i think you can disable the edit mode editing on it and then it goes back to your char

uuf for your player / target frames. there’s addons that can recreate the resource bars, and addons that make the cooldown manager more flexible but it’s still not perfect

I hate the blizzard unit frames so I went UUF with SenseiClassResourceBar. you might like it too and it seems to be an early favorite in the rogue discord though if you want your combo points like the old weak aura packs you can use bettercooldownmanager by the same developer

you could try arcUI, I know they have glow settings when abilities are active and you can adjust the glow opacity and style, I haven’t looked for a “tell me when” function though

Is there much of a difference between specs for solo survivability?

Class knowledge is your best friend here.
P.e.: if you know when to actually pop evasion and just sit there pumping DMG for 10 seconds or to cloak when a bunch of magic users are casting on you, or even Line of sighting mobs so you can pack them and burst them down, it won't matter what spec you're using

The amount of times I've seen rogue beginners popping evasion and then running with Sprint, completely wasting evasion...

beeing in the process of choosing my main for midknight. Love the rogue fantasy and was my first char on max lvl back in WOTLK.
I am playing WOW solo most of the time: OW PVE, Delves, Prey, LFR are my main activities. In addition to that, farming old content, Achivement hunting etc.
Is capable for that type of content? Are delves very difficult as a rogue.
Looking at the speccs, I find subtely very interesting.
Any thoughts on that.

Rogue is more challenging than other classes in raw soloing power, but if you like the fantasy it shouldnt be a stopper for that. Regardless its a little crystal ball issue since we dont have any idea what it will look like when midnight launches or how strong we will be relatively in that manner.

To add on to that rogue has always been able to solo content but it takes time to learn which corners we're able to cut to do content our own way

The guides are always well written but as koffing said, it's not midnight so we don't know what's on the horizon

your view is usually central to see your character 🔵.
And your Cooldown manager/Combo points/etc. is usually below 🟢.
Which means your eye movement to certain parts of the UI takes longer, which puts stress on your eyes and requires more focus.

This is why the standard ui was so bad.
Unit frames top left, debuffs/buffs top right, Action bar bottom middle, you essentially had everything across the entire screen and no one central place to look at.

So my idea is to keep things in the lower part of the UI, so 🟡 and 🟠 and avoid 🔴 if possible.
This gives the following benefits:

• Less eye movement required, everything in one place.
• No or very little UI elements on the top, means you see more of what's going on in a fight/dungeon.

Ofc. I have no scientific evidence to support this, so its mostly my assumption/personal experience.

I found for myself, that i basically ignore buffs if they are at the top, even tho i rly wish you had the option to filter

if you only want to hide ui stuff i can recommend TUI, its a small addon you can use to hide any frame.
If you want to only hide bags:

• Type /tui
• Paste BagsBar in the big text field
• Check always hide
• Click save and apply

i found many addons are not super stable atm, and can be buggy or cause other issues

addon developers seem to work extra time to fix whatever possible, but this also delays feature development

its like 60-80% of what i want, and for pre patch its perfect

but there is still this at minimum 20% of features that are missing or qol features that i personally would want

the point is, that addons are very "young" still, while you had featrue rich and tested addons before

i think i got spoiled with weakauras also. i liked to code configure them to show both CD and duration, and now with cd manager i got 1 button for CD and one for duration, for example dance or imolation aura

basically, whenever i had nameplates on screen my fps dropped to 2

i found the problem, but not a good solution ^^

Basically, the problem is direct x 12 related, but direct x 11 performs noticably worse on my laptop

so its not a valid option to use dx11 to get playable framerates, as these are still laggy

with dx 12 the nameplate addon i use (which i used before the pre patch too) has a setting to unhook and unload a lot of bizz ui stuff

and this option eliminates the issue of performance impact, but addon does not allow as much styling as plater/platinator so i would need to do lua edits if i want to adjust it further ^^

neverless, its not a big deal i think the nameplates look and work well enough and they have all the features i want with only a small amount of broken stuff, i assume due to new api stuff, i hope will get fixed soon

I’m a big fan of platynator, it has some quirks but the Designer feature is great

Being able to click an element to edit it right from there, as well as drag to anywhere you want it relative to the actual nameplate itself

Plus it supports nameplate scaling when targeted/casting baseline
