Explanation of snapshotting

Bleeds update their tick rate dynamically, which means that if you get a haste proc (which increases our tick rate) from somewhere during the encounter (ie. Flagellation, Euphoria), the bleeds would automatically tick faster, but the second your haste goes back to normal, the tick rate goes back down as well.

Honestly, that's a very difficult question to answer, but we can go over why for example legion was good and bfa/shadowlands wasn't. (this is all opinion obviously)

Personally, I don't really like the uber-seasonal gameplay where you just hard reset every couple patches, and the game has shifted more and more towards that. As much as legion had titanforging and it was really bad, there was a certain aspect to titanforging where you got an item that you just kept for a long long time, and that was pretty cool. There was also a large portion of "individuality" with the spec weapons and the powers it gave. Even with the terrible RNG acquiring legendaries early on and the poor tuning of m+/raid in the first patch, you had something where you logged in every day and just farm m+, do your emissary, etc. It was something new and different, brought world content back, dungeon content, and you could work on your weapons, etc. Lots of ever-green systems that would shape the future and improve the base game, while also reworking classes, professions, and introducing a whole set of systems that would increase your power. Later on they added mage tower, great solo challenge, their world content in antorus and the broken shore was very creative to the standard gaemplay loop in world. Each spec had it's own lore with the weapon quests, etc. Lots to do, lots of new stuff, new systems, long term player power, all great.

Then BFA hits. BFA promised to replace tier sets, legion artifact weapons, and legendaries, with just azerite. They were doomed from the start trying to replace 3 systems with 1, but then it was also rushed, and unpolished, and didn't really do much in terms of exciting gameplay changes. The M+ system got seasonal affixes, there was the assaults in the zones (which ended up basically just being more world quests), and warfronts/islands were hyped up to be more ever-green content that would last for years, but ended up falling flat. Warfronts especially were nearly un-losable PvE battlegrounds and just didn't end up doing anything crazy. Islands were designed as a procedurally generated thing, every island was supposed to be different, but it just didn't have enough variation and the pve enemies were way too easy. It ended up being an endless grind that you just speedran as fast as possible with the same strat over and over, just giga pull everything and queue next, giga pull everything, queue next. I think most of the community enjoyed islands for the first couple of times, like in the first patch, islands were great. They weren't really iterated on though so it just ended up losing luster and ending up a dud. So we're left with basically just legion m+, legion classes, without any of the cool parts, and the ever green content stagnated.

Shadowlands is more of the same in that regard. Tier sets returned at the end, and I think right now it's not really in an all too bad state, but being covenant locked with no catch-up was the same mistake they admitted in legion with artifacts. They ended up changing that too but clearly didn't learn from that. Shadowlands soulbinds are going away, and were nowhere near as defining as artifacts were (even though they're basically a re-hash), and aside from that we really didn't get anything new content-wise. The closest thing we got to an iteration of world content would be the covenant daily thing where you empower an area and it unlocks stuff, or the venthyr ember court for example. That would be on a similar vein to legion's withered army training, and not to mention the rest of suramar as a lore-based zone was never iterated on either. It just feels like over the last 2 expansions, it's been a lot of rehashing old ideas without actually doing anything to push the game forward. Hopefully the talent rework/dragon flying/profession stuff can actually breathe some new life into it, but it's all felt very stagnant and seasonal and it's just getting moldy on the kitchen counter so to speak

That's a really good explanation, I'll reply in full at the moment -- not that it is warranted necessarily. As someone who came from a few years(expansions) of raiding/playing ff14 to jumping into shadowlands there are things i like and do not like. The complete disregard for alts and making people repeat the most meaningless grinds have been a huge turnoff. Especially coming from 14 where you can just click a hotkey and bam, all your gear equipped. The affixes and the m+ dungeons to me anyways are really cool, but what gets overshadowed is the terrible group finder system and this reliance on third party addons for information to accept people into your group. Pair that with this archiac server structure where you cant even mythic raid with other servers for the first two months of a patch and it becomes stale real fast. I cannot see myself playing after this expansion. Raids are fun to a point, weakauras and addons being required for every fight even in pugs gets really annoying.

It was a fun adventure and I enjoyed rogue specs the most out of everything I've played but there's no incentive for me to pay money to server transfer my characters, or continue to stay on a dead server where ten people run the market. Even if the next expansion is 'fun' or 'worthwhile'.

So I just asked because I was curious what they might release in dragon expac that might be worth trying out or might make it kind of fun. The talent system looks cool but idk if it's enough to keep you interested. There will be most likely a bunch of meta-builds and it will basically increase the gap between the 99% player and the 50% player by who chose the right talents for the right fights -- and then you'll also need to hearth out or tomes to change their new system. Or something annoying and costly because that is how they force you to play their economy games...Lastly, being in a casual guild will just mean you kill even less bosses because they will all be personal mechanics and not dps checks.
