I've never done a REMIX before but I believe they're good for levelling charactersw ith 400% exp and stuff? Is there a long build up to get to that increased exp or am I fine to just hop in and start smashing out characters?

Yes, there's a long build up. But it's still very very fast to level even without the full 400% buff.
I'd just say do the content you think is fun and start smashing guys out.

You get 10% from finishing each zone storyline, 10% from every max level guy, and 1% from daily quests you can do up to 18 of a day. You can just do world content and it's fine, the daily quests vary quite a lot.

The only thing you'd lose is any progress on unfinished things, quests, etc.
But transmog, mounts, etc is all account wide now.

Its not 9 out of 10 till you come to a certain key range. And there it is what it is. The player base who plays those keys is really small so its not a big issue in the grand scheme of things and has probably not a high prio.
Resi keys on itself is not a bad idea and pretty nice for premate groups who can do less homework keys. Its the community which made it bad to pug.

Evasion is 10 free seconds of not getting damaged, depending on the elite you can stun them with kidney shot, feint for AoEs, cloak of shadows for magic damage.
Throughout the years, the only elites I tend to have problems with are the group ones, where they obviously will survive my burst and I can't out damage them
If assassination, you can also play cat and rat game, where you bleed the mobs, they are slowed and you just run around until they die basically
Having health potions from current expansion / patch is also a must

I initially liked the look of outlaw but I'm being told it's not in a great place. its impossible for the game to be 100% bug free
and many bugs are not worth fixing, tooltip bugs are many times that
e.g. you can observe that if you log in on retail and look at the flagellation tooltip after using shadow blades.
references in tooltips can be get wrong, even tho a fix is easy if you know the bug, it still requires time from the dev
so rather than doing a fix, these bugs are shelfed infinitely and stay in the game
besides that, not every bug is well documented, and any change can introduce new bugs
just means, there is a very high chance to be impacted by a bug w/e you do in game

The thing is with that right is normally people do 12s for crest farm and 10s for vault
Now people will actually shift to around doing 15s i think or atleast 12s as a baseline. because 15s are 3/6 which is quite decent. but with the current crest itteration its really punishing if you only go to 1/6 because of how much it takes to upgrade a item
So that probaly means that the decent players wont appear in 10's or 12s

But the difficulty difference (and therefore effort required) between a +15 and a +18 is enormous, so i dont think theres gonna be a whole lot of people doing the higher

Anyone know if there's any way to restore old characters, that's beyond the ingame function for it that is (where the limit is 90/120 days iirc)?
Just came to the realization I might have lost some characters I never played on a few years back (don't remember deleting them, might've been acc compromised or something).
Issue is those are some of the characters I did play during original Legion, and I did a few of my mage tower appearance unlocks on (for all specs). So I can't unlock further of the appearances without those characters 🙁
Think my only shot it is to make a ticket, and we all know how contacting the customer "service" goes usually...

Yeah nowadays everything is account wide. so lets say for example you have the tint on one character and you level the character and you want to get the other tints, you just have to do the qeustline. get the artifact and do the missions for the other tints.
