Running out of energy in single target is completely normal, intended design of Assassination. As a burst spec our damage is mainly loaded into Deathmark/Shiv and massive Envenoms through stacking multiple nature damage buffs such as Lingering Darkness, Shiv, Darkest Night, Amplifying Poison, and more. This comes with the natural downside of our damage suffering outside of these windows, in part due to the designed lack of energy slowing us down.

Because of this, there is only one minor (0.3%) min-max with energy, which is pooling 3-4 seconds into an upcoming Kingsbane. Ideally this would put you at around 50-60% energy before you enter your Kingsbane, which is more than enough energy alongside thistle tea. Outside of that, spam Envenom and just accept that you will run out of energy. There is nothing you can do to not run out of energy. Playing around Envenom uptime also is not relevant anymore, as Twist the knife allows for two stacks at a time, which reduces wasted uptime dramatically. Without twist the knife, wasting uptime is unavoidable.

tbh there are also factors like kill timing, goup composition, mechanics to play etc. that influences the logs. Two perfectly played rogues can differ a lot in dps when one doesnt have a monk/shaman in group for example. Or when 3 devoker just delete the funnel adds within 0,1 second while the rogue from the top log have 1 minute time to spread bleeds and funnel

Lean on weakaura crutch while you can. Liquid reminders or some type of mrt note + WA goes a long way to offloading cognitive load so you can focus on other things

Preferences currently are wrist/dagger for embellishment depending on what you go for

Darkmoon Sigil Ascension (dagger) + Writhing Banding (wrist) is generally "the best" overall, but Blessed Weapon Grip + Dawnthread can be VERY VERY slightly better in m+

Always craft a dagger for at least an offhand. Put Ascencion or Blessed Weapon Grip on it. Additional Crafts should be Wrist (maybe Belt later in the patch after dropping the delve belt) for your second embellishment, after that whatever low item level slot is fine, necks can be good crafts.
If you have a myth track weapon in your main hand already read the above and pick whatever you prefer

Due to unknown reasons right now, the Jastor Diamond (gallywix ring) isn't proccing a lot of the time.

TLDR

Treat the Jastor Ring as a 690ish ring instead. Replace with Hero Track 700+ ring whenever possible. Re-equipping can fix it sometimes, but it's inconsistent

The Long Form

Unsure how to reproduce the issue, but you can see in the following links that there are people with Jastors equipped that are simply not proccing at all during the fight.

Uptime across the raid using my guild as an example, you can already see some weirdness with goomts uptime

Here are some equip pages from the same pull showing the ring equipped, but they got 0 procs in the 7 minute pull:

In my guild alone, uptime on the rings across the raid have dropped by roughly 60-80% overall compared to the previous patch, making the ring real bad. My guild chose to unequip the rings entirely and wear whatever junk rings we had laying around. The extra added stamina was sometimes noticeable, but we noticed no difference in damage at all. I know this is a lot more personal-experience than a lot of other pins, but if your guild has a log-diver just go and check uptimes and make the determination for yourself.

Season 3 is a buggy nightmare, we live in hell, stay safe from the 🐛 love you guys

I tried messing around with the APL. I don't think it ever refreshes rupture outside of pandemic, even if that means you'll refresh it inside of KB. I tried to force it to do it but could not get any benefit

make sure to dot at least 5 targets with rupture and garrote, and make sure to have Tempest on every target. Use envenom as often as you can unless you gotta redot. Use shiv right after big cd and once again shiv is over. Dont use shiv when darkness is active.
