damn, this dead af
Yo, what spec to play now for HC raiding?
Hey, I'm new to rouge for TBC and going to try and learn for PvP/PvE. I'm currently playing human and wondering what professions would be considered "best" for both aspects of the game.
I've heard JC is good for trinket, engi is good for goggles and tinkers but BS is good for mace in P1.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Grab it before it gets deleted: https://www.reddit.com/r/CrackVault/comments/1o5dfae/tradingview_premium_lifetime_v296_fully_unlocked/
JC/Engi is BIS.
JC gets access to more powerful gems, and Engi gets a ton of tricks plus goggles.
hello where can i ask about wow retail as a new player

yo does anyone have the rogue mop discord?
#classic-discussion message Rogue Classic
Hola
cooking up a sub build for classic hardcore. curious what you guys think, how much value does MoD give in pve would i actually notice it would it help me get the back easier?
I played sub a few runs, it's a lot of fun. You really have to be selective on your engagements, and MoD can help with that but it's less important when you consider that you aren't really fighting much your own level on a melee run.
I am a camo shill, but that's mostly cause I don't have the attention span for slow movement.
What spec do you guys think is best for phase 6 PVP with naxx gear? Mace stun spec 2x maces? Hemo swords? Or daggers spec with kingsfall
Does nelf make your regular stealth better as well or just while using shadow meld?
https://shadowpanther.net/stealth.htm heres a good spreadsheet that breaks down all the stealth and stealth detection modifiers in classic by item/skill
I think a lot of people run cb/hemo still in P6 with an MSA MH and Claw of the frostwyrm OH. My rogue on era played daggers in raid so i typically ran the imp BS pvp spec with KF and DS for weapons which i feel like is still very viable. running tea and renatakis allows for very large burst in P6
oh shit thank you
does rogue playstyle change in classic and tbc cuz of energy ticks?
i just joing mop, what would you say is better to lvl as if you want to spam dungeons
is there any good research for mop rogue min maxing? looked up on wowhead but there is no clear 2 bis professions
best race alliance for pvp rogue in tbc?
Human
What’s the best PvP spec for rogue in classic? Just started playing on Nightslayer almost lvl 20 still unsure. I used to main a Druid and hunter back in the day decided to switch it up.
That's because there isn't a clear cut 2 bis. Engi is typically a default simply because it's on-demand which lets you sync to CDs and burst windows, but the 2nd choice can vary WILDLY.
Check pins for Rogue Classic discord
I tried googling and cant find my answer so figured I'd try (and poossibly get flames) here and see what I get. Does anyone know of a gear set(s) for Classic SoD that a rogue can do solo invasion boosting?
Why does everyone hate on rogue in tbc?
Hi all, I am new to leveling rogue and wanted to ask if deadly poison or instant poison is better on anniversary realms where there is no debuff limit. Is it still instant poison?
DPS is lacklustre and melee in general are hated on in the early phases due to mechanics and having weak aoe for dungeons. Still playable, but doing non-GDKP pugs might be annoying
Deadly technically is superior if it can stack to 5 and tick for a while. This isn't always the case, and there's a big issue in that all rogues feed into the same deadly stack, so effectively only one rogue can use it in a raid. This is a unique issue to Vanilla; TBC+ resolves it.
Ah, ty!
hey new to rogue trying to see what class does better in dungeons and pvp. assass or sub
Hello 👋 everyone

Are any of yall going to still be playing rogue going into tbc or switching?
Never played rogue in tbc, it’s that bad in it ?
the damage comes back in later phases but it has no raid wide utility at all
There is one use case being Improved Expose Armor. It's good enough that most groups will bring 1 rogue, but there's a lot of opinions on the ImpEA rotation; some people enjoy it, some don't. The big thing is the limited number of Rogue-fillable raid slots vs. the number of people that will play it, even in unoptimized raid groups. You've got for sure 1 in most groups, and maybe 2 in randoms/"for fun but still good" groups.
I'm tired of motherfuckers in school tellin' me, always in the barbershop
"Van Cleef ain't 'bout this, Van Cleef ain't 'bout that"
My boy a BD, on fuckin' Mathias and them

Shut the fuck up, y'all don't live with that Defias
Y'all know that Defias got caught with a ratchet

Them Defias savages out there
If I catch another motherfucker talkin' sweet about Van Cleef
I'm fuckin' beatin' they ass
I'm not fuckin' playin' no more
THESE BITCHES LOVE SOSA
Subtlety mainly mixed with assassination is top tier in PvP. Burst is insane.
Hemmo/cold blood is the way! Especially with TBC coming.. can’t wait for Shadow Step!!!
oh am i in the wrong chat, im talking mop
hey MOP Classic rogues! advice, two diff BIS lists everything is the same accept they have the 522 vendor trinket as 2nd BIS with Rentaki's, vs Bad Juju ....juju seems stronger especially the thunderforged version >.>
It's two very similar output setups, but it's fight time dependent. Valor trinket being a "standard" one with a 2m ICD makes it tend to perform worse than double RPPM on odd-numbered fight durations, which for a lot of people does not matter. That makes the Talisman setup a lot easier to get.
The other changes in the gear is entirely due to the trinket swaps. Talisman has a ton of hit, so you have to remove it from elsewhere.
any brilliant minds know why this macro only uses one and not the other? I've swapped them aroun da few times and its not hitting both, even with multiple presses, only whichever one is first in sequence. Please @ me as I don't check here often. Ty for your help!
I think blood fury is on GCD and was taken off in worlk
Wotlk*
So you'll likely need to make a simple cast sequence
I have a question, I'm wanting to build a mace rogue for pvp and I'm struggling to find a solid build. If anyone has some tips I would appreciate it!
hello there, a question, is Krol Blade or Thrash Blade better?
Im undead sword and going "fighter" rogue and sub dual spec atm sub for pvp on pvp server, so im looking for whats best in the 50 lvl range for both things, and have 0 experience with daggers at all xD
It's the exact same thing except you Backstab instead of Sinister Strike. As Combat.
Sub you can PvP with swords just fine with Hemo build.
For PvE you want weapon skill at 308 ideally. Only + weap skill items give dagger skill, so it's reccomended to use those instead. But Horde Warriors are going to use axes anyway because Orc racial, so swords won't be too hard to get.
ye, but in that case im not human, u still say krol? ive got it gifted so i could also go thrash and sell it, thats what im uncertain what to do haha ^^
Thank You 😄
You get Mirah's Song from a Scholo quest chain so your Off-hand is easy enough to get also.
Err, lvl 50. I looked over that part, might not be able to get the OH then.
Yeah, lvl 55 required to pick up quest. Kirtonos the Herald - Quest - Classic World of Warcraft https://share.google/ZKBkeRRIY561TVmRG
Kirtonos the Herald is the final quest of a series begun by completing a short dialogue with Eva Sarkhoff outside of the Scholomance dungeon in the Western Plaguelands. Players can locate Kirtonos by venturing into Scholomance and clicking on the brazier on the porch area to the right of the second room players enter. Completing Kirtonos the Her...
Ye running blade of omen offhand atm
Oof, check the AH. A lvl 50 green item should be better than Omen. Granted your off-hand is mostly a stat stick. So don't blow a bunch of gold for 1 or 2 more stats.
ye stat stick that as fast as possible for also poison procs, can also be dagger i guess information on that is a bit wonky many ppl saying different stuff xD
Hello guys, I am lvl 31 rogue and would like to know what is good sword combo to buy from AH?
I atm have The Butcher in main hand and dagger in offhand, would like to upgraded so I am more lethal while lvling 😄
Hey is there a more up to date classic rogue discord that also has tbc?
Take a look at community page on wowhead, I’ve seen some classic discord links there
sad to ask this question idr tho but, what is the energy regen number after the decimal? I'm at 15.7
Energy (and all other resource types) are technically floating point values. The game only displays whole numbers, but that decimal place is tracked.
If you went to zero energy and then took two screenshots exactly 1 second apart, in the first you'd have 15 energy, and in the next you'd have 31.
Guys when the pre patch comes, will it change anything in rogue leveling?
we dont get anything i guess
besides the exp world buff
Never played classic wow
And I heard tbc is coming out
Really wanna try it
What game do i buy in battle net
It requires active sub only, you may buy one of 2 cosmetics/mount pack though if interested
Just switch the type of wow from retail to classic anniversary above the “play” button in bnet app
ty
The only noticeable change is 33% required exp squish till level 60
Rogues are SSS+ tier in TBC, very fun
pvp is insane for us, playing Subt with double swords
I chose to casually play ffxiv until new retail expansion releases lmao
first time playing it i just want something thats not sweaty so i can save all my patience for m+ aids until march
yeah, great game for that.
its the most casual MMO imo, besides GW2
Hey everyone, anyone knows good pvp rogue classic wow disc by any chance ?
Let me know of you find one 😄
what professions should i use while lvling up in classic? (anniversary) im a new rogue
but only in pvp no? heard in pve they're on par with retri pala or boomkin, and that warrior is better + ranged are overall more desired like lock/hunter/mage
Not anymore! It's nerfed content so the fights are shorter. Which means rogues will be good again
hmm, that's nice if true 😛
It is true 🙂
is there a separate discord for classic/tbc or is it only this channel in general?
i'm CE in retail, but new to classic (59 lvl rn), and the gearing seems so confusing xD
dunno what dungs to run or where to aim
or if it's even worth it since tbc gear will be way better soon, but if there's a way to gear up better for tbc then why not
since there are 6 phases gear or something like that im confused xD
Stack up on ab,av,wsg marks. Wait for pre-patch and hand them in for honor
buy gear that way. Honor will be doubled, and prices are lower both in terms of marks and actual honor you need for the gear
haven't touched pvp there yet, so i shouldn't do raids but pvp then? 😛
im tryna find a guild as well, but it might be hard to try out raids with them if i've got no gear for now xD
If you want to gear quick now before tbc, PvP is the fastest and safest way. The meta is to spam AV to gain as much honor as possible. Not now, but when the pre.patch hits
so should I start doing AV before pre patch and in pre patch hand for honor, or both after pre-patch
Both. Honor is useless now. But the marks are needed.
Get to 20 marks if you can in av/ab/wsg. When TBC pre-p hits. Hand in those marks for honor (honor becomes a currency)
okay, ty
And the reason I say 20, is because the marks are capped at 20 until pre-patch. Then it capps at 99 or 100
@random frigate @sterile marsh @stuck sonnet there’s a classic server linked in the pins of this channel, you can also look up Simonizeshow’s disc
Hello I’m a newish player, with TBC coming, is ambush/backstab not used anymore? And will there be another burst build if so?
hey guys, what would you say is the best race pick for a rogue in Classic Aniversary (TBC inc)? I keep reading trolls, and i am kinda almost fully PvE
PvE horde is pretty much just anything that isn't Undead. The difference between BE/Troll/Orc is too insignificant to be concerned over, as natural fight RNG will impact your DPS far more than any of those racial choices - assuming you're maximizing those racials. Orc is the easiest, BE requires a bit of management (and you may sometimes want to save it for the silence component), and Troll can be a massive headache to maximize as the effect is based on your healthpool.
Is this the right place to pose a question regarding MoP classic? I'm looking @ wowhead's gem suggestions and it's advising Adept gems for orange/yellow sockets for assassin rogue. (agi mastery). When I plug that into wowsims, I lose a little dps compared to gemming Deadly (agi/crit) in those sockets. Wowhead says crit is the lowest stat prio, but for some reason the sim says i get more dps out of it than mastery. Is the sim wrong?
What's your current item level? I've never seen Crit go above Mastery. Generally speaking the priority is Mastery > Crit > Haste but sometimes Haste and Crit can flip around, but Mastery should always lead.
516.9
not saying my crit is above mastery. just saying if i use mastery gems, my dps is a few hundred dps lower on the sim than using crit gems
Can you send an export link of your sim? It'll be a big link
So it does look like you're just in a situation where Crit and Mastery are extremely close in value. A lot of this is just drop RNG, but compared to my character (using identical gem setups) you've got only 200 less mastery rating, but 1000 less crit rating.
You certainly could change those Adepts to Deadly, however I don't think you're going to see a real DPS change from it.
One thing I did notice, you've got Nightstalker on your first talent instead of Shadow Focus. SF is significantly better, but you might've just had the the wrong talents when importing your character to the sim
If i swap all the "deadly" gems to "adept" i lose like 53 dps
oh i am running nightstalker on purpose. i like the speed. ofc now i'm going to go look to see what shadowstalker actually does
I am curious if this is being impacted by how much hit you have, as it's not something I've looked into before. I'm the person maintaining the MoP Rogue sims
Oh. 75% less energy when stealthed. nice but is it really that effective? being stealthed doesn't really account for that much time right?
oh nice 🙂 cool. Feels like i'm meeting (sorta) a celebrity
Everything on that row is only for stealth. SF is just mechanically better than NS. SF gives you a functionally free Mutilate (Dispatch in execute) cast, while NS is best used on an Envenom cast.
SF just adds more DPS overall from your Vanish casts
/nod
wow. changing that talent in the sim resulted in a 7065 dps increase. That seems crazy for "a single mostly free ability maybe twice per combat"
It has a relatively massive impact on the opener as well
Does the cost reduction linger for a few seconds or is it limited to only one ability?
Just the one
This is why I didn't get good grades in math, lol. That really doesn't seem like it would make that big of a difference.
Look at it this way - Nightstalker adds 50% damage, so if you use all of them on Envenom, you're adding maybe 1-2 Envenom's worth of damage.
Shadow Focus on the other hand lets you generate more combo points for almost free. This has weird interactions as well with Shadow Blades this tier, so you wind up adding 3-4 Envenom's worth of combo points.
/nod. To be honest, I mostly took NS for the speed increase. spose it would be wiser to swap it to SF for raids
Oh yeah NS + Burst of Speed is great for things like soloing old raids and dailies
so basically tho, you're saying this is kind of an anomaly given my current gear level and in general it would be better to gem with the adept's agi/mastery gems instead of the deadly ones?
It's mainly two things
a) the difference is so small you're not likely to actually see that change do anything in-game
b) at any point it could flip back to normal so you'd wind up switching them again
I have no reason to believe that the sim is wrong, I just don't think it's a significant enough difference to actually do anything with it. If this was a Raidbots sim for retail, this would've been spat out as a result like "And 1+ other similar result" that it doesn't even display.
/nod. Thank you ^_^
anyone have an accurate energy ticker?
nug energy is slightly off and it's messing with my openers
Real quick. which stats should I go for while leveling as a rogue in hardcore classic? Agil and Stam? How about strength an AP?
damn this channel is dead af
cause this server is kinda only retail rogue
Is there a tbc/classic server?
Linked in pins. Rogue Classic is a catch-all for every version
SimonizeShow also does a lot of Vanilla/TBC/WotLK/CN Titan things in his server
Thanks mate really appreciate it
Does anyone know the strat for MOP - rogues getting ji-kuns buff 2x with cloak?
When the boss uses Feed Young, there's 2 different projectiles, a brown one and a green one.
You need to use a feather charge (so you have to do a nest first), and fly to the mouth of the boss before the brown projectiles fire. The brown projectiles will apply two buffs to you, and then you use Cloak of Shadows. This will allow you to get another stack from the Green projectiles that come a few seconds later.
This gives you ~24 seconds of at least triple damage. After the buffs end, you may need to soak a green puddle on the ground in order to do it again. If you don't do this, you will need to relog, otherwise you will no longer gain any buffs.

thanks, i appreciate the detail
any rogue with experience going into tbc anniversary
i need help with figuring out needed addons and weak aura to use for tbc
Rogues gain around 6-9k DPS. Casters generally gain way more off theirs.
That’s a shame, melee just living in a ranged dps world
could anyone put me in contact with a mod from the classic rogue discord. Trying to get unbanned. I got perma'd 6 years ago for saying the f slur during a moment of gamer rage

The classic rogue discord seems to be a little quiet. I was looking to see if anyone could possibly do a log review for my guild mate. He's a sub rogue and giving inconsistent results as we are raiding ToT. If anyone would be able to do so, I would greatly appreciate it.
This will be even more inactive, Classic Rogue is more or less where everything is for MoP with a bit still in SimonizeShow; his is more for Vanilla/TBC/WotLK/CNTitan servers.
I usually circle around to any log reviews that sit for some time, but I've been out of town this week so haven't been able to.
Well if you come across it and have time, would greatly appreciate it. Not expecting any crazy breakdowns, just if anyone can point out any glaring issues.
im playing classic tbc what pvp weapons should I get for prepatch
im in a combat build with sword spec
but dunno if a different talent build + weapon setup would be much better rn
Hey guys - Do rogues just suck in classic PVE? I've never played TBC but I mained my rogue for all of original classic
I still am planning to play just for the PVP dominance, but should I not expect a raid slot?
For general leveling you'll want the slow sword in MH and faster sword in OH. For pvp things can vary a bit and some personal preference exists, but still generally you'll want a slow non-dagger MH for Hemo builds.
Not so much that the class sucks, we're just not stackable in a raid comp, so there will be more people looking for raid spots than what exists.
Most raids will have exact 1 for applying Expose Armor and as a Glaives soak (along with possibly 1 fury warrior). Very few will take more than that.
Hello guys. Should i buy rank 14 sword 2.8 or 1.8 attackspeed or daggers for pvp ?
For leveling, one slow sword for MH and one fast sword for OH. Daggers are purely a pvp pickup, and unless you're playing Mutilate it'd only be in the MH; your OH you'd still prefer the faster sword.
If your question is for Era specifically and not TBC, then whatever your preferred spec is. I don't have numbers for what would be better in that capacity
Ok im asking for tbc prepatch pvp with shadowstep build. And ofc i will use when tbc Starts rank 14 weapons unless i get something better
I bought now slow sword and fast sword. Thx mate
FARM lvl 70 TBC EPICS IN PREPATCH https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rdu2-qYDIkY
Is Alcor's Sunrazor a viable option for an assassination rogue for pvp in TBC?
You want a slow heavy hitting dagger for ambushes and then an OH weapon with stats for damage
If you mean at 70 then... no
figured but thought I'd ask
What professions do I chose for TBC endgame pvp? I read about Engineering for the goggles or jewelcrafting for the ring. I think I wont grind for both crafting professions, so which one is more worth or is sth else better?
I wanna get into wow tbc anniversary classic too and originally wanted to make a forsaken rogue but the server is alliance locked now because there are too many horde player appearantly. So I wanted to make a night elf rogue instead perhaps. In retail night elf rogue is pretty meta but what rogue is meta in tbc anniversary classic? Is night elf any good?
There are always windows where horde is open
.
Is open atm
If you have the window just create one with a random name. If you created 1 char your account is "horde" and you can create as much as you want without a window
But yea so is night elf rogue a good race class combo or is there a better combo on the Alliance side?
Purely for PvP Human is the dominant choice. UD on horde if you choose that.
Do you have any UI / WA recommendations youre using, or did yall create your own? 🙂

sword hemo or backstab/abush spec for tbc anniversary realm pvp?
In prepatch, either.
At 70, dagger builds are dead
swords less gimmicky?
also better for questing once portal opens
What is the setup for combat rogue build duel wield swords to crit big dmg? I got r14 weps and blue PvP gear and I’m doing fuck all damage I know I’m fucking yo the rotation what’s my setup out is stealth to hit big on open?
I’m getting shit on in battle grounds
Wait what? I just played with a rogue with shadow step ambush build with one main dagger and he was damn near oneshotting off stealth open. Is that build shit for end game tbc?
Resiliance kills it because it's reliant on crit
So what’s the top spec for us in tbc end game?
If I go dagger/shadowstep/ambush rn is it just a waste of time?
It’s combat with warglaives presumably
You play combat swords/mace/fist
dagger rogue sucks in TBC for pve in all cases
I went sub build last night with one dagger one sword and the shadow step ambush is so fun
Fucking sucks that’s gonna be dead
does anyone have any info on a great rogue source for ex; simonize
for tbc rogue info
or a good streamer rec
Looking for same
Hi, does anyone know which LW specialization is best for rogues in TBC Classic?
According to my previous knowledge there is no such thing as bisgear in LW for rogues.
Pick whatever I would say, if you want to minmax I think BS is way more important paired up with engineering or enchanting.
Engineering jewelcrafting is bis in wotlk, maybe you can work up there already.
any idea which of them is the most profitable? I already skilled to 205 😄
Hmm can't tell you i'm sorry.
I think the most crafted will be leg enchants and the mount trinket.. doesn't require a specialisation in my opinion.
oh sry i meant the LW specs
Yes, I don't think for the mount trinket or leg enchants you need a specialisation.
wait, thats leatherworking? xD
Yea
Is it better to get the pvp blue gear over a couple of bits of the purple gear if you're freshly leveled in prep for tbc? I have swords and shoulders so far..
Why does dagger ambush suck in tbc?
afaik simonize's discord is prepped for TBC already he was the premier wowhead writer last time and his resources are still there
It is just simply worse in all aspects of damage in pve, I cannot say for certain in pvp but to my knowledge it is still worse
Btw, we miss a guy to do spam of dung on Friday morning. if some1 want to do it, we're hunter, pala, lock and warr. Can be any. We can rotate to have any rol soo... All of us are in r14 gear. (950+ gs) :v
for tbc leveling what poison set up is best for combat
double insta or 1 isnta 1 deadly
do you guys take riposte for dungeon leveling?
Deadly is only useful if it can stack to 5 and tick for a while. That usually requires like a minute+, so no do not use deadly for leveling.
Double IP for damage, if you need the slow or are concerned about PvP swap one for Crippling
Riposte only useful if you will parry, so in dungeons it's useless
i went lvl 58 boost on rogue as i played that in 2005 - how fucked up am i?
It's because of their speed. Slower weapons benefit more from AP. The weapon damage you see there is calculated minDamage + (AP/14 * weaponSpeed) so for the sabre it's 35 + ( 33 * 2.7) = 125 and for sword of omens it's 35 + (33 * 1.9) = 102
thank you so much! that is really good to know as a new player!
fun spot in classic tbc
Before getting Veteran's Musket what is the better ranged weapon? Mama's Insurance or Mark V's Throwing Star?
In tbc to get wf procs do I take off poison in man hand?
Yes
You probably want the hit option which I believe is the Throwing Stars
Thank you
Thank you, also is there a good weakaura everyone is using. My luxothos one keeps breaking
Yes. Sorry. My rogue one keeps crashing.
If you ask me later in the day I can send what I have been using, I frankensteined this WA to work in every version of classic that has come out since TBC lmao
But what I'll send over is what I am currently using in TBC
Oh awesome. Thanks man!
how much hit do i need in tbc as a 70 rogue for pve? I see a wowhead guide that says 9% for abilities and then much more for white hits.. is this right? what is the optimal number for a pve dungeon/raid combat rogue tbc -- thanks!
So the rogue talent precision gives you 5% of the 9% stated for "yellow" attacks (abilities), you're an undead so you'll never have heroic presence for the 1% if you have a boomy in your raid you get 3% hit from their improved faerie fire.
In the absolute worse situation (having no boomkin) you need 61 hit rating
With a boomkin's faerie fire on your target you need 16 hit rating
This all being said hit is generally your better stat over crit as more autos are better for hack and slash/combat potency procs
TLDR: you want 61+ hit rating for all content in pve and a bit less for pvp if you care
I'm gonna copy paste the messages Simonize has posted in his discord on the topic as he is the defacto authority on the first 2-3 expansions as rogue, I highly recommend checking out his content and community for anything rogue related in Era, TBC, wotlk or SoD
Hit Chance and Hit Rating
Bonus chance to hit is a valuable stat for rogues in Burning Crusade. You can gain percentage bonus chance to hit from the Precision talent (5%), from Improved Faerie Fire (3%) debuff from Balance Druids, and from Heroic Presence aura (1%) from a Draenei warrior, paladin, or hunter. The majority of your bonus hit chance will come from hit rating found on gear, gems, or food buffs. Hit rating converts into hit percentage with 15.77 hit rating giving 1% increased chance to hit.
Your total bonus hit chance combines Precision, Improved Faerie Fire, Heroic Presence, and all hit chance gained from hit rating. The maximum total bonus hit chance your character can benefit from depends on the level of the enemy you are attacking. This is called a "hit cap".
Level 73/Boss: 28%
Level 72: 25%
Level 71: 24.5%
Level 70: 24%
Since most of your bonus hit chance comes from hit rating, players often think of their hit cap in terms of a hit rating cap rather than these percentages. This is where it gets a little tricky though - because a player expecting Improved Faerie Fire on a boss will need less hit rating to reach their hit cap than a player who does not have Improved Faerie Fire. Likewise, a player attacking a level 72 enemy will need less hit rating to reach their cap than a player attacking a boss enemy. There is no single number that is "the hit rating cap" for all players.
This chart has the maximum amount of hit rating your character can benefit from. Look at the row corresponding to the buffs you have in your raid, and then choose the column corresponding to the level of the enemy you are attacking.
Gearing and Gemming for Hit
TLDR: There is no magic number of hit rating you must reach. It is just a stat like any other that adds to your damage output.
Many players treat hit caps as something they must achieve at all times, unwilling to unequip a piece of armor if it means they will drop below their hit cap. This is a bad approach and you will miss out on DPS upgrades if you think about gearing this way! Hit rating is just a stat like any other that adds to your damage output. In most cases one item is always better because it has more stats. For example, it is always a DPS increase to equip Shadowmaster's Boots over Edgewalker Longboots, even if doing so means you will be below your hit rating cap.
There is some flexibility in rogue gearing when it comes to gems and food buffs. Gems and food buffs are the main way you should manipulate your hit rating since they offer the ability to trade agility for hit 1-for-1. If you get a new upgrade and it lowers you below your hit cap, you can re-gem other pieces of gear to compensate - replace red agility gems with orange agility / hit gems, or replace orange agility / hit gems with yellow hit gems. Likewise if you equip a new item and are pushed over your hit cap, you can put in more red agility gems in place of orange or yellow gems.
Switching your food buff is another easy way to gain or lose 20 hit rating for 20 agility that is certainly less expensive than replacing gems.
Some players are only focused on boss damage, and those players should use their gem and food buffs to get as close to the level 73 hit cap as possible without going over. Other players care about optimizing overall boss and trash damage dealt in a raid, and those players should use their gem and food buffs to get as close to the level 72 hit cap as possible.
https://www.wowhead.com/classic/quest=1053/in-the-name-of-the-light
is this an available quest for classic era + rewards in hc?
This is an alliance only quest but yes
tyvm kind sir
correct me if i am wrong, (i usually am) but in tbc you cant have windfurry and a poison active on mainhand at same time
first time wow player here - is it worth it enchanting gear during levelling? currently at lvl 53, and thinking I will use my weapons for a bit (trash blade and hanzo sword).
Hey guys! What race do you recommend for tbc rogue? Human/ud?
Im currently lvling a Rogue, is there any weps that are kinda being held on for a long time, that is worth enchanting?
At the same time, im totally new to classic and boosted a Rogue - I dont seem to find a great guide with a dng build, lvl build or pvp
is there a tbc rouge group?
im new to wow and need some tips with rouge
i just hit 70
i’d recommend checking out the classic rogue discord
pinned in this channel
done
Which sword combination do i use now?
hello, what is better as off hand combat rogue rank 14 quickblade or revenger?
I'm a level orc 34 Rogue, during Anniversary I sold every piece of gear I owned and mailed my gold away. If I wanted to start leveling this rogue again, what would be the best BoE, easy gear pick ups, I could do to get back on track?
Revenger but try to get Latros out of BM
Easiest is boost tbh
Otherwise just anything with AP or Agi + stam. If you have a carry available, do the SM and RFD quests for some great swords.
Is dps better then stats like ap ?
Latros dont wanna drop. 17 runs and no trinket/ latros
Both matter, but also speed. R14 is a good bit slower which is worse for Combat Potency
Are backstab builds viable ?
Nope
Mutilate is still worse than Combat but better than Backstab
Ok
Hello everyone!, thank you for checking out this in depth Mana Tombs solo walkthrough. My hope was to add small details I didn't see mentioned or gone over in other videos.
Truly the point of the runs are to have fun and make money stress free! I hope you enjoyed, please leave a comment if you'd like to see any other rogue gold making guides.
...
What do you guys think about the "Shiv" using thats going around instead of sinister strike?
is there a more classic dedicated Rogue DC available too btw?
it uses less energy so it allows for more combo points to rotate, damage is similar. shiv your heart out
Has anyone tried it, I saw a video about it earlier today but haven't attempted yet
hi classic folks
serious question
what do you think about retail rogues
i see on tiktok everybody saying retail is 10x easier than classic
so ive been using vindicators and latros, but yday i got both fools bane and malchazeen from kara. what weapons do i use now for pve?
Hello, why some enemys see me when i lockpicking? Does it scale with hit or spell hit or stealth lvl ?
Retails mechanics make the entire game more forgiving but you'd fine me hard-pressed to agree that Outlaw PVE in TWW was easier than Combat PVE in Classic.
Question if Any1 knows. Do i macro Abacus trinket or Bloodlust Brooch with Adrenaline Rush? Im thinking Abacus until i can get DST.
Generally you want to stack haste and attack speed effects as they're multiplicative with each other; I'd stack Flurry+Abacus+Haste pot together
is there any good weak aura packs that work for tbc classic?
we got a mage classic discord link anywhere?
<@&224906552333697025> the bot posted in just this channel
!ban @wind bronze bot
ty
TBC rogues, has anyone done/got a comprehensive guide of shiv vs SS? I'm trying to work out if there's a definitive answer for which is better.
Top rogue parses rn, first two barely use shiv and third uses shiv off CD, and they seem comparable?
I use shiv at least because I feel like I can fit more 5 combo abilities in
anyone got good pve build and pvp 🙂
anniversary tbc
The difference between the two is less than natural DPS variance. Do what you want for this phase.
Sinister pulls ahead in full bis and especially next phases
What causes the pull ahead? Slower OH or just better MH damage?
Armor pen with warp spring coil
Your OH doesn't change speed unless you go with a glad weapon or dragon encrusted longblade in SWP
Building off of that, Instant Poison scales with nothing so that's a large portion of Shiv that will never deal more damage
Cheers for the info folks!
best build to dungeon on tbc with daggers?
daggers suck and you should not use them BUT you can have a link
https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/talent-calc/rogue/00531312-024305200055010002321051-05
huge ty man
Whats your guess for max GPH with Stealth runs as Miner/Engineer? ATM i´m doing Steamvault but wondering if there is something better
Same here
During leveling is it worth using Fist weapons as a non-Human combat rogue?
TBC that is
is it worth using 2 set wastewalker + 2 set nether > 4 set nether?
Hey I'm trying to figure out a way to open with Ambush and swap to a Sword as soon as I'm out of stealth is there a macro you guys have or an extra addon maybe? I used Outfitter or it in the pass and it worket smoothly but I cant find a way to make it work now.
You can use two macros
#showtooltip Ambush
/equipslot 16 name of the dagger
/cast ambush
And after your opener add to your abilities you most likely use after opener this macro
#showtooltip sinister strike
/equipslot 16 name of the sword
/cast sinister strike
/startattack
Is there a backstab build in TBC? Or is that only a SoD thing?
Yeah the #showtooltip Ambush
/equipslot 16 name of the dagger
/cast ambush didn't really work somehow and I ended up using a stealth macro that equips the dagger, is clunky but well is working.
Otherwise you probably will need an addon for it but dont ask me which one i always use this options with kind of 8 different weapons with different poison and so on
yeah I'm also adding /cast Pick Pocket to the macro so it complicates things
but hey I want my gatcha boxes
Is there a reason why I don't see many highly rated rogues using BlinkStrike? Is it only good for PvE? Should the play be to get Spiteblade instead, and then Gladiators Slicer once I hit 1700?
Is this channel for TBC or MOP?
Yes
It's expensive and not really that much better than a Vindicator's for PvP. The lack of any stats is a bit painful and the proc will rarely impact a kill
So I have it already, for PvE. So it's more about, should I swap it for Spiteblade? I see a lot of streamers using it. Is it for stats? Or is it pureply because it's "more obtainable"
In PvP yeah I'd for sure use Spiteblade over Blink. Same thing, the stats will just more consistently help you instead of the proc
Gotcha, ty
If i am making a new cahracter what is the best way to lvl to cap ? I already have a max lvl character I just wanna lvl another one > Thanks!
hey im looking for a guild for tbc
Just boosted a rogue on TBC what should be my main priority? New gear? Honor? And what's the best way to approach that. I'm not a new player just a dad tired of rerolling at 35 so I figured a boost might help me commit to a toon lol
new gear
hello, what better, elemental leatherworking or tribal for rogue? in tbc classic?
anyone here doing steamvaults chest farms?
For MoP classic sub spec, trying to figure out if nightstalker or shadow focus is better. Does SF take effect during shadow dance? I've found contradictory info googling. Some posts say it does, some say it does not. Does anyone know for sure? The tooltip for Ambush shows a cost of 60 energy in normal stealth (15 with shadow focus). But in shadow dance, ambush shows a cost of 40 energy regardless of whether or not i have shadow focus talented.
None of the first row apply to ShD in MoP. You're getting conflicting info because future expansions those same named talents do affect ShD (even in retail I think both still exist in some form)
Right now Shadow Focus is the preferred option as it makes your opener a lot cleaner going into the first ShD. That's more or less it; Subterfuge should be very close in value right now too. Nightstalker is almost exclusively just for the movement speed.
the 50% extra damage from stealth isn't as big a deal as it sounds?
Not really. Generally speaking your "from stealth" actions are weak because they're activating FW. Buffing that single ability doesn't mean much, you'd rather have one of the other two to cast more abilities into the FW
Can't wait for all of these "Classic" expansions to end and Blizzard actually releasing something new.
It's splitting the community too much. Literally makes me not wanna play at all. 😅
At least we got lots of changes (good or bad) in Retail, so it makes it a bit different than usual.
Can anyone help me understand what will be bis for rogues in arena for p2 of TBC in 2's. I'm a human rogue and play with a frost mage and sometimes a disc priest, my questions are really about the new engi goggles and how good they actually are. The confusion comes in because i see alot of the r1 players dont seem to use the p1 goggles right now and im assuming its becasue they're playing with healers (Could be completely wrong)? First time playing tbc so the professions being integral into arena has throw me for a loop. I have engi and bs for pve, but since most of tbc is just raid logging im trying to focus more on PvP with the upcoming season being around the corner. Any input is appreciated <3.
Am contemplating dropping bs or engi for jc since the panther trinket seems like its mandatory but
anyone know where to get rested xp for free?
Hey guys, rogue junkie here, played og vanilla to cata and now started mop classic after all this time. Im playing subtlety rn but im confused with the glyphs in mop classic, any thoughts?
Engi and JC is BIS for PVP
Can someone help me with some mop questions plz ? As a sin rogue why do some guides talk about opening up with garrote and others are talking about using mutilate?
didnt play for a long time, might have changed
early understanding was to not garrote since you ruptured early enough for venomous wounds to trigger, so garroting was a loss
later it was found that a specific sequence made garrote pull ahead slightly, making it worth to delay the rupture a little bit
Hey Guys, I am looking for a reliable macro that automatically saps (stealthed) targets, without having to target them first. I use #showtooltip Sap
/cleartarget
/targetenemyplayer
/cast Sap
But it always seem i have to target the enemy manually first
Anyone have a working macro for me?
is there a method to start Maulgar with 5 combopoints to insta Expose for max dps/speed?
Your macro is using targetenemyplayer which only targets literal other players. It sounds like you want something for all mobs, which would just be targetenemy
Before raid starts you fight him yourself with Cloak/Evasion and get 5 combo points
Anyone stealth farm mana tombs? If so, what do I do about the Singe dot? Seems like cloak doesnt work for it.. and I just die everytime I get it
is better for assasination rogue gems to be +160 agi or should I match the socket bonus?
I'm looking for insight on a TBC classic build. I'm level 42 and focusing on daggers because I like them. I'm questing as ambush/hemo, which I like, but it doesnt seem to be very functional in dungeons. I'm enamored by the 30% crit on backstab talent, and want to build around big backstabs in group. What talents will support this at my level before I have access to mutilate? This is for my talent swap.
Malice, Puncturing Wounds, Lethality, Opportunity. But grabbing Opp would delay getting Mutilate by 5 levels, which would be somewhat unreasonable - it'd be easier to just swap to full Assa and then get Opportunity in the 50s once you have Mutilate.
Hi, is [Merciless Gladiator's Quickblade] gated behind personal/arena team rating?
Yes
anyone getting the steamvaullt chest runs done?
mine are very few chessts and if they are theyre in different positions than in the videos
In TBC P2, am I better off buying the blue rep pvp gear for arena or just use my p1 bis stuff with whatever I get from TK/SSC?
vendor + drops
rep vendor
You absolutely, 100% need the gloves for their bonus to Deadly Throw. From there you'll generally want the arena 4set for the bonus energy. Everything else can be whatever
Thanks. Any top rogue streamers/youtubers also to watch how they play pve?

Some minor ground rules:
- No blind Classic/Vanilla bashing. It's fine if you have criticisms, but please bring something valid to the discussion or ignore the channel entirely.
- Rules are similar to other Misc channels.
- Remember that everything in classic is largely a mystery at this point and extremely subject to change. As such, no, we don't know what rogue will be like yet!
Once the demo is live, you’ll be able to play until 10am PST on November 8, giving BlizzCon attendees a chance to check it out again once they get back home.```
Has there been recent news about the release of classic that prompted the making of this channel? Or have you been planning to make a channel for a while now?

Gotcha
Liryn slid in there

Can't believe I made this channel and rare didn't even get the first post
🤣
confirm... I have no shame
I'd delete mine but there are more than a few after
yeah I won't be doing BfA content for those days
I would be omega surprised if it weren't Dun'morogh dwarf starting point or Elwynn for alliance
and durotar for horde
Players will have a chance to explore and enjoy a limited questing experience through a pair of classic early-level zones—one Horde and one Alliance—and experience firsthand our recreation of the original Azeroth.
So I mean maybe it won't be the starter zone but
again, I'd be surprised
if u got classic negativity go to #off-topic
lol
there is a difference
between criticism, which is part of discussion, and shitting on it
shitting on it won't be tolerated if ppl are incessant about it
we are hyped rn Don
inb4 it's MC
I will be hyped when I see/hear that it isn't shit 😄
I don't get hyped in advance over WoW stuff anymore
burnt too many times
I still ride my MC anniversary mount thingy
im trying to think of some low level event we could do
oooh what if we could all get that defias mask, that thing looks awesome
Roleplay
you two should date

monkaS
LOL

tbf a roleplay event would be pretty awesome
but I don't know if people would be in for it
if we could get the red defias mask it would be great
or just infiltrate the goldshire inn using 'stealth'
i'm imagining it's durotar/elywn forrest
can't wait to level up my unarmed skill to 400
oh shit, true
Hogger time
Hogger time :HYPERS:
Hogger time :HYPERS:
Hogger time :HYPERS:
Hogger time :HYPERS:
I'd be surprised if you couldn't duel at least
1v1 me
outside org
not dead
I’ve backstabbed your precious classic with the one attack it can’t handle
More than 6 people online at once
It’s servers have already fused into a single block of silicon
yooo
we can make twinks Lol
can't wait to see some level 9 rogue in full greens
people will no life this demo
*streamers
i seriously hope we get to select a server like classic
Can't wait to go back to combat daggers with level 40 gloves and 11 apm ;)
@cyan steppe dont appreciate toxicity about classic in here bud
#off-topic for that
It wasn't ^^
what level 40 gloves?
+dagger skill from diremaul
oh right, gloves were from mc?
ye core hound gloves
there were a belt and gloves
Barman's
Tier 2 was the best rogue set ever. Prove me wrong
they said its 1.12 so normalization is in effect
so beautiful
1.12, did we still have 2s energy ticks then? I can't recall when that changed
haha yah
And looked like level 20 greens
Oh, 1.12 was the rogue remake patch
yeah
lmao
Is 15/31/5 combat daggers going to be viable boys?
1.12 I'm pretty sure was the patch rogues were really really strong
@fair carbon yah its viable, but swords on humans is better
Hmmm
rogue was 1.11 IIRC
I actually loved old Transcendence
Rogues Edit
Due to significant talent changes, Rogues will have all talent points refunded and can be re-spent. Training costs for all talent spell replacements have been significantly reduced.
the warrior one is awful
pally one was better old as well
Transcendence: Literal Bananaman
Gosh reading about all these fixes for rogues, I remember so much stupid stuff that was going on
yeah, I prefer the old one
Liryn you think u will main rogue for classic?
like every ability knocking us out of stealth, vanish removing combo points, gauge breaking on poison procs
i love playing warrior in pve, but rogue is my top pick in pvp
I played hunter a little bit in MC
it will be funny, combo points get reset when you switch targets
Ooooh boy Vanish CP removal
so many rogues wont be able to handle that
because we needed hunters
lol
Oh my god I forgot CP was target specific
yee
yeah people will be very spoiled by things we take granted now
Right!
it will be nice to have to earn epics again
poisons being removed when you enter raid
purple will mean something
and all respawns are outside raid
Time to rack up that CP on all targets for the OMEGACLEAVE
poisons being removed by anything
i like applying my poisons
u gotta level up lockpicking in all those weird spots
all over the world
leveling up lockpicking and pickpocketing
Farming lockpicking in the Ratchet boat btw
1.12 introduced pickpocket mobs in combat, so it's a lot easier :p
But tbh, I think progressing guilds will pretty much skip mc
nooooooooooooo skipping MC
Skip the best raid?
I will babyrage
thats where u get thunderfury
The best raid that they threw together in a week?
spending 12 hours in one day in MC was iconic
all the spells/talents are 1.12, the content and items is patch progressive
oh
I mean what?
👀
they literally said they modeling after private servers
naughty
if blizz devs can talk about private servers, we can
rare, is it strictly nothing after 1.12 in systems and changes that will be in effect?
its not confirmed Rosvall so we gotta see
ah alright
but they said they looked at the private server model of 1.12 starting with patch progressive content
Because there's... a lot of bugs
I wonder if they'll end up pulling an OSRS and have community driven updates
pretty sure they gonna mimic most of the way the pservers do it
Remember all the map bugs?
they wont have bugs obviously
all the bugs will be fixed like on pservers im sure of it
dungeon maps u download atlas loot ez
Well some things are bugs and other fixes I guess. I remember tanks not having enchants because that caused HoT's to fall off due to max buff limits
haha yah that will be interesting actually
lmao
the debuff limits started at 8
Since enchants were just hidden buffs
Quick! Everyone spam all of your shit on THAT GUY
Those are the new talents though, I think
Yeah they are
Deadliness came later
And there's no improved distract or throwing weapons
I'm curious to see
what they change/fix/etc
from live back in the day
if they try to make all specs viable
etc
I think they will make people unhappy either way
"my spec was brokenly good and now it's not" vs. "classic needs to be exactly how it was back then"
1.12.2 patch note
Fixed an issue where players were unable to resurrect at a Spirit Healer. (Spanish Only)
lol
whats the best pvp spec
The popular specs back then, I'm very unsure if they were actually so good
Like you put a lot of faith into cold blood, which isn't really that amazing
@loud abyss not sure if trolling
Ooooh
How long has this been a thread...
Cause discord was just like "messages since December 31 2014"
Less than an hour lol
Nice job discord haha
dead channel
😡
yeah, we really won't know about anything with class balancing (if that will be a thing) for a while now.
can't change classes, won't be classic then
I was being sarcastic when I said it
good
sarcastic or
no
Staats said MC became a thing because they were challenged to "sneak" it in
and it shows
lol
me re: classic
Can’t be worse than heroic Uldir EU raid
I just want to blink through the world every other cast.
Make it happen blizzard.
Although, anyone remember world of roguecraft?
roguecraft man
A showcase video of how strong rogues were because their abilities didn’t scale off gear as much.
Kinda cringe now though. Would stomp people in starter gear.
The problem I have with classic is I want to play many classes, but I don’t have time like I used to.
Before normalization was a thing, you could make a macro to swap weapons -> ambush. And ambush with swords for close to full bar of hp damage
lol
Oh.. I had almost forgot all the mid combat weapon swapping we'll have to do again
lol
will be cool to play classic as an XP player, I had no fucking idea what I'm doing until like ICC
Woops that was not a good site to link
I kind of liked being able to swap weapons and it affect your gameplay
But f.ex for sword builds, swapping to daggers for more poison procs during pooling and timing it with autoswings
Well will be fun to try this out again
Never played on any private servers, so all I have to go on is nostalgia
getting fire resi gear <_ >
spending one hour in blackrock dungeon <_ >
I think I still know how to do the talent tree
Ohhhh yeah I forgot about mind controlling a mob for fire shield. Then logging out to preserve timer 😂
left all way down
middle to dual wield somethingsomething
right a few points for some stealth stuff
lol
I doubt resistance gear will be needed nowadays. Just potions and better coordination/better healers
idk it's kinda the opposite tbh
you can be experienced in the modern game
but going back to classic/TBC is a different game
even logging in to a wotlk private server was a very jarring experience for me, recently
so much we take for granted now
so, whos going to play a hunter XD?
if I have time I want to play around with hunter
because I played it a bit for MC prog
but I'm focusing on rogue
everyone going to play OP classes
hunter was most broken on vanilla iirc
inb4 ammo pouches/quivers
I wanna play rogue mage and warrior. But I know I won’t have enough time for that lol
You still need resistance gear for like Visc in AQ40, and Sapphiron in naxx, if you don't on those fights you will die, everything else you pretty much can get around with enough potions
Well for both those there were level appropriate craftables (well AQ was mid tier)
Princess Huhu is impossible without hella nature resist
Classic
. . .
@stray whale no trollerino bro
What I’m planning on checking so far: glancing blow damage increase from wep skill, hit gain from wep skill (only for +5 tho), mob spreading, mob leashing, mob aggro ranges and how they vary by npc type (wolves should have higher aggro range than anything else), mob pathing around objects/fences, caster AI especially when it comes to LoS, spell batching, mob pooling/respawns, herb/mining respawns and placement, chest loot tables, rage gain from sit crits, individual shit for every npc and quest available
and vanish disjointing missile spells.
arcane missilies ?

Mmm, the level restriction hampers this testing yeah.
But yeah the fucking leashing/aggro radius was a big Vanilla thing.
Infuriating really.
we can test a lot of core game mecanics that will be very important to see how they implemented them
yah you had to actually look where u were going and plan routes.
tough times.
Yeah I am curious if they made the game going back to Vanilla from Modern, or the other way around.
the wrote about in the watercooler about classic
they couldnt use the old client, so its a modern one
Group finder here we go!!!
@quick garden #off-topic
Yeah, lots of issues trying to convert that nonsense into something that works with the new DB formatting.
and the 1928376981273 QoL changes.
and the social backend
and the blahblahblahblahblah.
apparently they had the old client functional but it had so many issues with modern graphics cards and the DB it was deemed unrealistic to use it
crashing a lot on modern gfx cards
Yeah I can see that happening.
Those DBs are intensely out-of-date and impractical.
i bet you would like this
its surprisingly technical
nope
For more information and to get your Virtual Ticket, visit BlizzCon.com. Like Blizzard on Facebook: facebook.com/Blizzard/ Like Blizzard on Instagram: instag...
Yeah I remember this watercooler, talked about item/spell formatting.
efficiencies/etc.
I liked it in the past where you just did what you wanted and followed the cookie-cutter spec.
tbh
the demo is just meant to be an ultra-teaser
I wouldn't judge anything off it
A lot will change
between whatever this demo is
and the final, I suspect
Yeah but at the same time, I am sure that there will be a conversation about the demo on the floor.
So there is time/place to talk about their intentions.
Can't be let down yet Dad.
I'm just cautioning y'all against too much hype is all
@valid cape The mechanics are easy, but the tuning, gearing, etc wasn't

Yeah the gearing and strat. DEV was the issue in Vanilla.
Actually consumables could be brutal as well.
@valid cape It sounds like you're not the target audience of this
farming consums takes a lot of time for high end raiders, but theres ways around it
thats just wrong
That's patently untrue
You...
In classic it was my job to buff people on rotation
yes
ive played private servers for the past 4 years now
stop spreading misinformation or you wont be welcome here
Dianabol you've already got a reputation for causing trouble on RH. It won't be tolerated here
Can't just look at them.

at least you actually get something out of virtual tickets haha

@autumn tiger I'll play demo with you 😃
😄
Back to healing O _O
help me think of some rogue event we could do
i cant think of anything except RP related heh
I ain't playing rogue, fotm 😠
👀
@autumn tiger Fishing derby
@autumn tiger wpvp
camp flightmasters
Gank all gnomes
Get into Hyjal
old stealth time
somehow get into that area near PL that we cant access even on live
LOVE THOSE~!
@autumn tiger you're putting so much into this, I love it!
im just gonna pocket heal someone while leveling
wtf was blinds cooldown back then?
Best bit about vanilla blind was needing blinding powder
And it was pretty pricey
You needed some herb to make it
was blind a poison?
Blind required Blinding Powder which came from a fucking triangle looking herb.
or was that for Vanish... whatever.
P _ P
I think classic should have titanforging.
and LFR
No. God plz no.
why? it will help new players to get into the game and experience all its content
and thanks for titanforging farming even low level dungeons for resist gear will make the runs meaningful as you'll always be able to getan upgrade
hopefully classic server have their own battle.net
what would be the point of classic server "having their own battle.net"?
What would it even entail?
do you mean completely restricted to true vanilla social options?
as in... no battle.net
i can almost guarantee this 'classic wow' wont just be like vanilla
can you guarantee it
yeah my uncle works for blizzard
but i did say almost gaurentee
I want some tee now.
tee dream
It wouldn't make sense for it to be exactly like vanilla. It would actually be pretty surprising if they didn't let you chat with your bnet friends from within the chat. Lots of tough decisions about systems like the integrated bnet chat to consider.
Personally I hope they're laying the groundwork for people to "graduate" characters between expansions. There's a lot of tough decisions to be made for how to enhance/maximize the potential without significantly altering the core experience.
They will have to think of replayability aswell do they end up rereleasing the entire game again once naxx is on farm or do they do an old school runescape and take a different direction
I hope it’s actually like the osrs worked out really cool in a lot of ways (some not) but time will only tell, very hard to speculate rn
I think how they handle advancement/patch and expansion progression could really dictate whether it is a passing novelty or a lasting addition to their library.
It would be neat for people that missed vanilla to be able to play a character from vanilla to live.
Wonder if AH will be implemented the same as back then
Because it will be neigh impossible to purchase anything using the old interface when you can only sort by stack price (not per item) to get past the 1 stacks when you need to buy a ton of cloths
I wonder if people will go begging/digging for classic versions of addons
or if those old publishes will even work with classic
Also
I wonder if somebody will resurrect thottbot
man I should do that rn
I'd make tens of dollars!
It’s kind of weird to have the game just “end” though. The real money would be in progression style servers. Release vanilla, then BC, then wrath, then start the cycle over and pretend wrath was the end of the game.
I guess the question would then be how do they decode when to move over, and what happens to people who still want the old experience
Would be a solution to run servers for each xpac
then have a character-copy feature
so you can move "up" xpacs when you want but doesnt hurt the old ones
IT'S HAPPENING!!!!!!!!! pickpocket time boiz
progression servers would be nice but im not sure they will do that
I demand you stop complaining
I want to complain about your demands
blizzard should just put a huge ragnaros model in the middle of stormwind selling epic pvp gear for tokens
and a few custom npcs teleporting you everywhere
Tokens is prob one of the hardest decision they have to make
Because if they allow tokens for classic gold people will be pissed, but if they dont they get back to the problem of gold farmers
and people will just buy it from sketchy sites
Anti botting measures will be significantly stronger this time
@worn maple they wont allow old addon api for sure
even if having bots supported by default api all over the place was part of the vanilla experience 😢
BUT WHAT IF THOTTBOT
but Thotbot instead
and includes Thotbot-chan, your Classic WoW quest assistant
ye we should totally write a addon that replaces every word in quest text with THOT. Def. sounds like a a good idea
yah the old addon API is very easily 'exploitable'
you can basically write full LUA scripts in macros which allows you to automate most of the class's rotations
theres classic versions of addons we all use and an active community developing them
here's an example: https://shagu.org/pfUI/ its under active development
here's an archived copy of about 500 addons from back in the day: https://github.com/ericraio/vanilla-wow-addons
theres a good addon for the auction house called aux most use
my addons folder currently for private servers
oh I remember
full on
rotation macros
haha
man aside from that
I had most of those addons
at one point or other
it's gonna be hard to have classic without addons
yah for sure some things u need
really interested to see what they do with it
Remember needing to read ur quests cause there was no marker on ur map lol.....that's gonna wreck people
what was the old quest addon
monkeyquest
it actually looks better than retail lol
I used some add-on that gave an arrow
Forgot what it was called
But that was in TBC/wotlk
TomTom. Still around. Drives me crazy tho
was there arena in vanilla?
Nope
in vanilla there were only 2 races, orcs and humans. and 1 class. things were pretty lame back then.
undead was pretty broken against alliance warlocks, not that rogues needed the fear break
Classic wow is the only xpac I havent played and I’m really looking forward to the grittiness of it
Xpac lol
I sound like an idiot
Arena was mid TBC
I think during t5
And they kept needing and buffing classes trying to balance arena
and breaking then in pve
It was incredibly infuriating
yep
what kind of balancing that screwed pve?
