#classic-discussion

Sure but I think the current community perception will make rogues slots in raids limited since hunters and warlocks are just easier to use
yeah if you're in a hardcore min/maxing guild, maybe
for the vast majority of people the raid compositions will look completely different
well
the GREAT thing with TBC is the balance
that requires all classes on most of the content
so I can already see all these vanity players that will reroll warlock
unable to find a guild
and get stuff
heh
yeah I'm sticking with my warrior for that reason... everyone's gonna reroll and that means free gear for me
But just like in classic, it really depends on the environment you play in. You don't have to strictly follow the meta to clear all the content in TBC. in fact it's easier to not follow the meta and clear in tbc than it is in classic because more specs are viable
like we cleared MC with a goddamn shaman main tank
people are only limited by their imaginations
I agree that it will be different than it was in the original TBC but the general balancing won't change much. before BT rogues wont be abtle to keep up with locks and hunters on same skill and gear level.
I do not think they will be complete trash and I'm pretty sure you always have 1-2 rogues in your lineup but you definitely won't stack melees. not just less than in classic but you just won't at all, you don't need them.
for casual guilds it won't matter much but they probably will balance it out too if they see fit.
I expect way less melees in TBC than today and probably rightly so.
rogues will still be around, be it only for those damn nice arena comps
I wont reroll my rogue, I get my spot 100%, I'm not worried about that at all.
we'll see about that. I think they rather thin out melees for healers than ranged 😄
@desert hazel did you play TBC cause rogues were very strong if not the best
I did play tbc, as a rogue. Rogues were amazing in arena, they were lackluster before glaives in PvE
but always open to be proven wrong if you have anything at hand 🙂
Myself and the others rogues in my guild never got glaives and were always on top..and my guild did all content
Then they weren't that good, but success is all that matters :3
good for you, you found a good spot!
Yeah let’s go with that @plucky nymph
i am pretty sure things will change in a new TBC, if it happens but I'm also pretty sure in terms of DPS melee won't hold up to the top ranged
I don't see us harrassing hunters and locks for top spots
and many melees will have to reroll if they want a safe spot in their raids
lol
A lot of melee now are the way they are because of the power, and many of us are already rerolling or have hunters/warlocks as is >_>
yep, a typical raid will look completely different in tbc, not just because of the 25 man frame
Half the healers, fewer tanks, lots of pumpers.
i'm not worried for my spot, I have good chances to get that "one" rogue slot in the raid but we'll see
maybe I'll have to reroll after all
TBC will end my dad guild misery though 🙂 with 25 man raids, that's finally gone
Weeee shallllll seeeee.
yeah let's first wait if they in fact bring tbc and if so, how it'll be, what patch and so on.
That and gimme a free race change >:|
not thinking too much about it, if I dont like it I'm out. classic was never meant for me to become an intense thing again
what race are you?
me too and I will stay UD, like it in the arena
PvE will be secondary to me, can't imagine it any other way but you never know, blizzard does things XD
Not going to lie, I don't know how people can shit on rogue DPs in tbc.
Back in tbc, I was typically top 3 DPs easily.
That's nice, prepare to be under 4 macro spamming hunters.
Though to be fair, there's a lot of DPS lost in the macros.
So maybe not.
Not even fun hunter but BM d'uh
Ye 😐
the great news is that the hunter one button macro will not work in classic TBC
because the classic client uses the legion macro API which prevents macros like the one button one
I absolutely think that melee will be able to compete with hunters and locks for top spots, especially if you build a group around them with drums and the proper buffs
Nah those macros still work on Retail, just not the one you a thinking about, it is a much worse version though, that's for sure.
shitpost i made in 10 minutes on my way to dire maul
what a poor soul
getting mad over world buffs
well, i have a problem
i've got a warlock, rogue, and now a druid to about level 25+
and now i want to make a paladin cause i got a great idea for a name
Eh, I won’t put myself through the torture of playing a paladin
Omg no one cares
Hello fellow Rogues, I have a technical question regarding Resistance Mechanics in wow classic
Is every additional resistance point granting additional resistance ? Or is there some kind of "10 by 10 resistance steps" ? Meaning for example : 240, 241, 242, 243 ,244, 245, 246, 247, 248 ,249 all would provide the same resistance.
Asking because I have heard someone who usually knows a lot about theorycraft stating this, but I cannot find any source about this.
Thank you for any help
There are no breakpoints for resistances. Every point helps. The breakpoints myth comes from the wowwiki article which simplifies the effects of increasing resistances in a table diagram that states the average chance for a resist you have at certain numbers, and people misinterpreted this diagram to mean that you only see increasing benefits at those thresholds.
Thank you
was i supposed to come in from the top end, or the bottom end of STV for leveling?
generally the top of STV
For AQ i put my 2 points from murder into ruthlessness, and was wondering what the best option out of those two would be for naxx since all but two bosses are undead. combat daggers
keep ruth in naxx for sure
go murder for a night tho if you wanna sweaty parse spider wing
Question about seal fate and weapon skill: do you just keep C'thun dagger + corehound gloves forever to hit 308, or is yellow damage a high enough % of your thing to drop corehound gloves for more naxx pieces?
Sting and ACLG
Hey Guys, on Sunday i got Gressil from our first KT kill, i am wearing P5 BiS for Sword Rogues (Deathdealers, QEB, Gloves of Enforcement, Cthun Belt, Band of Accuria, AQ40 Reputation Ring, Prestors and so on) -
At the moment i am wearing Gressil Main and CTS Offhand - what do you think i should aim for next?
Iblis or try to get 4 parts of T3?.
Doesn't really matter just do what makes you feel prettier.
how is rogue in the current pvp meta?
So I have a potentially very stupid question (please be gentle) - If +5 weapon damage on MH for dagger is like super close with crusader because of how weapon damage influences backstab scaling, how is the ring that gives +4 weapon damage from cenarion circle rep like... not good at all?
It's not terrible it's just not better than other rings we have access to at this point in the game. If you don't have two epic rings yet it would be better than blues. Attack power effectively does the same thing as + weapon damage. There is a formula for how much attack power equals 1 weapon damage but I don't have it off the top of my head. You can log on and figure it out hover over your weapon damage on the character stats and take off a piece of gear to see how it effects it.
Is there a big race difference on classic and TBC? for rogues on alliance.
Considering going a night elf (as i like the race) but at the same time dont want to shoot myself in the foot lol
If you're intending on playing swords, human makes a big difference to get you to the 308 glance cap, if you're gonna play daggers it's not a big deal, no
f
That's not true. In tbc weapon skill was replaced with expertise, and the ability to reduce the damage penalty from glancing blows was removed. Play whatever race you want
One point of expertise decreases the chance that melee attacks made by the player will be dodged or parried by 0.25%
Still nice to Play Human
You get expertise on gear though
What poisons / weapon buffs do i use while raiding?
Instant posion on Mh then what ?
Or can u have both poisons and weapon buffs active at the same time? and if so, what weapon buffs are the best for us ?
double ip if your ally. ip oh wf mh if horde
and if you have consecrated stones as ally they go both, horde still goes wf mh stone oh
Hello fellow colleagues, what is better for a dagger rogue that has not deathsting : ACLG or T3 gloves ?
assuming the rogue has Neverending agony (and not muggler's belt).
ACLG unless youre getting 4pc bonus if you wear the gloves
would it be best to go dagger specc with perdition blade + CHT offhand or sword specc with vis'kag and either perd + CHT in offhand ? or they equal ?
Im a gnome , so human racial wont affect.
if you have aclg go daggers, viskag and cht would be fine if youd rather be swords tho
Yeah i got aclg, but i do quite enjoy swords more. Would the dmg difference gap be big or more or less equal dps?
Any way u can sim ur char in classic nowadays?
you can use spreadsheets
For those of you who like to play with theorycrafting or look at data, here is where you can find all your rogue related theorycrafting formulas, sheets and data. Formulas Spreadsheets Data
Is there a resource for naxx boss armor values?
Hello there, i would like to ask a question, about trinket swapping PvE during raid combat. i surfed around the internet some said its possible, but is it?
i've tried to do couple of times but it didn't worked for me.
the macro i tried.
/cast vanish
/equip Hand of Justice
No.
You can use Item Rack for switching trinkets after Trash Mob Groups, switching trinkits in Bossfights is not possible
Works sometimes on Nefarian between phase 1 and 2 after the breath
Works 100% of the time if you kill things fast enough to get time out of combat.
For hemo sword rogues, which ability is better between rupture and slice and dice?
in pvp? only really rupture to kite warr/pala. if you dont wanna evis for some reason you can snd
pve snd
I'm trying to make a macro that lets me alternate between gouge or blind when using a modifier button. It doesn't seem to work atm, what did I do wrong?
/cast [mod:shift][@mouseover, harm] Gouge; Gouge;[mod:ctrl][@mouseover, harm] Blind; Blind;
/stopcasting```
#showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift, @bronze patrolover] Gouge; [mod:ctrl, @bronze patrolover] Blind
/stopattack
U wrote gouge and blind 2 times and the Second ones are without a modifier
Dont know wich use „harm“ should habe
Have
@stark loom
I see. Thanks for the response
Also, is hemo spec better than the pvp dagger one for humans? Is the sword benefit worth it
nah that's irrelevant, Hemo is dope, so is dagger, it really depends on what role to fill. both have their place
Hello everyone!
I'm new at rogue. I'm running the standard swordspec while lvling up.
I have a weapon swing timer. But I am unsure when between my autoattacks I want to be using sinister strike
I heard that when the extra hit from sword spec procs my swing time resets.
Can anyone clear up or point me towards information that explains when I need to time my sinister strike
Thank you!
That seems logical. I just wanted to be sure
And this only matters for my main hand swing? My offhand swing timer doesn't matter right?
yes only matters on the main hand
yeah get used to it asap, even more if you're horde
check out Snomie on youtube, he does guides for rogues and runs a disccord Classic Roguecraft, a lot of useful information there
@marble trail Thank you!
Burrs any good?
Nutshell, these guys banned us from wcb discord and tried to threatened us.
Pro tip, never threaten our guild because we will fuck you. Just like how we fucked #1 guild on missing world first cthun kill or rather NA first kill.

Wow very cool.
Is there documentation for what build to run when leveling in a 5-man group through dungeons?
or is combat daggers essentially the best way to go?
swords or daggers is fine
Does anyone know T3 8pc proc chance? 😖
~5% per CP
!tbc
ah TBC, where things start to feel better, but things are still funky like sub
So debating starting a rogue played one a bit in tbc. Combat still the best to level and play for classic/tbc?
Yes, combat is still the way to go
Im probably just going to meme sin tbh
Does anybody here have the Pre-Raid BiS list for Rogues
I use to have it years ago playing on a private server but can't find it now
For Classic?
try to get the t0.5 set together with 2x Tribute Ring, Blackhands/HoJ or DM Trinket (Class book) - Satyr Bow and maybe Devilsaur Set
Or get carried in mc/bwl by your guild for t1/ t2
Sorry I meant for TBC, some reason that autocorrected into the
isn't pre raid hybrid fist/sword with bladefist the strongest?
not looking foward to farming that
Technically at least 1 Blinkstrike, but GL with that.
Yeah I remember blink strike and the shuriken from 1 of the zanga dungeons but can't find the full pre bis list
i'm sure content creators will have all the tbc bis lists done up in no time
there's always shadowpanther
https://shadowpanther.net/tbc/
World of Warcraft Rogue Info - Charts, Articles, Guides & more!
The bis weapons are Blacksmithing Hammer + Landro's from Black Morass OH
The TBC Pre-Raid BiS list already exists
I was using it on a private server years ago
Very true
It was an excel sheet which had Pre-Raid, Tier 4, Tier 5, Tier 6 & Sunwell lists & sims
That private servers discord got shut down so can't go back to see it
sounds like it doesn't exist then
It exists just the private sever & discord doesn't
hope ya find it
I found it thanks for the help
Do you guys thinks i'd be wise to wait for prepatch to level?
Eh, people still gonig to get boosted anyway
Level when you feel like it
Takes a long time to hit 60 anyway, might as well get a head start
Is it better to level some other class in tbc first than rogue, or can I go with rogue as my main and first class ?
Main whatever you want.
probably better to main rogue and get to 70 and secure a raid spot somewhere
if you reroll rogue alt 3-4 months into the tier its gonna be hard to find a raid spot
Anyone got any tips for leveling up a new rogue alt? is skinning knife with fiery wep worth it?>
maybe up to level 10
nah not really. if you really wanna tryhard why not just getting boosted

My +30 spellpower skinning knife takes offense to that statement
Are you comparing +30 spellpower to fiery weapon?
Do rogues have raid utility in bc?
imp ea and kick but thats all really
dont play a rogue if you care about raiding
Imagine min/max in 14 years old content

Rogues are fine for raid, not ideal to stack.
glaive rogues go brrrrr
What are the 2 best arena professions for rogue? I know you get ap from a lot
Hey. I wanted to know, should I change my hemo pvp spec to a pve combat till tbc?
I personally prefer pvp a lot more, but it seems in classic pve is way more important for gear
Pvping for gear in classic is probably one of the worst thing you could choose to do in phase 6. Just go on some BWL/mc/ AQ pugs and get tier 2, tier 2.5 or tier 1, and respec to pvp for fun
The classic pvp system is absolute dogshit. The gear isn't even good anymore unless you spend like 30+hrs a week minimum pvping to get to rank 13
And that gear is obsoleted by aq and naxx gear
Hello. Does pickpocket benefit from spell hit?
hi as a new rogue, if i plan on playing from classic till TBC is it best to go with swords or daggers?
Most people go with Swords but both is viable iirc
thanks for the answer 😄
Hello
i got to level 10, and to be honest i'm kinda lost
from what i understood Sword rogue is the way to go for classic, as far as focussing on PVE content goes
but can someone link me a good guide for it? i saw a bunch but all the talent choices conflicted one way or the other (probably guides that came out at different phases)
as side questions as a beginner are daggers that much more awful in PVE compared to sword+dagger? and is rogue gonna be the worst class in the game in TBC or it's just doomsayers
sorry for being so uninformed but i always played a hunter and switching to rogue to level with my friends in classic all the way up to TBC
Try this discord, really https://discord.gg/UdAeq5x3
And no, sword or dagger combat doesn't make much of a difference
thank you
sword or dagger rogue?
and does that get you 4pc or not
if you have 4pc already and especially if your daggers horde you want bonea over t3
If I was to comeback now to classic on my rogue, would it be possible to gear doing and for pvp only? How would I do that?
Or would I have to do atleast some pve
You could gear with only pvp but it'd be a waste if time. Classic ranking is garbage
The gear you'd get would be obsolete and you'd have to grind bgs 40+ hours a week to get it
Whip out the credit card and attend gdkps
honestly classic is over in 2 months so just don’t bother wasting your time
If Horde, go 8/9 T3 with Cthun Belt, If Ally go 8/9 T3 with T2.5 Chest
That was not the question.
I have 8/9 without the ring, I am Horde, and I have BONEA.
What should I do ?
Do you play dagger or Sword? Always beeing full world buffed?
I guess 8/9 is better for you, swap in BONEA if you get the ring
both belts are tight (~2-4DPS) so i would not crash the 8 Piece Bonus for 1%hit and a bit AP
Anyone want to level some shit for tbc?
hi guys is anyone able to point me in the direction of some opener and 1v1 guides? i play 59 twink hemo with pre med
alot of times i just cs hemo ks and after that just spam hemo but it doesnt feel very efficient
i struggle against wars and bear druids etc
looking into dagger rogue, is Seal Fate worth going or is combat dagger the way to go
Have been struggling to get an offhand sword. They refuse to drop, and when they do, I always lose the roll/bid for it. Going to try to go daggers since it is easier to get weapons
Anyone griefing head drop on their server? No, just me?

Netherwind
Do Rogue's never use Rupture in classic?
vs another rogue in pvp maybe. or warrior kiting/bleed. but that's pretty much it
vs tanks in pvp and cripple kite true dmg /tickle tease
I've heard Rouges in classic are just extremely powerful.
Well I mean easy to play.
Sinister strike goes brrrr
And eviscerate is completely static.
If you don't know what that means. It means it will do the amount of damage it says. It doesn't matter what weapon you have it will still do that amount.
It's like people don't have armor to reduce the damage of eviscerate
Classic rogue > retail rogue imo. Especially pvp. Class isn't complicated, but still helps to know how to play your class vs other classes.
yea i sure love 50% stealth speed and vanish that never works
- lose cp when i switch targets
85% speed if ur playing silly reset spec
in terms of QOL changes, retail > classic its not even close
Retail will always be better than Classic in terms if QOL, no debate. And I still prefer Classic rogues slower stealth speed (you're trying to be quiet, you're not supposed to go faster in stealth). Again, it's just my personal preference, I like the feel of rogue in Classic more.
Do you guys think the Mechanaar chest farm that we had back in TBC days will work on TBC classic?
What r the most profitable professions while lvling in classic
Herbalism and skinning
what addon is this it tells you when stuff is usable
@raven snow msbt
Hey got a question about Remorseless Attacks talent, dose it only trigger on Killing Blows or dose it trigger if someone in the party gets the killing blow <@&224906552333697025>

only triggers if you get the killing blow @amber yew
does anyone know the % hit rating u need to be hit capped with sword rogue
9% I believe
Either 6% or 9%, not sure
I’d go for 9% though for yellow hits. You can go beyond that but it would only affect white hits(autos) which wouldn’t be worth focusing on I believe
Does anyone have any info on how much of a dps increase eviscerate rank 9 is?
Hello guys. I would like to ask, can I level to 60 without any addons? I am not in a rush and I do want to experience the game a bit since I started wow in TBC. Now, when TBC is behind the corner, I would like to go through Classic. Is it huge pain in the ass to play without addons?
(Not asking for rogues but game in general)
the only addon that truly helps with your leveling experience is questie/some other quest addon, but you can easily level to 60 without it. I would even go so far as to say that if you enjoy leveling, you should probably stay clear of quest addons. Why? Cause it forces you to read and immerse yourself in the quests themselves. Youll also be legitimately rewarded for exploring and finding "hidden" quests, as opposed to just opening up your map and look for quest markers
@sullen adder
I know how it goes, I have an idea of what’s ahead of me in general. But I also know that there are million of you that knows more. I set up my UI for classic last week and set all up but addons interfered with retail although I payed attention to this as it already happened to me with Twitch app as well. Idea of going clean of addons sounds nice, especially as I have all the time in the world to level it up. Ty for the info/confirmation m8 ! @proper owl
Forgot to add, you might need a threat meter for dungeons if you plan on running those. I tried going "clean" too, but ended up making a WA for swingtimer, dps meter and a threat meter as I kind of considered those a bit too important
I leveled to 60 without any add-ons
As long as you read quest text you should be fine
Yes, I want to level up to 60 once as when I was 14 y/o and lvl’d to 70. I want to read quests, search and take a slower route to glory 😂. Also will force myself to go single player mode as much as I can.
I guess with this method I can be there before Karazhan 😂
Yeah. This retail state imo is either full speed or siting in covenant hub.
Ty both of you for ur time guys, I now know that its ok to go like that. Stay well!
8-10 dps for well equiped rogues
8-9% for yellows, 24% hit for offhand white attacks. When you are playing combat and the tbc pre patch will be released you want to have 18% hit and more as well as a fast offhand weapon
Got a technical question, I'm trying to learn the overall ideas behind what weaps to choose. Right now I have the Butcher in MH and Outlaw Sabre in OH
I just got Sword of Omen but I'm not sure it's better than Outlaw Sabre
Outlaw Sabre gives +15 AP with 2.7 speed and 18.9 DPS
Sword of Omen gives +9 str +3 agi +4 stam, 1.9 speed and 29.74 DPS
given I'm leveling and fights don't last terribly long, I'm guessing the faster attacks aren't worth the extra 1-2 poison applications per fight.
Or is there a good site for a calc or info
Based on logic I would take sword of omen because it grands more dps and whitehits are your largest potion. Furthermore I think its same amount of AP because 9str=9AP and 3agi=6Ap (not sure on that). In general the DPS value is probably the way to go while having slow MH and fast OH.
Yeah I'll have to look, but I think my stat sheet went down when I equipped sword of Omen. But that could just be the stats not the actual outcome.
1str = 1AP, 1agi = 1AP plus crit, dodge, etc
Would definitely go sword of omen.
People weigh agi differently but I have seen 1.5 to 2.0 AP-equivalent
Also while leveling, don't underestimate stamina. Less downtime between fights speeds up leveling considerably (same reason why 5/5 deflection & 1 point in riposte is soooo good while leveling
learning to understand the math behind dmg is good, even during leveling at least for some basics. but do yourself a favor and ignore OH calculations at this stage. it's not representative as you stated yourself i.e. because of the short fight length.
get the best stats/dps and focus on your MH
MH is a huge driver for your performance during leveling
as combat, hemo or dagger but obviously the main suggestion is to go full combat your whole leveling experience, there are alternatives though if one wants to focus more on pvp for example
if we isolate the question to your 3 named swords (Omen, Outlaw and Butcher) your best bet will be
MH: Butcher
OH: Omen
the reason for that is simply because Butcher is restricted to your MH
technically, Sword of Omen would be better in your MH than butcher even though it's a lot faster
So my suggestion would be to equip Sword of Omen in your MH and find any statstick as your new OH
so why is Omen better (even by quite a big margin) when everyone is saying slow weapons need to be in your MH?
Weapon speed is normalized in the classic patch state.
so in the formula, it's always calculated with 2.4 speed for 1H melee weapons.
There is one exception only and that's for Hemo where weapon speed is king as the actual speed is taken into the calculation but for SS we work with normalized weapon speed and SS is the main source of your damage in the leveling process.
I'd stick to either simons or garcias spreadhseets. they're pretty much the goto documents for calculations. I have never used them for low level stuff but technically that should be possible too
http://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=1VSxFOc6eFYyoF6X19SQEKd12CJriIdXl
This is garcia's sheet
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14bmOiIIj7pMueT5ROE5qVIAPvlu04Ug0xz6CMCJSqiY/edit?usp=sharing
simon's sheet
understanding sim sheets takes a while but you learn a ton on the way
and consider @flint valley comment about stamina and riposte if you haven't already. he's right.
the statement about stamina actually keeps being relevant even in endgame raiding, shit protects your buffs and "dead dudes don't deal damage" 😉
but its ok to focus on the basics first unless you really want to speed that leveling up to max. If so, I strongly suggest to get boosted tho 🙂
If you plan to quest your way to 60 and know a friendly enchanter, I recommend Fiery Weapon on any weapon that you will have for a while (e.g. The Butcher, Sword of Omen for now - Thrash Blade is available as early as 45 and will be your best mainland til 60).
if you can afford it or have nice people in your guild you can already get crusader on thrash
if you level with questing, it'll be in your MH for quite a while
I pay every rogue in my guild a crusader enchant on thrash
Yeah I leveled with fiery on everything at low level, and did crusader on my thrash blade, but my rogue was an Alt and a NostalgiaTwink. I wanted to go best gear I could the whole way while I leveled to re-live the days of my 2005 rogue
that's the spirit 🙂
Nothing more fun then 2 shottinng things in hillsbrad with fiery weap while power questing. Having the strength procs and self heal from Crusader is HUGE for the 45-60 grind
it is, as is run speed on boots and 100 hp on chest
cheap af
and totally worth it
For the Thrash Blade questas soon as your hit 45: a Warlock or Priest should be able to solo Princess.
Yeah run speed on those warsong boots lasted me a LONG time. And pretty sure I didn't replace the Gnomergan quests pants (Triprunner Dungarees?) Until I was nearly 60
Another solid mid-level quest item was the chestpiece from badlands quest (level 45ish, maybe it was Blazewind Breastplate)? That with +100hp was super dope
Yeah I went straight to Devilsaur set and some Shadow raft pieces as soon as I could. The beauty of alt leveling.
@desert hazel thanks for the great info! I'll dig into those sims for sure.
anytime, just ask if you have questions
@flint valley already got fiery on all 3 swords :)
and always distrust people telling you to stop stacking hit rating 😛
(obviously this is only relevant when raiding and mostly true for dagger but keep it somewhere in your mind 😉 )
.
probably firemaw

That's all I do on classic. Just returning horde back to monkey 🐒. Spent 3 hours of wpvp in EPL preventing buff train guilds getting in EPL and wiping.
They had to blow like 3 hearts and heads to finally get in naxx.
I'm glad you enjoy being cringe

who ?
The horde guild that we were wiping that was trying to enter Naxx.
Nothing cringer than whining about people PvP in a PvP server.
Roll on PvE, ez way out.
nah i mean, who asked
Didn't ask who asked

I mean it's their fault for breaking the peace treaty that our cringe guild had with them not to touch our summoners.
Horde on netherwind never learn not to fuck with TD gamers.
the only thing cringe here is you spending 3+ hours griefing people in a 16 year old video game for fun
Wow very interesting very cool
@signal ember nice job brother kill the horde and world buff Andy’s.
There is nothing wrong with playing classic if you enjoy the gameplay/community.
Camping/killing pve groups in worldpvp is i guess something people signed up for if they choose to paly on a pvp server, its nothing i think is very impressive/fun but everyone has different goals in the game.
I had someone apply to my guild in legion who was camping leveling people or low geared people and killed them over and over 2-3h a day. He called it doing worldpvp and found a lot of fun in doing so.
we call those people assholes
just because it's possible, allowed, or something you 'signed up for', doesn't make the person doing it any less of a shitter
"how dare you attack me on a pvp server"
nice strawman bro
it just comes down to what you want
if you want to slaughter people without them reacting to it or having a chance, its exactly the right content for you
doesn't make you any less of an asshole
if you actually care about pvp and want something else you would probably enjoy doing duels or arena
Found a player who get camped
kek

i personally get bored when killing people who seemingly don't resist or have no chance because of gear. So its def. not the content i enjoy
being able to grief other guilds during their raids is the best part bout classic
if you find making other people miserable for 2-3h a day fun, i suggest you seek mental help
esp if they talked shit which lead to the griefing to begin with
blizz only bans very extreme cases, so its part of the game
If you're being miserable, why play the game on PvP server?
Seriously that's the whole point of PvP server
i'm not disputing that it's part of the game, but you're still an asshole if you do it 🙂
theres usually a reason why a guild gets griefed
probably someone in that guild either talked shit
it doesen't matter
as long as its a legit way to play the game and is not creating a bigger issue for the community
Just stay clear of netherwind tbh
if you wanna hold hands with the opposing faction whom youre literally at war with
roll a pve server
again, nice strawman
there is a reason why blizz did exclude start zones from pvp
nobody said anything about that
And if you see Dank bud collective and total disaster in AV, you may as well quit because we're bridge protecting our base
Which we usually end up winning the AV
because people did camp those and made it impossible for anyone new to even play the game
i'm just going to keep saying it: if you find camping people who can't fight back and ruining people's days for hours every day fun: seek mental help
the reality is, most ppl don't rly care to much
i didn't say anything about that clip
Almost like they just wanted to go raid
Imagine if you’re driving to work
And a mob just forms a crowd around your car
And just keeps you there
Very cool probably
thats pretty funny tbh
Just run them over
nothing prevent them from raiding
Yea super funny when its just a theoretic example
they can easily corpse death run to the portal
warmode in bfa had only one purpose
and this was for groups to camp the other fraction
pvp as designed by the game outside of duells, arena and bg's is about grieving others and making their experience as bad as it gets
those individuals who only play the game for that reason get exactly what they want if you get angry
SL made warmode almost irrelevant tho, so the issue is lower now
But they can't parse without buffs

Even if i disslike that people do stupid things to make the experience for others terrible, its something blizz is in control and can decide to punish/restrict
also as mentioned, there is usually no long term motivation. People do it for 1-2h and then go offline
so its a rather infrequent annoyance
We do it weekly lmao. What else do we do after clearing naxx?
waiting for bc classic?
or, if you enjoy pvp duells, arena etc.
there isn't anything to do pve wise once you cleared all content
but maybe this finite system is what people like
We also held our server hostage by preventing from guilds turning in quest to get scepter for aq opening by tanking dragon inside cot for like 5 hours
Because the top guild were paying horde to prevent us getting our bug mount. Still got it btw but then the bug mount guy stole a kiss from naxx and got gkicked out.
The bug and horde stomping was one of the funniest time I had on classic
its very easy to exploit flaws given the content is known
Can anyone breakdown the dps gains from zg chest to to 2.5 chest and cloak of veiled shadows to cloak of fallen gods?

Heyo, I was wondering what would be a better offhand, I am currently rockcing Ancient Quiraji Ripper in MH and so the two options for my OH are Warblade of Hakarri and "The Castigator" a mace from Naxx, I was just wondering what would be a better option
seems like the macro cannib + stealth is broken (works 1/5), any way to get something still working since batching have been reduced?
So I just got claw of the frost wyrm last night and have cts as my main hand what spec do I go?
I’m also human rogue
So stoked, got Kingsfall and Death Sting now! LET'S GO!
So i got 8/9 today, had to replace belt of never ending agony and T2.5 chest with T3 to get it. is T3 8p a big enough dps increase to lose the stat benefit from kings on T2.5 chest and the raw damage on belt of never ending agony? i do not have the ring
its cooler with t3.
Is it worth rolling a rogue for tbc?
If you find it fun then yes
Do they do competitive dps? Or will I end up getting carried through the whole expansion?
Their dps is not top spot worthy for raids.
But not in a state like classic ret pala where you're useless
And later tiers it is said rogues become more competitive
Cool! Thanks 😊

question: When classic BC comes out will classic vanilla be unplayable?
I'd expect realm merges
ACLG+Bonescythe belt vs Bonescythe gloves+ muggers belt
i think if i use ACLG and bonecsythe imma go past crit cap
yea i think im still using muggers, im loosing 2 dps on the sims using ACLG
need never ending aggony
why is it so hard to beat hunters ??
ffs what is wrong with me
am I doing something wrong ?
Or are they just hard counters
If you get to their deadzone you can beat them
I cant lol they always scatter trap me
Having the barov peasant caller trinket is also useful since the 3 peasanta stack with you and basically reduce you getting hit by their ice trap by 75%
If they miss the ice trap it should be gg
Do they counter us ?
I was wrong following Psheros model, this noob always pvp against green geared players
He's a good player both on classic and retail
But by following his model you won't become good
youve clearly never watched him for longer than a few minutes
I have
He pvps half afk
and undergeared ppl
Get mad when he is ganked by actual good players
Ban ppl from his chat when they actually make a real statement
Are you playing with restrictions like no consumables, no engi, etc or all in?
Consu and engi for garbages player
With a frost reflector they are dead meat
Yeah yeah hunters reflector, petr reflector, stun reflector
death reflector ?
skill reflector also ?
excuses for being bad
You seem to be a very odd dude. Cu and have fun
ok coomer
Btw, Payo stomps Pshero, no discussion
Pshero is afraid of him, hoping Payo won't roll on EU
And bans everyone who dares saying the truth
The day when Payo rolled EU to see how trash they were, Pshero shit on himself

Yeah
😺
Hemo bis
you should never copy what pshero plays
he likes running weird/strange builds that no one else does
on purpose
but he makes it up with skilled gameplay
Don't know if this is the right place but was wondering about prepatch and if anyone knew whether swapping to combat swords from daggers is a dps loss or increase with slightly worse swords, currently using KF/Harbofdoom best swords are r14 ones, don't have any from naxx.
r14 swords is a dps increase from kf/harb
combat potency is very strong so swords pull a bit ahead. you could always go muti and do IEA if you wanna be daggers in prepatch
rip dagger rogues
other than some niche mutilate in arenas I don't really see daggers play much of a role in tbc.
there are some good shiv daggers though, so at least we have that 🙂
Have always preferred daggers its always a shame when they're not viable
agree
Hey, I never played Classic. Started few months before release of MoP. So I started Classic now. I just played till level 3 and I miss the combo points in my UI. Will they be added on higher level?
CP in standard UI are around the target frame if I'm right. small red dots
Thank you. I will check it out.
i suggest to find what suits you best, be it an addon or a weak aura.
I work with Luxthos Weak Auras
I will try Luxthos. Use them on retail already. 🙂
i had reposte before this patch. what do we take instead of riposte? seemed really nice to have that extra attack that did decent dmg
hmm really, i wouldve thought that surprise attacks dmg increase would be better, but what do i know
in classic, you build cp on a target, so if ur target dies, u lose ur cp
Thank you. Good to know.
Hello! I need help. Currently leveling a rogue for BC, horde side. I'm attempting the Mission: Possible But Not Probable quest. I can kill the mobs with ease, but Silixiz's Tower Key is giving me issues. I will pickpocket, it will come up, I'll click on the item (no Auto Loot cause was causing issues), it says received. I'll kill him to be fair to others doing quest and it wont show in inventory. Then I wait to do this again, and when I pickpocket my toon leans in, leans out. Nothing happens. Doesnt say "Theyve already had their pockets picked" or anything similar. I do use Elvui, and turned it off to see. No difference. Eventually gave up to continue leveling but super frustrated.
Thanks! Sorry I know this is long.
Oh, I literally had the exact same issue, @weak acorn!
My quest log was saying I hadn't pick pocketed it - it said I'd completed every other objective, but was 0/1 on the tower key - but the quest had actually completed, without telling me.
If you return to the trainer in org, you should be able to hand it in regardless!
jsut some npc's chillin in the lake
Thank you so much!! I worked!
it worked!*
could anyone link the go to pvp talent build if im using 2x swords ?
which should you prio more, faster OH speed or higher min/max roll for MH?
Is hemorrhage rogue a thing again like it was in vanilla
I think its the only way to play in arena
not the only one but it will the most prominent spec. Shs/Hemo
HArP and Muti will find their niche spots but in the <5% department
i'm trying to find a middle ground between a pvp/pve build. you think hemo/prep/cb is still decent dps for pve content?
not really
rogues already don’t do amazing damage early phases i wouldn’t gimp yourself even more
What spec are you guys using for pre-patch PvP?
i think most everyone is either subt daggers for the one shots or subt hemo
r14 mainhand + perdition's blade OH or r14 mainhand + core hound tooth OH ?
cht
idk how its in pre patch if anything has changed, but yeah stats and higher attack speed
the difference is minor though
alright. thank you very much:D
if you are going for pvp, 100% cht
yes
okay nice. ye makes sense with stats but wasnt 100% sure
with 70 OH becomes more important
but even now i'd stick with a faster OH with stats
okay ye. but it's not worth it for me to waste another 20k honor for the pvp OH right ?
Shs/Hemo, not the one with imp ambush, I'm not into that kind of fotm stuff but seems like many people have a ton of fun with it
guess it's comparable to BM hunters, enjoying it as long it lasts
it's legit but will be over soon
if you dont have honor/tokens to trash, no
you will collect offhands soon enough 🙂
okay nice :3 ty
need at least 3 good and fast ones
but right now
use whatever you have access to
if you run Naxx a last time you could go for MSA. its seldom on any prio list and it's a beast of a pvp mainhand. would make R14 obsolete
the proc is amazing actually
Anyone knows why this macro doesnt work for focus gouge, but it works for focus sap? >.>
#showtooltip
/cast [nostealth] Gouge
/cast [nostealth,mod:shift,@focus] Gouge
/cast [stealth,nomod] Sap
/cast [stealth,mod:shift,@focus] Sap
hvan't tested but looks like u missed nomod in the first gouge condition
@spark mist bad positioning maybe? You can sap from anywhere, have to be in front for gouge
Y’all still playing classic or tbc?
tbc
Is this true??
classic discussion
Yes
How active is classic now days
Does anyone know if there is a difference in the effectiveness of Tormented's dagger of necrotic wounding depending on how many people take it? It looks like it stacks to 10 more easily with more people, but I'm not sure if the damage is then capping or something like that
sorry if wrong channel not sure where to post
Hey with the SoM realm that is coming soon, is there any chance that we have changes on our poisons/rotation (like including bleed) or it's still the same as the old classic ?
Doubtful
That's what I thought !
How much %hit is needed outside of the 5% from talents to be hit capped
Assuming i'm a human sword rogue
You need a total of 9% hit rating I believe
8% if you're facing lvl 60 mobs, 9% if you're facing lvl 63 mob (raid bosses)
Human sword rogue have +5 to sword so they need 2% less hit to reach the cap (assuming you're 300 on sword)
So that's 5% from talent + 2% from human perks you need only 2% to reach 9%
@celest wasp
Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong
Please note that the 9% cap is only for abilities from behind a boss. In front he can still dodge/parry/block of course
Auto attack are 24.6% hit rate which is not advise to go for.
having +5 weapon skill actually gives you effectively 3% hit, you get +2% to hit and lose 1% chance to miss. so yellow hit cap actually becomes 8% so you need 1% chance to hit from gear to get yellow hit cap as a sword rogue since you can get+5 skill from talents. as a human you can get the 308 "softcap" from talents to reduce glancing down to a 5% penalty.
Anyone know if deadly poison/rupture will be viable in season of mastery?
Class balance won’t change
how would 4 pc darkmantle be early on for pvp?
i know the boots are good
but the 4 pc proc?
or 6 pc DM and 2 pc blue pvp
talking pre raid
Talking SoM here:
Can a nelf dagger rogue compete with human swords in PvE?
Also for PvP, are daggers good? Is it more burst with dagger, more control with sword?
do we know what time tomorrow it releases
3pm pacific
3.5 hours to go!
is the pins talent build still up to date?
hey, I have never played classic nor have I played rogue. I have play a lot of Retail WoW since BfA and Im wondering if classic is "harder" to "master" than retail is and how hard is it to play rogue in classic
wouldnt say harder, just different
so as combat rogue do you play sword/dagger oder dual sword ?
cuz some1 said high attack speed dagger in off hand for energy regen
lol your weapon choice doesnt change energy regen
and when you play combat you spec sword or dagger so using both is dumb
ah okay so just dual wield sword, yes ?
yup
which site has the best talent tree for leveling/laterß
I qot question regarding this quest " [[24] Mission: Possible But Not Probable (2478)]" aka poison, I killed the foreman like 4 times and no head can be looted?
Would using deadly poison on a slow hard hitting sword MH and instant on a fast sword OH be ideal? or how does using deadly work
for bosses that will take long enough ofc for deadly to make a difference
im new to classic and i wanted to know if its valid to have a sword on one hand and in the other a dagger in leveling
For leveling just using instant. For raiding instant MH deadly OH
Totally fine if you arent spec for a specific weapon. Just use whatever’s best
why does it have to be impossible to find a tank in SoM?
Is it worth leveling as hemo from around 30 for the pvp advantage on a pvp server? Or does it not outweigh the leveling speed of combat?
Play whatever’s fun for you
Is Lobotomizer+Distracting Dagger better than Krol/Zeal+Mirah's?
In the context of raiding
Planning to get exalted for the ring and was wondering picking up daggers
Yo
Does anyone have the numbers on Dalrend Main hand Felstriker Off Hand vs. Dalrends Main Hand Dalrend Off Hand? (Human Rogue)
There’s no point in mixing sword and dagger. Pick one and spec into it
Hey guys, is there a SoM spreadsheet for BiS items?
I'm new to this discord and rogues in general, any help welcome.
Please reply to my post if you decide to answer 😉
Noone? 😦
Hello, I have a question on classic combat leveling rotation. Most guides recommend (CS into) SS into Eviscerate. In my experience this is only good vs. weak, low level and cloth mobs. If the mobs a strong, i. e. high armor (Garrote into) SS into Rupture is much better as it bleeds through armor.
And besides that, is SnD worth it, without the talent in the assa tree?
What is the best rotation in your view?
No point using rupture in classic, damage isn't worth it and you're better off using evis if your snd already rolling
The only time you rupture is on rogue in wpvp or bleed more plates
think combat/sub spec is viable?
Is there a current bis list for season of mastery
4pc t0.5, r14 pvp weapons, whatever offpieces you can find
thanks
Is it worth using 6 piece shadowcraft over devilsaur set if I still have 9% hit as a human with swords? Starting 0.5 chain soon but a little behind because I rerolled
No
oh no now im extra confused because sims are saying otherwise
sims are saying its an increase
if sims say increase, then do it
what sims are you using?
Simonize's sim is the only good one, Garcia's is weird and he hasn't been able to keep it up to date
ty I use simonize but trying to source more to compare 🙂
I would also recommend joining his server, you'll get much better/faster answers than asking here or the classic rogue server
... It's so quiet here ...
yeah because there's like 5 discords for classic, lmao
That was a deliberate decision. I think the main appeal is to have full control over how you promote information instead of only having one section.
A separate discord just has the comfort to only offer the specific niche you want to cover and only has people join who are interested in it.
There where just not enough interest from people who are already on the server, even tho i still think there was also some questionable tactics used to convince people to join a splitter server (e.g. people did not answer questions but say "you would get a answer in <links server>" what is technically against our promotion rules)
How good/bad is the sub pvp spec for raiding? Like how much worse in % would it be? Gear being equal
Iirc it's in the ballpark of ~10%, if not even more of a loss
And that's on single target, not accounting for the loss in overall damage from not having blade flurry
okey ty
hi all - i have mirah's song, assasination blade, trash blade, and skull forge reaver - what combo should i run with? ty in advance
thrash+mirahs probably
you'll replace them doing questing in outland tho
like, quickly
Hey, what order are you supposed to take gnomish/goblin engineering to get the best of them both? or is that still possible in SoM?
gnomish for battle chicken, then drop and relevel as goblin to make your own sappers
nfi if it's possible in som, since i haven't touched it - and battle chicken invalidates logs in tbc now
i assume that's som? probably, sword is good
hello im a fellow enh shaman, im aiming to play rogue in wotlk. Which race do u suggest for pve Orc or Troll ?
in TBC, I hear that WF no longer resets auto-attack timers and has a 3s internal cooldown. Does this mean that timing sinister-strikes using a weapon swing timer is obsolete? Rather should we be timing SS to a Windfury cooldown timer?
can't confirm the icd off the top of my head, but you don't need to time your sinisters in tbcc
@deep lagoon
Hi Erazer,
Windfury Weapon in TBC has a 3 second internal cooldown, but this is the weapon-imbue that shamans use on their own weapons.
Windfury Totem in TBC does not have any internal cooldown. It can only trigger from auto attacks.
Since Windfury Totem cannot trigger from Sinister Strikes or your other abilities, and Sword Spec also does not reset swing timer, timing Sinister Strikes with your weapon swing timer is obsolete in TBC for a rogue.
simon in the retail disc
its true
For horde, troll is better early on as Assa, once combat comes online orc is better. So unless you plan to just play assassination. Then go orc. Really doesn’t matter a whole lot though.
Guys is Dst usefull on Wotlk or there's better options ?
Is assa gonna be the go to for leveling from 70-80?
anyone playing classic
Ew
anyone happen to know how much the troll/orc racials add to dps in comparision to Undead/Belf? Primarly looking at Assassination for Wotlk?
As orc you can do more dps I think or last time I played wotlk was like that
Last time I played WOTLK I lvl up as assassination
I believe from what ive read orcs are better with pvp due to their hardiness passive and trolls are better at pve due to their regeneration ability.
never mind. I found a good guide for addons for rogues.
Looking to get back into TBC. Which server has equal horde/alliance representation and a higher population? Looking for US sever. Thanks!
Any good or complete leveling guide? (Talents, weapon enchants, tips , weapon progression)
hello evryone
anyone know the weight value of 1 dps 1 max damage 1 min damage compared to 1 attack power
can't find anywhere the value
its for my "pawn" profile
or knowing witch weapon is better is not that hard so i don't need third party opinion ?
Which poisons should i use on my Alliance Rogue? Double instant?
What kind of content
hey, guys, im planning to play a rogue in WOTLK, but theres so much conflicting infomation on what horde race to go for PVE, Orc or troll, people say there are pros and cons to both races, Assassination seems to be the better spec all throughout WOTLK, so Troll seems better in that case, but some fights combat might be better, which then Orc is the go to.... im just wondering if anyone could give me some more info on what race i should pick, mostly going to be doing PVE not really interested in PVP, thanks!
edit: seems as though people have been chatting above about my question... haha.... didnt notice, sorry.
does anyone know of an addon that tallies the amount of pickpocketing gold you've looted for TBC? i had one for season of mastery but im having trouble finding one for tbc.
Orc for everything in horde I'd say
I feel like many players tends to believe rogue in PvP is kinda meh due to the overtune of every classes
which poisons are best while leveling in the 50s?
I've been using instantx2 but should i think about switching mh out for deadly at some point?
For early-mid progression orc is better, for icc troll is sligthly better, but the difference betweem both is minimal (around 40-50 dps at bis gear)
For wotlk minmax you can look for Aldriana spreadsheets.
Hey lads as a budding rogue at level 54 how are things looking for me if I follow through into Wrath?
I'm also looking at engineer for professions
Ive been doing deadly and instant, but swapping if i think i need crippling or something like that
Yea I switched to deadly on one weapon shortly after I made that post and the mobs feels like they die much faster now
Instantx2 was good when everything died in 5sec but fights at lvl50 are a bit longer lol
deadly i believe is just a ticking dot and the other is just a quick application, the damage is AROUND the same but im finding the longer fights to need dots
yeah exactly, good call
Someone just told me they have windfury out so i dont need poisons on in classic... lol. is that actually a thing? they think they dont stack. Are they crazy?
They dont
Weapon: oil, sharpen, poison, totem enhancements -
All share the same buffslot so you can only choose one, and for
pve rogue(dungeon/raid):you typically want wind fury on mainhand and sharpen weapon on offhand
Gotcha thanks
Do maces overtake swords in WOTLK for pvp? Due to armor pen?
From my vague memory of private servers, if you go combat you go mace.
But sub and sin should be stronger overall.
I think I got lost because of how strong killing spree looked on the beta, but I remembered these players are overturned and extremely geared 😂
