I might have queued up by brain delay xD
sending another spell also replces your queued spell
gotcha, okay - so a lot of good info to look at here and adjust my rotation.
Thanks for looking at this. I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to do this for everyone
i am sorry if it seemed a bit agressive
Naw you're perfectly fine. I'm making relatively egregious mistakes
I'm still new to the spec and pushing keys in general, so I have a lot to learn and I'd prefer the more direct approach, personally
it might be interessting to watch a streamer like ramfam or jpc
and see how they play around their cooldowns
cooldowns are rly spammy on sutbelty esp. dance
Yeah, I watch JPC a fair bit but I need to watch him do more keys. I never paid a ton of attention when I was Sin
but others you might see them line up always ๐
Yeah, I think 9.1 Sin spoiled me
It was basically "don't hold ever, just full-send"
And now I'm having to break that mentality of just going full on send mode
its still the same
and a lot of times its the right call to send
esp. with shadowblades
people love to hold that cooldown in keys
partly for 10 minutes
and if you see that you are like ๐ค that does not seem correct
I'd love to say I never do that
But my first Sub key I didn't flag until like 7m into the key, and it was a SD

@burnt girder logged onto ptr
seems like the 4p proc ignores symbols
so you don't get crit on all strikes
that they changed that
oh... i wanted to post that in #subtlety
my bad ^^
lol
