if youre dead as a rogue, 99% of the time its your fault. ilvl parses are even less important than heroic parses. parses right now get cheesed a lot so hitting 95+ is almost impossible unless you do the same. ilvl is highly indicative on where you will land, youre simply not going to parse 85+ overall unless you have 970+

i tried out a bunch of different trinkets, and i couldnt tell you which one of those was the "best" or "worst" one because they're all stat-trinkets and gauging how impactful they were to your overall dps is pretty much impossible

ssf is very consistent for a trinket since it has a fairly high proc-chance, and consistency is what we should strive for when gearing since were already suffering from enough RNG with poison bomb/bota procs

Quick question. Raid sims do not factor in execute phases and such, do they? by that I mean for legendaries like Zoldyck's shackles
because when I swapped out my Ravenholdt ring for the wrists, I simmed 1k lower, because ravenholdt has a shit ton of crit that slightly outweighed the other stats I think

the sim may be in execute range longer or shorter depending on your raid and kill times
which will make the numbers a bit funky
also you could be simming lower with wrists if your wrists with the ring are really good and the ring you replace to use the wrists is garb, there are a lot of factors
a 1k difference is extremely minimal btw, and within the margin of error. i'd still use the wrists, especially on a fight that has priority adds that are in execute range multiple times throughout a fight

Yeah, I figured that a 1k difference wouldn't be terrible, and it'd be better to use the wrists in the long run, so I ended up sticking with that. @fiery nest
and I was factoring in afterwards that maybe the stats weights were pretty huge on the ring and the wrists together
but I ended up gathering more mastery rings, so my sims has shot up almost another 100k, so i guess it's worth it LOL

A much better fight to review would be varimathras or garothi since it is pretty much patchwerk. Argus is a fight that can be heavily cheesed to inflate parses and kill time matters much more than other bosses. In most of your kills you are in the blue/purple range for your item level which is not bad at all. Your item level is low considering who you are competing with in the overall parse: the average heroic raider nowadays is probably 970.

You lost the strength of the sky buff multiple times in phase 1 - there is no reason to not stack this buff 4-5 times unless you died. You wasted lots of combo points, do not mutilate at 4cp. Just use your finisher as if you were at 5. In phase 3 you didn't attack the add that takes 100% more poison damage. It spawns in the same place every time. You should also be saving all your cooldowns for this add when you notice the boss is about to transition.

Looking through your other fights it is difficult to judge since they are older logs and it's clear you were still learning as I see some mistakes that were corrected in the argus log
It is still a recurring theme that your vanishes beyond the first are all over the place. You should never vanish without vendetta and toxic blade. An exception would be if the boss is going to die before those are off cooldown.
That's about all I can see. Like I said your item level parses are decent.

A really good 955 beating a bad 970 isn't unheard of. Weapon ilvl doesn't have immense value for Mut. If the sims are close, I would just keep the higher ilvl one. Traits going away in prepatch, so only weapon ilvl will matter.
Not that optimizing in prepatch is important, but... if it's within a few thousand DPS, you're not missing out on much now anyways.
Oh, just looked at the sim. 40k gap is pretty big. Probably worth swapping it in. Hopefully you get another high ilvl relic to swap in come prepatch. I'm hanging onto a few in my bags.
